Re "Virtual Reality"-- The title embodies a false premise-- "virtual reality" (which term itself is an oxymoron) can not, and will not, change the world. You can play video games all day, and wear special goggles to keep the game going when you take a potty break, but eventually, when you finally come out of the basement, "real reality" will be waiting for you, completely indifferent to your fantasy life and infantile desires.
A virtual pizza will never taste as good as a real one, hot from the oven.
Potty break? Worry more about a broken potty. Calling the meta-plumber ain't gonna get it. The same people who are carrying on about a woman's "bodily autonomy" are the same people who were all in favor of vaccine mandates.
I read somewhere that, for the past few years the majority of 'abortions' have consisted of using the Morning After pill. The whole smallish kabuki theater protest reaction right now is just people trying to influence their politicians and other voters, for Election '22. The Justices aren't going to change their mind and have already shown they're not influenced by the bully mob.
But I wonder if much is going to meaningfully change besides Blue States doing their thing and Red States, theirs. Few people are going to histrionically uproot and change states because of this. If the problem even comes up at all, they'll just get in the car and drive. I haven't read up much on what the Morning-after pill does, what its effects are, but... I'm starting to think that, unless Republicans do something really puritanically stupid, the Morning-After pill might become the new commonly-used pre-emptive normal, just another pill kept in the medicine cabinet. There will be an incentive to make it an even better product, more user-friendly, and the whole procedure of abortion is going to be relegated to a mostly irrelevant historical misfortune that is only used as a measure of last resort. Hey, that guy Victor Vescovo, you should read his bio - he's really something. He makes the Dos Equis 'World's Most Interesting Man' look like a plumber's helper by comparison.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_Vescovo Forced birth. The Supreme Court is illegitimate. American Talibanism - what does that even mean? The Left, always hysterical, has gone completely off the deep end. They used to be better at hiding their lunacy. Their irate proclamations have risen to new levels of delirium. All over killing an unborn human life.
The "fat studies" issue will follow all the other left wing agendas and once they make it acceptable to think that fat people are oppressed they will begin punishing thin people or any who use the words fat or obese. It will be taught at West Point and in our schools and people will go to jail for misjudging your weight.
Kunstler approaches RvW with a different perspective.
https://kunstler.com/clusterfuck-nation/the-time-of-our-time/ His dystopia is increasingly unavoidable, it seems. "complicated feelings about Trump"
"Today, a RINO is a Republican who doesn’t believe Rudy Giuliani’s fever dreams about a stolen election." The evidence that Trump won by a landslide is overwhelming. The author must know this, they cannot be that ignorant. If they insist on believing Biden won they would be wise to keep it to themselves since it makes them look stupid or biased. The steal of the 2020 election was the crime of the century and may well lead to the downfall of our country. Many people haven't grasped the gravity of what the far left did Nov 4th The evidence that things were mishandled, some of them intentionally in the 2020 election is pretty good. The evidence that Trump won "by a landslide" is not overwhelming. It is so emphatically not "overwhelming" that I can't believe anyone is talking themselves into that position.
Do you notice that you are preferring the paranoid interpretations of things on several subjects? Maybe it's you. It's kinda personal for you now isn't it?
You can try to keep up the fantasy that Biden won, I don't care. But you know and I know that on Nov 4th there was massive voter fraud and in half a dozen states elected and appointed politicians and judges colluded with the far left who stole the election. The Democrats have made a policy of stealing elections and the Republicans for decades have just accepted it. But this one was different for many reasons. Mostly because the steal was so blatant. But also because unlike past stolen local or state elections this one disenfranchised about 80 million Trump voters and they won't forget. The repercussions of the big steal are not over, there are 81 million voters who are still pissed. Compare this planned event: Not a single Biden supporter shows up at Arizona event
With this spontaneous event: Miles long car caravan of Trump supporters Then tell me with a straight face that Trump didn't win at least Arizona in a landslide. RJP: Compare this planned event: . . . With this spontaneous event

It's a legitimate point. Circuses attract large crowds, but most people don't go to the circus. Large crowds (especially during a pandemic) don't imply majority support.
Sigh... In a democratic system, elections must be open and transparent. If there are substantive claims of impropriety such as observers not being able to observe (and in fact kicked out) or sworn depositions that fake ballots were counted or illegal votes were cast (and there were), it's up to system to prove those claims are false and the election was in fact held openly and honestly.
That is not what happened. People running the election in many of the contested areas, the vast majority of whom were Democrats, blocked audits, destroyed documents, and didn't even offer a defense for kicking observers out so they could not do their job. Courts further obstructed the process by not hearing evidence in suits brought before them and the most egregious example was where the Supreme Court refused to hear a lawsuit from 20 states alleging that elections in several states were not run according to laws passed by the legislatures in those states as the Constitution directs (and which clearly happened) because they had no standing. Well who has standing? It is unreasonable to think that partisans who ran many of the elections in contested areas, much less non partisan people, would intentionally attempt to derail audits of the vote if they were confident the vote was conducted honestly. Therefore, it is reasonable to believe that the vote was not conducted honestly and the results invalid. Taking that and the fact that on many statistical yardsticks, Trump easily won, I'd agree with OneGuy that Trump won by a large margin. mudbug: If there are substantive claims of impropriety such as observers not being able to observe (and in fact kicked out) or sworn depositions that fake ballots were counted or illegal votes were cast (and there were), it's up to system to prove those claims are false and the election was in fact held openly and honestly.
Those claims were adjudicated by courts at many different levels. The evidence is that the election was open and honest. You make a series of claims (blocked audits, destroyed documents, no defense offered for kicking out observers, elections not run according to law) but offer no evidence. There are systems in place, and that you don't understand those systems isn't evidence of malfeasance. mudbug: Well who has standing? Generally, the candidates. Trump took his claims to court, and they were found to be without merit. In all most all the cases brought before a judge, the suits were thrown out without looking at the evidence.

Because most of the suits were without merit. And when asked for evidence, they couldn't provide it. It all begs the question; If 81 million people believe that the election was stolen the government has the obligation to have a bi-partisan investigation and a complete release of the information gathered. Instead what you get, as Zach pointed out, is partisan judges denying justice and covering up the facts.
There is a great opportunity thanks to the documentary 2000 mules where they documented 45,000 people, numerous NGOs and politicians involved in a massive election fraud (although small percentage of the total extensive steal) Prosecute them and get them to turn states evidence to turn over the names of people up the chain who committed these crimes. Make these names and criminal acts known to everyone.

That's what the courts are all about. And the issues have been adjudicated. Even Trump appointees to the courts threw out Trump's lawsuits. OneGuy: There is a great opportunity thanks to the documentary 2000 mules More nonsense. Drop boxes are meant to be convenient. So, if you are on your way to work, or someone making deliveries, you may pass the same boxdrop multiple times. Furthermore, people can, in most cases, legally drop off ballots for other people, such as family members. OneGuy: Prosecute them and get them to turn states evidence to turn over the names of people up the chain who committed these crimes. And yet, no one has been indicted, even in Trumpy-run states (except isolated cases).

OOPS! You screwed up! I can only assume you have not seen 2000 Mules. If you had seen it you would know a few important facts that illustrate your stupidity. First, it is called 2000 mules even though there were about 45,000 mules because they chose such a high bar to accuse these mules of crimes. They wanted to make sure it was an open and shut case against them so fools like you couldn't just make those stupid excuses you just made. These 2000 mules visted (not drove by) 5 or more drop boxes AND dropped of 9 or more ballots at each one AND took pictures of each drop (so they could prove it to get paid) AND visited at least two NGOs each time they drove the route to pick up ballots AND called the NGOs (and in a few cases the well known politicians like Stacy Abrhams). Second; they have video. Most of the drop boxes had video cameras. The know who they were, how many ballots they stuffed, what car they drove, how often they did it, saw them take pictures with their cell phones like an Amazon delivery guy... Third; they have extensive cell phone tracking (i.e. where they were, where they stopped, etc. AND extensive cell phone activity (i.e. who they coordinated these crimes with, namesm date and time, etc.) The documentary was perfect! A DA could simply use the evidence that they found and prosecute. An added gem from the movie. During the extended elections an incident happened that inadvertently confirmed that they were knowingly and intentionally breaking laws. A mule (unrelated to what the documentary showed) was prosecuted for ballot stuffing and the evidence against him was his fingerprints on the ballot envelopes. The next day the mules started wearing gloves to stuff the ballots!!! Boom!!! (mic drop).

The only thing you're missing is the actual evidence. OneGuy: A DA could simply use the evidence that they found and prosecute. Which is why in even the Trumpiest of Trump states, thousands have already been prosecuted. (By the way, you do know that you can't just fill out blank ballots and stuff the box. Each ballot is assigned to a specific registered voter.)

They actually have the evidence. They have the names, phone numbers, video, their travel as they committed, these crimes, who they colluded with by phone and who that person colluded with, the NGO's where they picked up the fake ballots, how many ballots were stuffed in these drop off sites, and more.
Why weren't any of these people arrested and brought to trial? That is the question of the century that follows the crime of the century. Why indeed? My best guess is that in those "Trumpiest of states" that coercion and intimidation is being employed by the DOJ and perhaps even a little payola to boot. It is like asking why since we know all the names weren't any of Jeffrey Epstein's wealthy and powerful clients and guests been at least named and perhaps investigated? But we know why, because our FBI is corrupt and our justice system is dysfunctional. "Each ballot is assigned to a specific registered voter" I have to admit I didn't expect something that stupid from you. Under "normal" circumstances the signature on mail in ballots is "attempted" to be verified. Under the rules put in place during the pandemic every ballot got counted even if they couldn't verify the signature. In Pennsylvania they got back 140,000 more mail in ballots than they printed and mailed out and they were all counted. I have to tell you that you are at a real disadvantage here since you apparently didn't see the documentary. You literally don't know what you are talking about.

"They" do? Where is this written down? Or is it only in the polemic they sell for $20? What court has adjudicated the claims? OneGuy: My best guess is that in those "Trumpiest of states" that coercion and intimidation is being employed by the DOJ and perhaps even a little payola to boot. It's not reasonable to suppose that would be true in every Trumpy jurisdiction. It's not plausible. OneGuy: Under "normal" circumstances the signature on mail in ballots is "attempted" to be verified. That doesn't address the point. You can't just print out ballots, fill them in, and submit them. They have to match a registered voter. OneGuy: In Pennsylvania they got back 140,000 more mail in ballots than they printed and mailed out and they were all counted. Evidence please.

Carney is clueless over his complicated feelings over Trump. His definition of rino places him firmly in the neo-con rino group. Just a small hint on definition of a rino Mr Carney ... There are 14 current republicans that supported the recent gun legislation. Those are rinos. There are republicans that would support another amnesty after all the amnesties of recent decades. Those are rinos Mr Carney. Starting to get a clue?

These guys will never admit that Trump was 'divisive' mainly because people like them overreacted to unimportant things he said. The policies were mostly good. I don't care about the distractions. The inside-baseball story on how the recently-signed Gun Control legislation was stealthily eased through the system by hiding it within another bill. If you thought that the 14 Republicans who made this legislation fillibuster-proof (thus guaranteeing its passage into law) were acting in your best conservative interests, then consider what lengths they went to in order to ensure their constituents and the watchdogs weren't able to see what they were doing - until it was too late.
