I'm sure the jars played a part, but the real collapse happened over hooking up the new audio-visual equipment.

It almost sounds like the Stanford bureaucrats cancelling social life are people who are still bitter that others enjoyed college while they didn't.

When I was in college, I did not belong to a sorority while I was at a VERY Greek oriented University. I knew a TON of people who just hated the whole Greek system. Admittedly, some of them came across as bit entitled, and some were truly badly, badly behaved. It didn't impact me. I never had any specific problems with the sororities or fraternities. I wasn't really interested in them and had a full social life outside of that circle. But I always had the sense that the haters were really just jealous that they weren't a part of it. I was one of the few people I knew of who had friends on both side of that great divide.

It's not just Stanford, but at all sorts of universities. Greek organizations are being disenfranchised. I find it sad, actually, each time my undergraduate school boots a fraternity or sorority out of a house they'd been in for decades and sends them to "Greek Row," which is miles away. The campus used to be ringed by fraternities and sororities. Not anymore. each one that gets booted out, has to build a new house on the (relatively) new Greek Row. Those old houses were beautiful neo-Tudor buildings....

Anyhow, it's been decades since I graduated. And some people my age are still bitter and not being in a fraternity or sorority. Really? That's stupid. But I guess those are the people in charge of housing and student life at Stanford.

This was way better than my planned comment. I agree they aren't moving the dial - except perhaps a bit in the opposite direction.

Come to think of it, maybe we should be encouraging Bill, and most especially Hillary, to help out the Democrats over the midterms. I'm sure they'll sway a lot of independents at this point.

I was scrolling through job postings for various airlines for REMOTE (work from home) customer phone service positions. And all the airlines who had jobs posted retired proof of vaccination AND booster.

A job for SOMEONE WORKING FROM HOME, who's NOT going to be strong other people.

There were lots of jobs posted...

They will always be short employees if they continue their vaccine mandate requirements. The solution is to reassign their gate slots to other airlines, foreign or domestic new starts. Let them downsize until they are gone.

The problem is pop-top beverage cans. No one has a church key anymore. Those small bottle and can openers are also used to gently pop the seal on a glass jar with a metal lid, making it easy to twist off the lid. And to pry off the canning lids, and open cans of evaporated milk.

In the kitchen I have at least a half-dozen of the bottle openers, including some that are labeled "Coors," "Lone Star," and "Schlitz." This collection does not include the ones in the two cars, or the ones in the tool boxes and fishing tackle boxes. I may have one in the bottom of a sewing box, too.

OK, the seal-popping trick was one of my life-long blind spots. My sneaky wife recently showed me the trick, and Shazam! life is beautiful. I'm adding a church key to my picnic kit, soonest.

Lithium, used in EV batteries, is a rare earth mineral. What that means is even in a lithium mine actual lithium is rare. To mine the amount of lithium needed for an EV the mine must dig and process 500,000 tons of earth. Just this process alone uses more oil (diesel) than an EV can possibly save in it's lifetime. Never mind all the other fuel intensive processes necessary to build and get that EV to you. Never mind the massive amount of fuel that will be used in it's lifetime to power generators to provide the electricity to charge those batteries. Never mind the very difficult and fuel expensive process of recycling that dead lithium battery when it ends it's useful life. Just this one initial and necessary function to create the EV defies all the claims about EV's being non-polluting and sustainable. They are not. They are far worse than gas powered cars.

The Ukraine is a waste of time and money. It is corrupt and a means of money laundering for the democrats and drug cartels. Its biolabs are a source of intrigue for the Gates, Fauci, and Pharma bros that prefer their "research" go unexamined and unregulated. And the Trump tariffs on China were working well with the tariffs to expand and increase if China did not revert to fair trade. It was a loser only for the corporatists who found China a great location to off load environmental and labor laws they didn't want to deal with in the US. And the election rigging, well just examine 2000 mules for a start.

The Pritzker family is the epitome of Fat-Cat-ism, the Governor of one of the most corrupt states as well as presiding over the sh*t-show that is Chicago. But the real shame here is in this supposedly hard-hitting story. The journalist is pretending to uncover the family's insidious work behind the scenes in the world of gender politics, but the story is a shining example of the Buried Lede. It's not until the 7th paragraph that the reader is informed of the primary reason the family is investing in such issues: Because the cousin is a transgendered male, who is using the family fortune to further the cause. Why not say that up front?

It's ironic how the whole story is about the deliberate confusion being sowed about the so-called gender spectrum, and here we have the journalist himself doing precisely the same thing with his own writing, in service of his subjects. It's not a spectrum - you're just trying to hide the fact that this is a male that's decided to make himself into an approximation of a female instead, and he want's everyone else to go along with it. And the best way to do that, is try to keep that fact quiet. A thousand Nopes.

Using so much of their family wealth to try and force normal people into believing their ideas are wrong. They could be using their money to help people that need their financial help to make it through life and not screw up their minds about sex and how it can be altered to fit the perverted need of people like the Pritzkers. It is sickening. And, they proved they don't have to follow what has been dictated on the masses as when JB ordered the state of Illinois to shut down from covid he immediately sent his wife and kids to one of their horse estates in states with no lockdowns. One in Wisconsin and another in Florida I believe.

The war in Europe is getting hotter. The Russians have literally said that they are considering using nukes in Europe and implied that they would use them against the U.S. too. China has made an open threat of using nukes against American forces and to nuke the left coast. We are on the verge of a great depression with all indicators looking really bad it is a toss up which one crashes first. Our president has destroyed our economy and caused food shortages and everything shortages and seems intent on making it all worse. The left/Democrats are ramping up their Summer of terror in our cities while the DOJ and large city police seem to be ignoring the problem.

All of this is because of lies told to try to steal the election in 2016 and told to undermine president Trump AND to steal the 2020 election. 100% of our problems today are due to the Democrats lying and cheating to get and retain power. We have never faced as serious a threat to our country as we face today. And it was all done on purpose. Crisis after crisis works in their favor as they can do things in the dark and force you to do things you would not ordinarily do. It isn't going to end it is going to get worse. Do you have a plan for when shit hits the fan?
