Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Why is Patterson changing his story? He was correct when he said there’s racism against old white males. Check out practically any writers contest or class and you’ll see “preference given to entrants of bipoc, marginalized groups, etc, and the “winner” even in euro-descent dominant places (this 99% white state where I live) the winner is always an immigrant or person of a so called marginalized group. Always. I don’t even bother to apply anymore.
I do worry that SJW tactics may end up gift-wrapping the country for genuine white supremacists in the long run, between a combination of self-fulfilling prophecies and the association fallacy.
Why is Patterson changing his story?
The irony is thick here. He changed his story because of racial discrimination!! He had the nerve the gall the stupidity to speak the truth and was slapped down. If he had been black or female or LGQT whatever he would have been praised. But he was white and he cannot say those things or the discrimination against him will be worse. So not only must he apologize he must debase himself and regurgitate the talking points that white people cannot be discriminated against. What sweet irony! It is not different from someone who is tortured and begs for their life, begs for the torture to stop; "please! I'll do anything, say anything you want, just stop torturing me". Most likely Patterson has already been told he must contribute a million dollars to BLM or some other grifter or he cannot get his life back. Shame on you for posting BS article from WEF Deep State FreeThink website about EV's. Total Snow Job! You feel for it!

Did you notice the disclosure at the end of the article that "The author owns various stocks tied to electric vehicles."? Doesn't make him wrong - factual information does that - but does undermine his credibility.
When the world's richest writer says: "...I apologize for saying white male writers having trouble finding work is a form of racism. I absolutely do not believe that racism is practiced against white writers."
And the United Nations announces: "...that it is working with scientists to develop a new name for the monkeypox virus that will not be “discriminatory and stigmatizing,” ...does that really mean that 'racism' is alive and well and being kept comfortable as it recovers its strength within the institutions of Progressive Culture? (and are scientists really being poorly utilized by tasking them with creating 'non-racist' names for diseases instead of finding cures?) More and more voters say: "Yes!" re The biggest myths about electric vehicles
Electric cars will overload the grid.Energy experts at the nation’s top laboratories say that’s nonsense. If all of the nation’s cars and trucks were electrified, demand would rise roughly 25%, but that increase would happen gradually – over years, if not decades – granting utilities time to adapt and add supply. That means we DON"T have the electrical capacity and the author hopes the environmentalists will drop their opposition to new power generation projects. The range of electric cars is still too small. The median range of an electric vehicle sold in the U.S. is around 240 miles. Considering that 99% of all trips are under 100 miles or so, and the average driver travels about 40 miles per day, existing EVs would easily cover almost all drivers’ daily needs. I strongly suspect range estimates are grossly overestimated. What about running with the a/c in hot weather or operating in the bitter cold? Or at altitude? What happens when people want to use their cars more 40 miles a day? People do more than use their cars to commute. Charging will always be too slow. Fast-charging time on EVs has rapidly come down, to the point where vehicles currently being sold can charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. If the infrastructure is there to do that. In most places it is not. We won’t be able to recycle EV batteries. Experts project that in about a decade or so, spent lithium batteries will start to pile up, demanding a recycling solution. About a hundred companies are currently exploring and commercializing their own methods, so a good, economical option may be in the offing. That means there is no way to recycle them. The author's statement is not myth busting. It's just wishful thinking. Wishful thinking. That pretty much sums up the entire piece. I was going to say pretty much the same thing but you beat me to it, feeblemind!
Good rebuttal feeblemind!
Seems that Every stop of the organ grinder music is being pulled to “convince” the public of this scam. Private enterprise built the petrol infrastructure that provides our personal and commercial transportation needs. Ticks me off that public spending is providing infrastructure for the climate fearful elite and go along folks being trendy. If you disagree with these numbers, then provide some evidence. Lots of recent stories about road trips using EVs...good data.
But you ask, "What happens when people want to use their cars more 40 miles a day?" I'd say the obvious answer is, they can around 240 miles, which is a pretty good margin. If you think challenging conditions cuts that in half, it's still a fair margin. So how is that even a question? The disdain for EVs is absurd. The world is not ready for all EVs, we know that. However, EVs can be fun. They are quick off the starting line, and they promise to usher in a new age of fantastic styling, instead of every car looking the same. We don't have disdain for EVs. We have disdain for mindless cheerleaders for EVs, who can't understand basic physics and why EVs are lousy, no matter how much magical thinking they apply.
Trust the CDC ... Like all the other government institutional grifters it is simply in for the money, control, and power. The 3 branches of government as known by the woke.
re State Department dumbing down its diplomat applications
QUOTE: The change is part of an effort “to modernize its hiring process to create a more inclusive workforce that hires the best talent and represents America’s rich diversity,” the agency said in an April 25 memo to candidates that has since been publicly posted. Who couldn't see that coming when they read the headline? The diplomats of the State dept are already a politicized sorry excuse. Look at their blundering in the Ukraine. They are as likely to create wars than to avoid them.
Meltdowns Have Brought Progressive Advocacy Groups to a Standstill
A long read. The gist of it is progressive advocacy groups are paralyzed by infighting. There is so much canceling, accusations of racism/misogny, homophobia ad nauseum that they can't get anything done. It's so bad organizations are having trouble finding people to run them, as they spend most of their time dealing with the infighting rather than the org's mission. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch. OTOH one wonders how much of this is going on in corporate America, and how that is hurting profitability and slowing growth? https://theintercept.com/2022/06/13/progressive-organizing-infighting-callout-culture/ "Lightyear star Chris Evans called critics of the movie’s gay kiss “idiots,” adding, “those people” are going to “die off like dinosaurs.”
This is how the left works. The "kiss" was put in their to offend and be in your face. Kind of a cinematic F___ you. And YOU are the idiot for even saying anything about it. Got that? The goal is to beat you down and force you to throw away your beliefs and feelings and not just embrace their weirdness but to support it 100%. IMHO LGBQT is a form and a symptom of mental illness. They are mentally ill and probably cannot be helped and as long as they don't cause harm to themselves or others they are tolerated. But the gay movement, in their mental illness, does indeed want to do harm to you and your children. After all "Lightyear" is a movie aimed at your children. It is grooming under the guise of entertainment. New York State, City Paid $200,000 For Drag Queens Reading To Kids At Public Schools, Records Show: WHY am I NOT surprised...

The gasoline shortage may soon take a sharp turn for the worse. One wonders if Biden is going to sign a decree forcing the oil companies to make gasoline out of thin air?
Biden Menaces Energy Industry With “Emergency Powers” QUOTE: Biden may resort to using emergency powers if American oil companies don’t increase output at their refineries, the president told oil CEOs in a series of letters Wednesday. The Regime does not say when it will impose emergency powers, only that it will be in the “near term.” The kind of government we live under now likes to keep people guessing. https://moonbattery.com/biden-menaces-energy-industry-with-emergency-powers/ Re: Former Ed Secretary Betsy DeVos: ‘I don’t think the Department of Education should exist’
Why should that be a controversial statement? The quality of education hasn't gotten better and in fact has gotten worse since the department was instituted - to improve the quality of education. I would disband the Department of Energy too. That department was supposed to help make us energy self sufficient Trump proved that we could be self sufficient in energy so there is no reason for that department any longer - just go back and do what Trump did. Fully agree with you about both. We've spent around $1T for Dept of Energy (a lot goes to previously NRC tasks) and for what? A handful of technologies that barely show any commercial impact? And now we're back in a severe energy crisis, with an even greater one looming.
Anyway, back to Dept of Ed. The question is not whether it should be eliminated, but rather how. I'd suggest the following. For a new President, over the course of 2.5 years Shrink the budget tremendously. Just enough to complete the following: A. Convene committees to review and provide a recommendation for K-12 textbooks. Every subject. Ensure that every text follows effective teaching, which will insist on techniques from 100+ years ago. Absolutely no "New math", no "Whole language learning" or "Why Johnny can't read" bullshit. No "Eat cabs/not fat". No "LBGQT is healthy". No CRT. No "Deconstructing colonialism in physics." Etc. Emphasize that you are utilizing work from a long legacy of progressive educators (from like 150 years ago) in your recommendations. Include some leftists on the committees and accept some token recommendations. Have two versions of texts published, a right-wing and a MOR version (but label it "Progressive". Make sure the public hears that there are partisan options for inclusivity. Give them an exclusive "US Dept of Education Approved" seal/endorsement. Push states and local school boards to insist on this seal of approval. B. Put out lots of PSAs that women college graduates outnumber men 3:2. Have editorials published commenting on this fact. Be wishy washy, don't go too crazy stirring up strife from either side about this. Just make this fact widely and commonly known. C. Put out a lot of PSAs and info that there are 400,000 Chinese students in US universities. Let people know the percentage of Chinese and Middle Eastern faculty. Get lots of editorials written about these. But here be partisan, very partisan. Sway public opinion that this is dangerous and should change. D. Eliminate the Dept in middle of year 3. Have the Cabinet member boast about what has been accomplished. Strike all funding from budget. If Congress approves funding, channel it to ROTC programs and PSAs on how great homeschooling is. Hopefully Pres gets re-elected then just keep the Dept dead and starved of all funding. The fed raised the rat 0.75% yesterday. Not nearly enough and not nearly soon enough. I predict that within two months the FED will acknowledge that they have done too little too late.
RE: The WHO Goes ‘Woke’ With An Effort To Rename The Monkeypox Virus To Avoid Being Racist And Discriminatory ...
Tedropox seems the obvious choice ... The Z-man noted the flood of black Republicans a while ago and predicted that CPAC was going to look like a Lawn Jockey Convention.
The J6 committee is trying to criminalize any effort by responsible people to acknowledge that there was massive voter fraud and to try to expose it and counter it. Did state representatives have a right to create their own electors for their state once they knew that the vote count was corrupt and the electors picked were part of the corruption? I don't know the answer but I'm pretty sure that should not be decided by the same corrupt group that stole the election. This issue should be decided in court, not a criminal court but a civil court.
Did the vice president have the constitutional ability to reject a states electors if he knew that the state election was corrupt and it was a massive crime? I don't know, the constitution is worded poorly about this. But at the least I would think that our elected and appointed officials should once they determine a crime took place try to expose it and prevent it from succeeding. Had Pence done what Trump wanted it would probably forced a SCOTUS showdown and brought this issue into the courts where it belongs. I do know that the people and the party trying to criminalize the effort to get to the truth were that same people and party who stole the election. |
