Assuming the Senate goes along, the printed $40 billion stays here in the pockets of the defense industry. It's just the weapons that go to Ukraine.

It just adds to the supply of money chasing a limited supply of goods and services. IOW will fuel inflation by some small amount.

Is it worth it? YMMV

In the video clip, neither makes a specific argument, just assertions. In any case, Friedman claims that "Inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon," but there are a variety of reasons why there might be a general rise in prices other than in an increase in the money supply. For instance, Russia is experiencing very high inflation due to economic sanctions.

Americans aren't "putting up" with increasing crime. That would imply that we have accepted it. Rather,our elected (and non-elected) officials are ignoring crime and just thumb their noses at the law. Example: 18 U.S. Code § 1507

Whoever, with the intent of interfering with, obstructing, or impeding the administration of justice, or with the intent of influencing any judge, juror, witness, or court officer, in the discharge of his duty, pickets or parades in or near a building housing a court of the United States, or in or near a building or residence occupied or used by such judge, juror, witness, or court officer, or with such intent uses any sound-truck or similar device or resorts to any other demonstration in or near any such building or residence, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.

There are also State laws in Virginia which criminalize protesting in front of someone's house and disturbing "the tranquility" of the residents. Yet so called "Law Enforcement" at all levels just ignore these laws which they were hired to enforce. In a just world, these people would be fired.

The government needs AGW and not just Global Warming. GW gives them no excuse to exercise control and power over the masses. All the politicians needed to do is BUY the results they needed to provide for Anthropomorphic warming. There are always plenty of available contractors to provide those results for a FEE. And, POOF, instant, but unfalsifiable, data. When the data is insufficient just ADJUST it a bit or begin collecting data from a convenient point.
AGW is a political position. More power, more control, and more money.
As long as glaciers are not intruding on my property we are doing just fine and food grows much better in the heat than in the cold and ice.
