A lack of awareness of what the Left is up to, and the lengths to which they are prepared to go, is no defense. Logic doesn't enter into it; you cannot reason with evil. Reagan put it well: "We win, they lose." There is no middle way.

We have family members that just do not understand the left's hate and that they are more than willing to destroy this country to get rid of us. Anyone awake and paying attention should be able to see if someone was planning to destroy the United States they really wouldn't do anything different than those in Washington plus their friends. I wish the clip of Joe Biden talking about getting rid of the white majority for perpetuity by having full unfettered immigration from other countries and cultures was shown weekly. He will be dead but our children and grandchildren will have to suffer due to his awful desires.

The Bible explains there is a time to hate, a time to go to war (Eccl 3:8). We've spent decades trying to accommodate leftists, only to find they have always wanted more, and remain just as hateful and vitriolic as before.

Now they are overt in their desire to destroy W. Civilization and the race that created it. They want genocide, and we're the target.

Existentially, simply musing over them is no longer an option.

A leftist is wanna be socialist and they embrace socialism but are aware they must hide it so they speak of equality. A socialist is a wanna be communist, the embrace communism but know they must spout platitudes about equity rather than tyranny. Communists don't hide their hatred of the kulaks/middle class and will jail you, charge you with crimes and confiscate your property. The Democrat party has become communist, many Democrat voters have become socialist and the schools are turning your children into leftists and then socialists. It is unlikely that we can recover from this. It will have to end in a communist revolution because they will not accept anything else. The only question is will those on the right fight while they have a chance of winning or will they wait until it is impossible to win?

I thought Kurtzman's essay on the Collapse of Science was very good and to the point: Our ability as individuals to reason and provide a foundation for our understanding of the world is under assault, and at least part of it is a deliberate effort. It aligns with the theme of many of the other stories here today.

I think David Mamet says it best: The Progressive Democrat ideas are a Death Cult. While once it was an attack on the family unit, now it's becoming even more literal, with mavens gushing about transgenderism and encouraging children to secretly begin transformation with puberty blockers and, at the vanguard, even surgery without their parent's knowledge. Incapable of reproducing, in other words: A Death Cult.

I wonder if one took the 'Pride inclusivity flag', the one with a colored stripe to represent each and every niche alternative lifestyle, and attached actual population numbers to each of these, if this would bring some clarity to the general population just how small a group of Identity Cultists has completely hijacked their culture, because their free license on the airwaves is well-defended and they are good at expressing their ideas and harnessing political capital, in spite of their illnesses.

I don't watch TV, but it's always shocking to me that nearly every TV commercial now features a bi-racial or gay or 'other' cast of characters, attempting to normalize the idea, I guess. We've become accustomed to seeing these things in modern society - but one simply has to look around to see that this is not normal, that these groups are statistically in low numbers - except on TV.

I keep hearing that the 2022 elections are going to be a rout. Well....maybe. If they are, it won't be because people are suddenly thinking Republican though. It'll be because they're sick of being told not to trust their own lyin' eyes, and have decided to keep trusting their eyes in spite of it.

How do you not hate someone that hates you, wants to see you and all your values dead? There does not seem to be a reasonable way to deal with the left. When all counter arguments against what they preach, are either ignored, (like trying to have an intelligent conversation with your dog) denounced as racist, or couched as some phobia, you are left wondering what to do. The people that follow the religion of the left have gone mad. I keep waiting for peak stupidity, but they find ways of raising the bar ever higher. I try my best not to hate, because I take the word of the Lord seriously. I can’t deny that the impulse to go medieval on them; fill the bucket with hot tar, lead a whole lot of politicians to the gallows, is becoming very hard to contain. Hate is easy. Don’t become like the left. Love will find a way.

The country has been locked into a Disney mode since at least the 60's. There is little ability to deal with reality to the point that we simply change definitions in order to continue on the road to dysfunctionalism. If a definition change doesn't work them create a new law or reinterpret the law. Let no reality intrude on today's feelgood.

If I didn't know better I might think that several of your links demonstrate a serious case of Wrongthink on the subject of the canonization of Zelenskyy - and by extension all of Ukraine - and the demonization of Putin and by extension all of Russia. It's almost as if you might think there's a massive propaganda campaign going on on both sides with Biden, Clinton, and the corporate press on one side pushing for a war between Russia and the West when we all know you can trust CNN, the NYT and the WaPo to give us the straight truth of the matter as to what's going on regarding Ukraine. You'd better watch it with the linking to skeptics of the conventional wisdom lest you be banned from respectable society as a pro-Putin, un-American traitor.

Re the Joro spider: I think that it is a shame that so many people dislike spiders so much. They are weird and strange, and not much like us (they have blue blood, for one thing--like crabs, which we eat), and although a few species can deliver a painful, even sometimes harmful sting, they are no threat to us. They're not like Africanized bees or Asian hornets. They are loners, and don't gang up on people.

A few years ago, I was getting ready to open my garage door and noticed a little jumping spider on it. I came closer to take a look at it. The spider turned around and looked at me, which I found striking. How many "bugs" do that? It turned out to be Phidippus audax, aka the "bold jumping spider". I made up my mind then to learn more about our small neighbors so I went on Amazon and searched for a college textbook on them. I came up with "Biology of Spiders" by Rainer Foelix, which I recommend to the curious.

We have a few orb-weaving spiders here in NJ but nothing as showy as Trichonephila. (We do have the "green orchard spider" (Leucauge), which though small, is exquisitely colored. Oddly, they always make their webs at a diagonal to the horizontal.) I've heard nothing that suggests that the Joro spiders would be anything but just another small wonder that Nature throws off for us to contemplate and enjoy, if we care to.

We've had banana spiders (Nephila clavipes) that look like the Joro ones in Florida for years. Wonder if birds think they are tasty.

Please link to the Babylon Bee about Justice Thomas getting invite for first black justice, pretty funny. Don't think Biden helped him either.

Black widows and Brown Recluse varieties aside, we have some great spiders in Texas. We have the iridescent-eyed jumping spiders. We have the crab spiders, I walk into their elaborate webs each morning, walking the dogs. They're really wild looking, different color chitinous shells with weird points on them - like a tiny crab. And then we have the yellow and black garden spiders and their webs. These spiders are about 3-4" across their leg diameter, colorful, great outdoor web builders. Looking forward to seeing the new psychedelic versions of these newly arrived spiders, once they get over here.

Joro spiders are said to eat stinkbugs (another invasive species) so they are welcome around my place.
