No. The current warming outstrips the temperatures of the Medieval Warm Period. (The current temperature anomaly is significantly higher than shown on the chart.) But the real concern is projected warming over the next few decades.

As noted, the current warming outstrips previous warming periods, but it is projected warming that is the concern.


That is a fallacy of presupposition. The questions have been asked and answered through the collection of scientific evidence. That you have your eyes and ears covered doesn't make the evidence go away.

Independent analysis of the raw data confirms the trend. For instance, see Rohde et al., A New Estimate of the Average Earth Surface Land Temperature Spanning 1753 to 2011, Geoinformatics & Geostatistics 2013. In addition, satellite observations, and observations from a variety of related fields, also confirm the overall warming trend.

Where exactly in the IPCC report does it say that? The specifics you mention concern the long term effects of global warming. It does state that the worst effects will occur if humanity fails to address the problem, but humans began to address the problem, albeit tentatively, in the aftermath of the 1989 IPCC report.

The evidence is pervasive, and includes different scientists, using different methodologies, from different countries, from different cultures, and working in different political systems.

Rohde (2013) was originally funded by the Koch Charitable Foundation. They continue to operate as a charitable foundation, and donors have no say in their activities or publications.

Mitigation will be important, but the world already has trouble dealing with current levels of migration. Climate change will cause even more severe political and social disruption.

There is no reason the American people can't pass legislation to end Obamacare. More than likely, they won't, at least without replacing it with an even stronger program. That's because Obamacare helps provide healthcare insurance to people who otherwise would not have coverage. It's like Social Security. The American people could end it, but they won't.

There are some work exceptions under the Immigration and Nationality Act. However, there is a large underground work economy, especially in agriculture and service industries.

Undocumented immigrants are not qualified for federal Medicaid or CHIP. Many undocumented immigrants avoid health care, including preventative medicine. They are only eligible for emergency care and child birth. Some states do attempt to fill the gap.

justMe: Mandatory jail time to be spent in the farmers fields picking crops and when harvest is over send them back home.

So, bring back slave labor.

That's called taxation with representation.

The vast majority of immigrants come to the U.S. to work. Indeed, you seem to have acknowledged such when you talked about agricultural workers, only you want to force them to work for free, rather than deporting them.

They elect representatives. It's up to the American people to decide who their representatives will be. But it turns out, it's hard to get elected when you advocate ending popular programs. (Also, some states could end Obamacare through direct democracy.)
