Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

I think the 150 days was because in his hubris he lied under oath again and again and again. Had he come clean he probably would have gotten no jail time
Harm to children:
"No sooner is Fauci memory holed, we have another then-and-now expert to take his place, to minimize the masks and the damage done? The following references some actual research: Prior to joining Haskins Laboratories as a Senior Scientist in June, 2019, Dr. Lewkowicz was a Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders at Northeastern University in Boston. At Northeastern, he directed the Communication Development Laboratory where he conducted studies on the development of speech and language in infants and young children. Through his studies, Dr. Lewkowicz and his students discovered that babies begin lipreading just as they begin babbling and this discovery has paved the way for the current studies in the lab investigating how early lipreading contributes to the acquisition of speech and language in infancy and beyond." This is just one study but it is compatible with my understanding of the Reading Science literature. I do not want to over generalize. Maybe the majority of children are resilient. My concern is about putting, at risk, the subset of children destined for reading disabilities, including dyslexia. > I feel the fine is ok, but 150 days is too much.
For what? If it was just filing a false police report, yeah. But that piece of offal SET UP his "beating" to make white Americans look like racist bad guys and to promulgate the notion that there is systematic racism in this country, giving more power to the post-modernists on the left. Frankly 150 days is too little for him. 150 days seems right to me. Think about all the passion his crime stirred up? I still remember all the tweets from liberal lefties, including the current Vice President, “We support Jussie!” The entire cast and crew of Big Bang Theory, shown at the end of a show, with their placard, “ Justice for Jussie.” Confirming their naturally held biases that all Trump supporters are racist, bigoted homophobes. He won’t serve all those days. He won’t have to show up for counseling, as would happen to a white someone who committed a hate crime. If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.
It's no thanks to Jussie that no one was killed or injured in retaliation. This could easily have triggered riots.
What ever happened to the envelope containing white powder sent to Jussie's place of employment. I thought the Post Office Investigation Branch was supposed to be working this crime?. Re "150 days is too much": What a tender-hearted soul you are. Vast amounts of money were spent investigating and prosecuting this loser, the police and Trump supporters were slandered, and in the end the slug never even admits any guilt. He'll walk out of there in five months with his choice of job offers, another win for playing the victim and making fools out those who respect and obey the law.
What ever happened to the crazy notion of expecting a bit more than that sort of narcissistic, antisocial behavior from our fellow citizens? We are under no obligation to lower our standards to accommodate the Justin Smoletts of this Nation. Better to send the signal to them that they need to up their game if they want to live among us. On-point. Chicago is being overrun by crime and the police don't need to be wasting time on the Fag Who Cried Wolf.
Canada just admitted that 7 in 10 covid deaths are full vaccinated, https://ninetymilesfromtyranny.blogspot.com/2022/03/government-of-canada-confirms-fully.html But the vax saves live.
Well, since you brought it up: 328836 new cases in New Zealand? One of the most restrictive places on earth. Masked and triple vaxed. How can this be? I’m glad the death rate is low.
Yes and Australia too. Just think both NZ and Australia citizens have been put through a living hell for 2 1/2 years and they are all going to get covid anyway. I know that Australians and New Zealanders are just too nice and lovely people to do what they should do (tar and feathers; guillotine) but at the least they need to vote those fools out and never let them near any kind of political power ever again.
OneGuy: Canada just admitted that 7 in 10 covid deaths are full vaccinated
Over 90% of the population 18+ is vaccinated, with near universal vaccination for those 70+; so, 70% is considerably lower than would be expected if the vaccine worked as a placebo. B. Hammer: 328836 new cases in New Zealand? (Per your link 209,867.) New cases are about 20,000 per day, but deaths are only at about 3 per day. Compare: Country, death rate per million U.S., 2965 New Zealand, 18 We can expect the New Zealand death rate to increase, but it will be nowhere near where the U.S. stands, which is still experiencing deaths at 1,000 per day. B. Hammer: How can this be? Widespread masking and vaccination efforts. You’re citing active, I’m citing total. Look further down, past the graph with the very large spike in cases as of February 2022. Masks, what are they good for? A true vaccine should prevent you from getting sick. As I stated, I’m glad the death rate is low.
B. Hammer: You’re citing active, I’m citing total.
You said, "new cases." Not a biggie. At 20,000 new cases per day, you're not far off. B. Hammer: Masks, what are they good for? Masks reduce the rate of transmission, therefore, the reproduction number of the virus. B. Hammer: A true vaccine should prevent you from getting sick. A True Vaccine™ like the smallpox vaccine is 95% effective, declining over time. A True Vaccine™ like the mumps vaccine is 90% effective after two doses. That's because some people do not develop strong immune responses, which is why widespread vaccination is so important for mutual protection. Could you PLEASE stop feeding the trolls? Zach just stinks up the forum.
Z: Over 90% of the population 18+ is vaccinated, with near universal vaccination for those 70+; so, 70% is considerably lower than would be expected if the vaccine worked as a placebo.
Wow! The vaulted Wuhan flu vaccines are better than saline solution! That is really something to be happy about. Now if it were only a little more dangerous than saline solution, we'd really have something! mudbug: The vaulted Wuhan flu vaccines are better than saline solution!
The difference is measured in lives saved. Also, the 70% figure does not appear to be correct. Referring to Table 2, the 10% of people 18+ who are not vaccinated represent 60% of deaths (before otherwise adjusting for age). Miscounting by US.
Shame you don't understand statistics. DrTorch: Miscounting by US.
• PCR tests are supported by whole-genome sequencing. Here's a phylogeny. • A rise in positive PCR tests for COVID-19 is soon followed by a rise in hospitalization and deaths due to respiratory distress. • The same correlation between positive PCR tests and the rise in hospitalizations and deaths is found in subsets (states, cities) and in other countries and regions. • Studies of death certificates supports the COVID death count. • Autopsies support the finding of a pandemic of COVID deaths. • The statistics of excess deaths support the COVID death count. • Excess deaths rise and fall with the COVID death count. • The statistics of excess deaths is also seen in subsets (states and cities) and in other countries and regions. Hmm. OneGuy's link says to look at Figure 5, but that indicates 63.4% of deaths are among the unvaccinated.
150 days too much?
Not at all. Let that be a lesson to all race-baiting hoaxers and attention whores that their actions have consequences. Unfortunately, the justly deserved consequences will never happen. He should fade into obscurity and end up washing dishes somewhere but I'm afraid we've hardly heard the last of him. I can't tell if this is a women's month story or a blackhistory month story https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10580805/Two-North-Carolina-care-workers-spared-jail-starting-FIGHT-CLUB-elderly-dementia-patients.html Maybe both.
Jussie has admitted nothing, and has shown zero remorse for his heinous act, which was an assault on all of us. Jailtime is appropriate. A bit more would have better.
Re: HOW LOW CAN THE TEACHERS’ UNIONS SINK?
I would say not much further but I’m probably speaking too soon. The column says the teachers’ unions have been at war with our children for the last two years. Given the steady decline in education results over the last forty years, I’d say that war is a lot older than two years and given the increase in money thrown at education (i.e. teachers’ unions), the war is also against the taxpayers. Re: I watched Russian TV so that you don't have to
But everyday Russians are the victims of his information war. They are like the Americans who endorse the Big Lie because all they watch is Newsmax... Exactly. The Big Lie: You can run the best campaign, you can even be the nominee, and you can have the election stolen from you. Hillary Clinton, May 2019 In re: Teachers' Unions -- Dog piling on FDR's disdain for public employee unions, and reflecting on the transition of teaching as a calling, and near-slavery for women to its current cushy state, I think of the adage, “Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket.”
Should young'uns wanting to teach be at the mercy of "teachers' agencies" that tracked desperate teachers to Bendo (Z. Henderson, q.v.)? If not, then why tolerate union and district rules that send newbies to failing urban schools? See, I avoided "sh*tholes" despite having witnessed them. 150 days is as nothing. Smollett should have been sentenced to whatever his mythical assailants would have received had his tall tales been true, plus the usual penalty for perjury.
Put this no-goodnik away for a long, long time, and ensure he doesn't find a nice cushy landing back in Hollywood when it's over. I'm with you. If someone is convicted of an actual hate crime they really get punished. This screaming piece of work cost a lot of time and money to catch the perps.
"150 days is too much"...way to little.
The cost to the government for these hoaxes is way to high to allow "wrist slaps". It is time to punish these professional liars. A day in prison for every 10,000 in direct costs plus a lifetime time parole. “…a chance to burnish her foreign policy credentials..”
I think he meant to say burn. I think 150 days is way too short for someone who fanned the flames of racial conflict in our country in this day and age.
He should have gotten several years for each charge, to be served consecutively. We need to nip these racial hate hoaxes in the bud. The punishment should be swift and severe. The time in jail was necessary. The Elite laugh off the fines, feel no loss of their Over-Esteem from public identification as a criminal (it's NEVER their fault, ya' see). Actual incarceration is the ONLY thing that has a possibility of smacking them in the face with the fact that what they did was a crime.
He may continue to think of himself as a victim. But, he will pay a price that he cannot buy his way out of. |
