Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Omicron can develop herd immunity to itself but to no other viruses. That's true of all diseases. The immune system learns to defeat that pathogen, but it does not learn how to defeat any other. And if the next evolutionary variant is different enough, say omicron becomes pi, it will defeat the antibodies developed for its ancestor.
Expect annual immunization shorts for covid, but only if it remains a serious disease. I don't think it's that simple
https://medicalxpress.com/news/2022-01-cells-common-colds-cross-protect-infection.html It's pattern recognition by your immune system, right? And there are multiple stages where this can occur. Seems like it works in our favor sometimes, but other times not (autoimmune disorders). flawed analogy time. Viruses are kind of like cars on the highway. Every year new models come out, but they're usually just modifications of the previous year's model with small changes. As long as the changes aren't too big, you can still tell, say, a Corvette from a Porsche 911. Over time, as these models evolve, the cues that identify the models change, so a 2021 911 or Corvette may not look much like the same model from the early 1960s, but you can still see the vestiges of the early models an recognize them.
You can also get cases like the 80s Cavalier/Sunbird/Cimarron, where though they have some differences, the underlying similarities are enough that you can recognize that they are all basically the same car. Every now and then a new model gets put on the market that you can't recognize, and you have to learn the essential features to identify it against the background of existing cars. The viral similarity is such that even though some of the surface antigens may differ across variants, there is still some commonality that your immune system can identify and attack. It's also possible to have cross-immunity, as sometimes different viruses share enough of the same surface proteins that immunity against one confers at least some immunity against the other, as in the historical Jenner Cowpox inoculation against Smallpox. "The January 6 Narrative"
It saddens me that our government has done this. Clearly this was planned by our government well ahead of Jan 6th. Was it just the FBI? I doubt it. To many coincidences with the Pelosi controlled capitol police that need to be explained. Remember the police literally invited the protestors in. My concern now is for the fate of these mostly innocent protestors AND our future considering our government has gone tyrannical. And now that we know Ashley Babbitt was in fact trying to calm things down and imploring the capitol police to secure the doors to the Senate Chamber it seems to me that she is a hero and not an insurrectionist. We need a real investigation not Pelosi's kangaroo court. OneGuy: we know Ashley Babbitt was in fact trying to calm things down and imploring the capitol police to secure the doors to the Senate Chamber
Uh, no, we don't. Babbitt was climbing through a broken window into the Speaker's Lobby with direct access to the House chamber where members were sheltering. One doesn't "implore" the police by climbing through a broken window moving into the interior of the building. Quibble-DickZ at it again. We don’t know if Ashli Babbitt was actually climbing through a broken window. We do know DCP Lt. Michael Leroy Byrd shot her and he later refused to cooperate with internal affairs agents or FBI agents, who jointly investigated the shooting.
https://nationalfile.com/report-cop-killed-ashli-babbitt-cleared-without-formal-law-enforcement-interview/ Why would this be a big issue to you? The only issues you defend are the phony far left talking points. OH! That's right, the proof that this is a phony far left talking point is that it is an issue for you to defend.
Was she trying to enter through the broken window OR did she dislike that someone had broken the window and was trying to block it. Her actions and statements prior to blocking the window support the theory that she intended to block it and was angry that the police weren't doing that. Did Ashley deserve to be executed, for climbing through a window?
OneGuy: Why would this be a big issue to you?
Because it's the truth. OneGuy: Was she trying to enter through the broken window OR did she dislike that someone had broken the window and was trying to block it. If you are trying to block entry, you would normally face those trying to break through. The video clearly shows her passing through the window before she was shot. OneGuy: Did Ashley deserve to be executed, for climbing through a window? She was shot because she was at the tip of a mob who had been threatening harm to members of Congress. Once the mob broke through, it might not have been possible to stop them. They could have killed or captured members of Congress. Perhaps it could have been avoided. Perhaps. Perhaps Babbitt should have stayed home, or stayed outside the Capitol, or at least not have tried to climb through the broken window at the head of a mob intent on attacking members of Congress. Truth has never mattered to you.
You have repeatedly posted the same dishonest takes even after seeing irrefutable evidence that you're wrong. So this was really just another lie from you. We see that you posted a comment, but a null is returned for relevant content. You may want to check your settings.

Perhaps the murderer DC Lt. Michael Leroy Byrd shouldn't have violated all the procedural LEO standards for the use lethal force.
Again thanks for the video, Quibble-DickZ. Video shows moment woman was shot in U.S. Capitol riot
"As a rule of thumb: Any part of a building that requires you smash out the windows and break down the doors to access...it isn't currently open to the public." But it was an Antifa thug who broke the window. Ask yourself why didn't the capitol policeman shot the one breaking the window? Hmmm!!
IMHO anyone who broke the law, including the police and Pelosi, should face justice. BUT the government is hiding 20,000 videos and you have to know that they wouldn't be hiding them if those videos supported their claim of an insurrection. Sooner or later these videos will be released and when they are if they show that police and prosecutors lied to put innocent people in jail there will be a shitstorm of payback. What it shows is the moment that the cowardly Lt. Michael Leroy Byrd murdered Ashli Babbitt.
Almost point blank. Thanks, Quibble-DickZ. The same Lt. Michael Leroy Byrd, that left his pistol in the bathroom. The same Lt. Michael Leroy Byrd, that refused to submit to any interviews concerning the shooting of Ashley Babbitt, and was cleared of any wrong doing in both instances.
Someone has friends in high places. Notice the Capitol Police being led away from the door and leaving it unguarded as if to invite an incident.
Thanks for the video, Quibble-DickZ.

OneGuy: But it was an Antifa thug who broke the window.
Chad Barrett Jones was charged for breaking the window, using a Trump flag to do so. Before he was arrested, he wanted to explain “why it all was happening and why it was a hoax.” There is no evidence Jones is anything but a Trump supporter. He will have his day in court. You can read the charging affidavit here: https://www.justice.gov/opa/page/file/1355956/download In the affidavit, “ JONES called himself an idiot.”
Why did you leave that out? Does Jones deserve extra charges for being “anything but a Trump supporter”? Is that all he does with his life, support Trump? B. Hammer: Does Jones deserve extra charges for being “anything but a Trump supporter”?
No. That was in response to OneGuy who claimed Jones was Antifa, but the evidence is that he was a Trump supporter. As for charges, we provided the charging affidavit above. He is charged with the following federal offenses:

I notice that you didn't answer the question as to if Ashley deserved a death sentence for what appears to be climbing through a window. You gave all the reasons that she was shot, but I wanted to know if YOU think she deserved a death sentence for that momentary lapse of judgement.
I will note that from the affidavit that you posted, the FBI agent stated that the congressional chamber was cleared beginning at 2:20pm. As far as I can determine, Ashely was shot around 2:45. Also there was a contingent of officers coming up the steps and clearing the stair way, moments after Ashely was shot. So your claim that officer Boyd shot Ashely because: (Z) QUOTE: ...it might not have been possible to stop them. They could have killed or captured members of Congress. doesn't hold water. Non of the rioters were armed, nor does the affidavit mention threats to congressional members. Shouts of f the blue, don't align with Trump supporters.

B. Hammer: I notice that you didn't answer the question as to if Ashley deserved a death sentence for what appears to be climbing through a window.
It wasn't a death sentence, but an action to prevent the mob from reaching the Congress. It would have been better if non-lethal means could have been deployed, but options were running out to protect the Congress. It is certainly arguable whether it was necessary to shoot Babbitt, but it is not reasonable to assert that she was trying "to calm things down." She was part of a violent, seditious mob. B. Hammer: You gave all the reasons that she was shot, but I wanted to know if YOU think she deserved a death sentence for that momentary lapse of judgement. It wasn't momentary. The day before the riot, she tweeted, “Nothing will stop us ... they can try and try and try but the storm is here and it is descending upon DC in less than 24 hours ... dark to light!” B. Hammer: I will note that from the affidavit that you posted, the FBI agent stated that the congressional chamber was cleared beginning at 2:20pm.As far as I can determine, Ashely was shot around 2:45. And you still, as usual won’t answer the direct question. It’s a simple yes, or no.
You say it was a seditious mob, yet not one charge of sedition has been filled. Oh gee whiz. Quibble-DickZ, what a perfect name. CNN as a source? Oh gee whiz. You might as well link to the Telly-Toon network.

Babbitt did not commit any crime that would warrant a "death sentence." But this wasn't a criminal court proceeding, but a situation of defending members of Congress from imminent harm. The officer was cleared on the use of force. It is reasonable to question the use of force, but it's not evident how else they could have prevented the mob from reaching members on the House floor. B. Hammer: You say it was a seditious mob, yet not one charge of sedition has been filed. Read Babbitt's own tweet. Meanwhile, Seditious conspiracy: 11 Oath Keepers charged in Jan. 6 riot

Imagine that 11 oath keepers actually conspired to commit sedition. They had all the tweets, texts, posts and phone records by Jan 7th so they knew this for a year. What were they waiting for??? This is a serious charge not trespassing why wait a year to charge them AND why do it after being criticized for exaggerating the claims but while only charging trespassing? The answer is obvious. By the time this gets to court and the evidence is made available the 2022 election will be over and THAT is the purpose of this bogus charge.

No mention of Meatloaf's passing?
Maybe that rates it's own entry. QUOTE: Though it's cold and lonely in the deep dark night, I can see paradise by the dashboard light. IRS Will Soon Require Biometric Data from Taxpayers
QUOTE: Starting this summer, creating an account on the IRS website will require a photo of your government identification as well as a video for facial recognition purposes to be submitted to a third-party company. According to CNBC, an account with the government contractor, ID.me, will not be required to pay taxes. “The IRS emphasizes taxpayers can pay or file their taxes without submitting a selfie or other information to a third-party identity verification company,” the agency said in a statement. “Tax payments can be made from a bank account, by credit card or by other means without the use of facial recognition technology or registering for an account.” Don’t run to thank the taxman yet — your personal biometrics must be handed over to access functions on the IRS website. Without this access, taxpayers may not be able to see their tax transcripts or check on payment agreements. https://www.westernjournal.com/irs-will-soon-require-biometric-data-taxpayers/ How long before we have to submit our "biometric data" to collect a refund in order to "prevent fraud"? However long, it's still likely to be less than the time required to establish an enforced photo-ID-to-vote nationwide.
Anyone who watched that video of Biden in his press conference would understand how far gone his mind is. It was clear when he was asked a question he didn't want to answer, he wandered off into the rhetorical weeds and then forgot what the question even was. It could be obfuscation on his part, but I've seen dementia up close and personal and I know what I'm seeing in him.
Jordan Peterson Resigns University Post, Says ‘Radical Leftist Trinity’ Is ‘Destroying Us’
https://thefederalist.com/2022/01/20/jordan-peterson-resigns-post-says-radical-leftist-trinity-is-destroying-us/ I thought for sure that TSA report was a Bee sting, but apparently not. I'm surprised Z hasn't explained to us yet why it makes total sense to accept an arrest warrant as I.D. to allow someone to board a plane. It makes even less sense than allowing it as I.D. to vote, which I'm sure is on the drawing board if not already in effect in the woker parts of the country.

The Durham vs Horowitz investigation is very well covered at the Conservative Tree House (Last Refuge) in a post made yesterday. They build the case from its beginnings and show what each has found out so far and what differs between their findings so far. A great piece to brush up on the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax.
If Omicron creates herd immunity...
First, catch your rabbit. These assumptions of puppies and kitties and unicorns and rainbows used to be for liberals. I really can't see how to blame Trump for this, but this sort of magical thinking does coincide with the people he brought in thinking they were the smartest people in the country. They aren't too cynical and skeptical - they aren't cynical and skeptical enough. You beg the question.
Does the vaccine create herd immunity? NO! Do masks and 6 feet of social distancing prevent the spread? No! Can we stop the spread of this virus? NO! So why continue to punish the citizens with useless politics? Why quibble over Omicron or the next breakout? Why did we do any of this for two years and now the CDC is admitting they were always lying to us? Why should we believe the next politically motivated proclamation? We don't care what you think. We don't care what the alzheimers poser living in the White House thinks. We don't care what the lying liars at the CDC think. STFU and return to a constitutional republic. None of this would have been necessary had the government not banned Ivermectin and Zinc. Many thousands of Americans died needlessly because of that, and are still dying. Now we find Ivermectin is an anti-cancer drug as well and it's getting hard for me to place the blame on big Pharma. Where's that photo of Josef Mengele - and all the other Nazi doctors who experimented on their people - being hung at Nuremberg?
reason 1...there is no money in ivermectin compared to a new creation.
reason 2...ivermectin would be considered a treatment for covid, therefore no emergency use authorization would be allowed for the vaxx. These don't support build back better movement. I wish I was doing Manchin's speech writing; something like yes, Mr Schumer, I do know a coal miner by his first name, yes Mr Schumer I do shop at Walmart, yes Mr. Schumer... Senator from West Virginia for ever.
