Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Smollett:
It’s easy to laugh and mock, but it only takes a few morons to start a riot. Chicago was spared, in more ways than one, by the polar vortex. Thankfully, by insisting on following his time line, despite the polar vortex, JS undermined his own credibility. But, it was a very close call; I shudder to think what could have occurred if he had been just slightly more competent. Also, where is the US Postal Investigative Unit? Was the investigation into the threatening letter sent to JS, containing an unknown powder, conveniently dropped? Wow. I forgot all about that. But, it is so hard to keep up with all the lefty driven fake hate crimes. Let me go burn a rainbow flag, and make national news.
Sometimes the 'tell' for a fake hate crime, or the desire to take advantage of 'targeted victim' advantages, is when the 'victim' calls attention to their plight as "a Black man/woman in America". That's the signal - it's a demand to be treated as an underclass, whether the situation calls for one or not, they're claiming it. The new US Attorney in Massachusetts tried out the same BS on camera this week - and she was raised in an Upper MC home, complete with private school education.
Fake hate crimes are necessary because an actual white supremacist is rarer than a dodo bird. It is just one story after another where some minority is attacked or nasty things scrawled on their door and it turns out to be the "victim" themselves that did it. I have to confess I did n't believe in "false flag" events and kinda wished people wouldn't make those claims. But now it is obvious that it is real. It may well be the case that everyone who actually did damage and assaulted the police at the capitol on Jan 6 was in fact a FBI agent, informer or left wing activist who was directed to be there by left wing leaders. When you take into account the terrible treatment and conditions for the Jan 6th political prisoners it begins to take on a flavor of the old Soviet Union under the KGB.
My prediction on the Smollett sentencing phase: He will cry in court and beg for mercy. Play all 52 race cards and only kinda sorta admit it was all a hoax. His mother's influence and Chicago's corrupt political environment will get him little or no jail time and perhaps just "community service". After which he will stand in front of the cameras and recant any confession and insist he was really the victim and that the result of his trial proves how racist the country and the justice system is. Then every left wing media outlet and reporter will take his side and forever his case will be used to show how racist America is. I deal with teenagers and 20somethings every day and have for over 20 years. There is NOTHING that you can say to insult one of them more effectively than calling (the white ones) racists. I don't know what they feel down deep. But I do know that they will twist themselves into knots to avoid looking like a racist.
So I don't think that there has ever been a better time to be a minority than at this moment in American history. To me, that is why you get these desperate attempts at fake hate crimes. If you can't make it as a minority now, it darn sure isn't because someone white is holding you down. So why not fake a hate crime to take the heat off your own failure? The day after the news reports that there are over 100k ‘voters’ on the Wisconsin voting rolls, ‘voters’ that are all over 100 years old, Kamala is going to lecture us on the dangers republicans pose to Our Democracy? America is practically the only country in the world that doesn’t require an id to vote, allows non-citizens to vote, and yet we need to pass more legislation that makes it even easier to vote? Good grief. At the same time, the evil party try’s to make vaccine passports a thing. Maybe you should have to show your vaccination card to vote?

Democrat Mayor finally calls out the ‘800 lb gorilla in the room,’ his own party’s rampant racism

To thwart a libel suit, Facebook's lawyer's are claiming that their fact checkers are merely offering opinions, not facts. How does that impact their section 230 status? https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2021/12/stunning_facebook_court_filing_emadmitsem_fact_checks_are_just_a_matter_of_opinion.html#.YbNexswVcwA.twitter I believe that the sequel should be titled "The Democrat's Seventies Show". It's more congruent with the reality of what happened.
If you like Yellowstone for the hands-on factor, then you'll love Homestead Rescue. Three experienced homesteaders go to failing homesteads and help them build missing important elements that you need for survival. I have a love hate relationship with it because I have issues with helping complete idiots. Literally, some people fled the city not having a clue that they needed water. The skills and attitude are real though.
