Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Interesting watch
https://www.pbs.org/wnet/amanpour-and-company/video/anti-racism-has-gone-too-far-says-john-mcwhorter/ "...The outlet “took the unusual step of correcting and removing large portions of two articles”.
Now isn't this a very interesting spin on the WaPo edits. Rather than craft an honest story about their shabby reporting, lack of journalistic curiosity, indelible antipathetic Trump bias, or poor trade craft, instead they go back and 'correct' the article in the archive - by removing the bits they could be sued for. Note also that this breast-beating took place in.... wait for it... the 'Style' section. FBI Immediately Leaks Project Veritas Internal Documents to New York Times After O’Keefe Raid
Importantly, the FBI also leaked confidential attorney-client privileged materials to the NYT. The NYT is currently being sued by O’Keefe. This breach of confidentiality presents serious issues for the court in that litigation. I'm thinking a little more caution is warranted here - coincidence doesn't necessarily equal cause & effect, although it's convenient to assume so. The documents published by the NYT are a few years old and there's nothing from PV declaring that this material was on the equipment (phones) that were seized, so... I'm a little skeptical when it comes to mis-directions that are intended to result in frustration and anger. If PV hasn't said anything to clarify and tie these leaks to their equipment, then there's a reason for it - it benefits their cause to stay quiet.
Shipwreckedcrew is an ex US Attorney with many years of experience working with the FBI. He gets accused frequently of being too quick to defend the FBI, but he also seems to be one of the few that have actual experiences over the years to draw from; I've never seen another commenter declaring experience and taking different views about the FBI, put it that way. He is frequently critical of the tactics employed by today's FBI. https://twitter.com/shipwreckedcrew/status/1459193226649161730 So, raid the NYT. A conspiracy to violate civil rights is a much stronger factual predicate than was a stolen diary.
I'm not a lawyer, but since the NYT is currently being sued for libel by PV, I would have thought that antics like this while the suit is in litigation would anger a righteous judge into forcing them to disclose the source of this information or applying some other kind of sanction.

It is literally incredible that the FBI raided Project Veritas so that they could give the NY Times inside information that they can use to destroy Project Veritas. But you have to understand this goes far deeper than helping the NY Times. Project Veritas was shedding too much sunshine on the dirty tricks and communist tactics of the left/democrats. They had to be stopped and destroyed.
I still do not understand how the hundreds of honest FBI agents can accept this. If they cannot expose it a t least resign and don't be part of this corrupt organization. The FBI has become Obama's Stasi. Maybe, we should infer that there are not hundreds of honest FBI agents?
50 years of predictions that the climate apocalypse is nigh...Followed by 50 MORE years... Ja!

Only 50 years? How about 120 years: https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2014/08/120_years_of_climate_scares.html Re:FBI Immediately Leaks Project Veritas Internal Documents to New York Times After O’Keefe Raid
What would one expect from a criminal organization? https://www.manhattancontrarian.com/blog/2021-11-12-do-you-have-any-doubt-that-the-fbi-is-fundamentally-a-criminal-organization One of my pet peeves is the sites that overdo the advertising. It is normal to see an entire sidebar full of ads and even left and right sidebars full of ads. But now more and more sites have popup ads and often they popup as you are trying to read the article that you went to the site to read. The popups cover the article or move the page up or down so you have to scroll back to where you were reading. And even more malicious ads that take up half the page and so you scroll and the ad seems to know that you are trying to read so it disappears which causes the article to scroll out of sight and you then scroll it back so you can continue to read and voila the ad pops up again causing your article to scroll out of sight again, and on and on. I swear these intentionally malicious ads make me unwilling to buy anything they are advertising not just right then but forever as long as I live. Did they really think these bizarre antics would endear them to us?
St. Paul's attempt at rent control is proof of Sowell's observation that the First Rule of Economics is scarcity and the First Rule of Politics is to ignore the First Rule of Economics. In order for these schemes for government control of the economy to work, you're going to have to re-institute slavery in order to demand that producers keep supplying goods and services at a loss. But what can you expect when lying, ignorant, parasitic weasels like Jen Psaki declare that it is "unfair and absurd" that corporations would pass the cost of higher taxes on to the consumer, that corporations should be expected to just eat the cost of taxes.
Having lived in Minnesota for nearly 40 years of my life it is hard to watch the state descend into political chaos and ultimately suicide. Add political progressives like Humphrey and Mondale to the current batch of communists and add the new diversities to the recipe while mangling Christianity and no one should be surprised that it begins to resemble California...but with snow, cold, and icefishing. The only upside is that Al Franken left the state.
What grounds, what law did Project Veritas violate for the FBI to be raiding their property?
The warrant was issued after PV gave the alleged diary to law enforcement. O'Keefe said, "He said they turned the diary over to law enforcement after an attorney for Ashley Biden refused to accept or authenticate it." *from NBCNEWS.COM This smells bad. Is there any reason for the FBI to exist? Their entire history reeks of corruption. QUOTE: “You would assume that if the CDC was going to crush the civil and individual rights of those with natural immunity by having them expelled from school, fired from their jobs, separated from the military, and worse, the CDC would have proof of at least one instance of an unvaccinated, naturally immune individual transmitting the COVID-19 virus to another individual. If you thought this, you would be wrong,” Aaron Siri, a lawyer who sought the records on behalf of the network, said in a blog post. The CDC’s disclosure drew responses from several medical experts, including Johns Hopkins Dr. Marty Makary, who said it underlined how little data the agency has released concerning the recovered. https://www.thethinkingconservative.com/cdc-no-record-of-naturally-immune-transmitting-covid-19/ |
