Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

"This Biden socialist cadre who engineered these self-induced calamities has no clue about the damage they have done to America."
Disagree. They know exactly the damage they've inflicted because it's exactly what they want. QUOTE: Trickle-Down Bidenism: Fuel Prices, Inflation, and Border Chaos The supply chain disruptions are global, and due to the damage from the pandemic and the rapid return to economic growth. QUOTE: Retribalizing America “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. … They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people,” Wrong as usual.
The disruptions are due to the reaction to the pandemic. And that's a choice made by regulators. You do nothing but spread misinformation and lies. DrTorch: The disruptions are due to the reaction to the pandemic.
The disruptions are global and predate the Biden administration. Another logical fallacy.
Labeling everything as "disruptions" is a false equivalence. The Biden administration is responsible for a number of significant disruptions, wholly separate from other events. You're wrong again, liar. DrTorch: The Biden administration is responsible for a number of significant disruptions, wholly separate from other events.
Certainly that is a more defensible position than it's all his fault. Victor Davis Hanson blamed Biden for the rise in gasoline prices, when they are expected to rise as the economy picks up, and are well-within historical norms. https://www.energy.gov/sites/default/files/styles/full_article_width/public/2021-08/fotw1199.png Then he complained about litter in his neighborhood. https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/facebook/000/019/304/old.jpg

As to logical fallacies, calling someone a liar when they are at worsst merely wrong is officially called "poisoning the well."It's on the approved list of fallacies to be avoided.
As to calling yourself doctor, I notice you have lost the perspective, humility, and sense of humor to notice that you might at least graciously, and sheepishly, grin that it is thou who hast taken the title, when accusing others (inaccurately) of dispensing medical advice. I was poking you, not slapping you at first, because it was ironic. But you doubled down and were merely insulting again. Up your game.

You show evidence of your moniker in every post, I do the same.
After reading your posts, filled with the same content you criticize others for, I just started skipping anything you write. Consider it my grace to you to recommend you do the same with mine. "Russiagate has fallen apart, with special counsel John Durham exposing the notorious Steele Dossier as a collection of lies and made-up stories. But you wouldn’t know it by reading most of the media, which have mostly ignored the story."
Starting with Russia-gate and following on with one myth after the other up 'till the Hunter Biden 'Russian disinformation' story, and the hyperboles issued after January 6th, the Legacy MSM has not recanted, clarified, or drawn attention to any of these fables. And therefore: They will do it again, should Trump run, and they will do it to other Conservatives, and they will continue targeting individual citizens and figures, attacking normative culture until their business dries up. They are incapable of internal reform. Reserve your clicks and your business for outlets you endorse! CNN is already under a million viewers for each and every show they air. It's working, and in a little while, they won't be. QUOTE: ‘Experts’ struggle to explain why the free state of Florida has half the Covid case rate of masked and vax mandated California New confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Florida and California. QUOTE: Biden’s Generals Are Fighting the Last COVID War We largely agree that new anti-virals will bring the worst aspects of the pandemic to an end, at least in the developed world. However, while Phase 3 trials have been completed with very good results, Pfizer's Paxlovid is not yet approved by the FDA. When approval comes, it will be in the form of an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA), with a lag to ramp up production. In the meantime, vaccination remains the best line of defense. Vaccination is also generally safer than treatment after infection. You are not a physician and are giving medical advice.
Advice that is not supported by data. Your lying is dangerous as usual, but more obvious. DrTorch: You are not a physician and are giving medical advice.
The CDC recommends COVID vaccination. https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/hcp/acip-recs/index.html As for Pfizer's anti-viral, Pfizer will apply for an EUA. https://www.biospace.com/article/with-overwhelming-data-pfizer-halts-antiviral-study-and-plans-to-seek-eua-for-paxlovid/ Both your accusations are unsupported, Torch. He is giving medical information, not advice. And he's not the one calling himself "doctor" I might add.
He is not lying. If he is wrong, you might show where. MF is now full of people who refuse to believe very simple data because it conflicts with their belief of what should be true. The very definition of an unscientific, and usually dishonest attitude. Florida is eighth-worst in deaths per million. Georgia may pass them soon. They actually have not done terribly, especially recently, though. They targeted vaccines for the elderly and their caregivers, because they have an elderly population. They had a terrible spike, but it has abated. The experts are actually quite aware of this, even if the Washington Post and Joe Biden aren't. Blah blah blah.
I might provide the data, or I might not. Zachriel is a repeated liar and deserves no time whatsoever. That I choose to give his posts any is solely my choice. As for your blather about unscientific beliefs, well save it for the mirror pal. I've been reading the science and researching the best data I have access to. And do you have a point about me calling myself "Dr."? And you are happy to believe the data the administrative state provides on covid and what they provide and manipulate on global warming? They have already been caught changing definitions where it suits them. You do remember 2 weeks to flatten the curve. You do remember mask on, mask off, mask on, etc,. You should have a good idea of the administrative state, endless lying on russia, russia, russia? The administrative state will stop at nothing to continue exercising its power...it will lie at the drop of a hat. And you complain we don't believe in simple data.
Irrelevant. I notice that you can't stay on topic. If you stick to one at a time, y'all are going down in flames. The CDC has nothing to do with climate, nor does the FBI. When people start railing about this massive "they" who are lying to us then they have just become cranks.
The word "state" is important. All the skeptics are focusing on distant, impersonal federal agencies and cherry-picking a few terrible decisions. But look at your own state. Is New Hampshire lying about covid deaths? I can't see where, and I know people at lots of those hospitals. Try the intellectual exercise of reducing this to your own state's data. Flatten the curve and masks on/off, when the disease was new and everyone was guessing as best they could? From 18 months ago? You are seriously bringing that up as an argument after over a year of skeptics believing in ivermectin, or that vaccines are killing people, or that "it's just the flu," or that masks are child abuse or any of a dozen other false covid issues? How do you expect to be taken seriously? We have lost over 800,000 Americans. Deaths increased 16% in 2020 and are doing the same in 2021. Masks and distancing work some - exactly as predicted. Antivaxxers continue to spread crap, but now previously sensible people are believing them. And you are telling me that bad climate information is the problem? Don't help any schoolkids with their science homework, okay?

What you can't seem to accept is that the administrative state consists of the FBI, DOJ, CDC, NIH, FDA, NASA, State dept, EPA and a myriad of other agencies that simply can not deal with the real world that does not support Woodrow Wilsons expert class administrative state. The admin state is as radicalized as the academic state. The admin state is slowly but surely being outed on its russia, russia, russia collaboration with Hillary. And once again they are bringing in old Al Gore to prop up the AGW cause while the elitist drop into a climate party to determine our life while they cruise around in private jets and yachts. And now they promote and manipulate data that they hoped would shut down the country while they buy into the pharma/health care emergency that only stuffs endless stacks of money into their coffers while their "vaccines" are killing and mutilating people in the thousands. And you feel outraged that we don't except the admin state "data". Is New Hampshire lying about covid deaths...who's definition of cause of death are they using? Definitions have meanings and they keep changing the meanings. And Ivermectin is a problem...it is a protease inhibitor like the new drug from Merck and the recent new drug from Pfizer. The work the same way as Ivermectin. Their problem with Ivermectin is that it works just as well if not better and it has a long history of use as a drug in human use that shows no side effects. And it is cheap. I do not intend to convince you of anything as the new government sciences seems to be your religion...and I am not a missionary.

The VDH article is very depressing. America, another tragic story of the destructive properties of socialism? There doesn’t seem to be a single competent person in the entire FJB administration.
I can only say that they may well be quite competent and this is exactly what they want. Remember that most of the Biden administration have a long history and an agenda of communism and hatred of America. This is really Obama's third term, Obama hates America and is most likely the son of his communist father figure Frank Marshall. Obama was groomed to destroy America and that seems to be what he is doing.
Here is another example: "Joe Biden’s nominee for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), a branch of the Treasury Department that polices some 1,125 banks, is a communist ideologue named Saule Omarova. She is directly from communist central casting and literally from Kazakhstan in the former Soviet Union. Ms. Omarova graduated from Moscow State University in 1991, and Joe Biden nominated her for the OCC job in September." https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2021/11/09/treasury-department-nominee-says-biden-administration-purposefully-wants-to-bankrupt-oil-coal-and-gas-companies/
OneGuy: a communist ideologue named Saule Omarova
Omarova denies being a communist, saying, “My grandmother was orphaned because Stalin sent her entire family to Siberia, and they died there. Her family was destroyed because they were educated Kazakhs who didn’t join the party.” QUOTE: Kiddiez: Omarova denies being a communist Well that's convenient, hey KiddieZ. Bwaha!

So, I'm kinda stumped, maybe you can clear this up. Is she the only qualified candidate? I mean do we have to pick a communist because no one else is qualified? If there are actual Americans who are qualified why are we putting foreigners in our government and why communist foreigners? Surely if Biden wasn't intentionally stacking his administration with people dedicated to destroying the U.S. he could have picked an honest American who was without a left or right bias to do the job. But Nooooo! He goes to the foreign communist well for his choice. Explain that.

You can read her words here: https://thesilicongraybeard.blogspot.com/2021/11/biden-nominates-yet-another-commie.html
and she doesn't come across as a capitolist but is in fact a communist wanting to destroy America. I am confident that is why she was chosen but you seem to think perhaps that Biden simply doesn't know this person well enough to know what she thinks.

The U.S. already has fiat currency and fractional reserve banking. While we don't necessarily agree with the proposal, it's not communism.

So, then you agree that Biden simply doesn't know this person well enough to know what she thinks. She wants to eliminate banks and make energy companies go bankrupt. And you had no comment on my point that there should have been other qualified people for this job, people who were American and didn't write their thesis defending and acclaiming Marxism. I would think an honest commenter would want to put in their 3 cents (sorry, inflation don'tchaknow) on these points.

We addressed the one claim, that she is a communist. She said she's not a communist and provided a strong reason to believe her.

California’s COVID-19 Case Rate Is Now Twice Florida’s: I am sooooo not bummed.

Life in the Age of Decay
Urban life with horses in the late 1800s, but just think of the low carbon footprint without all those nasty automobiles. QUOTE: The transport of heavy goods needed a stream of freight wagons pulled by four to twelve horses. The driving force of London was about 190,000 horses, each producing up to 50 pounds of waste per day. Each day, London’s four-legged population yielded about four and a half million pounds of dung. Add to it the hectolitres of horse urine and you cannot be surprised that the turn of the century was called the Age of Decay. A New York newspaper of the time complains that the whole city “is covered with brownish smoking carpet that stinks to high heaven”. On hot days, it was preferable to live behind closed doors and windows. It was generally thought that the first international conference on urban planning would bring a solution. The year was 1898 and the symposium of one-week duration opened with great pomp in New York, the most dynamically growing city in the world. Attendees arrived from many world’s capitals. The New York’s mayor led the opening speeches at the City Hall and journalists competed in speculation about what would be the outcome of the high-level conference. Horse manure was the main subject. But the meeting of the city planners ended quietly after three days of failure. No solution was found. Hygiene and cleanliness seemed to be unreachable goals as the conference ended on a gloomy note. The dire prognosis envisaged that, at the current rate of growth, in 1930 large cities streets would be buried under three meters of manure. No one could imagine cities without horses. And so, burdened with black thoughts of a bleak future, the participants left for home after only three days. https://victorianparis.wordpress.com/2019/05/21/life-in-the-age-of-decay/ feeblemind: Urban life with horses in the late 1800s, but just think of the low carbon footprint without all those nasty automobiles.
Quite so! When you view costume dramas set in 19th century London or New York, you see lots of horses, but rarely see the, er, problem. James Burke did a series on how various, seemingly unrelated, innovations have led to the modern world. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLw7aVsjFLyMmkEqHami9AHGmc3x3-s3xa I humorously recall reading of people lauding the advent of vehicles because breathing a little exhaust was far better than avoiding piles of poop.
I also recall, like many likely do, how rarely today we see vehicles belching smoke (oddly I saw one today with a likely dying engine) as we did in the 60's and 70's. Many don't realize how much pollutants have been reduced. re: Eccentric Dog Breeds-
The drawing that accompanies the linked BBC article looks completely wrong to me; the gearing on the dog's "hamster wheel" shouldn't be a large wheel driving a small wheel on the roasting spit, as that would turn the spit at a very fast speed. Even if the dog is merely walking slowly, the spit would be turning at a very high rpm. https://ychef.files.bbci.co.uk/1280x720/p0b2jg0s.webp There should be a small pulley on the hamster wheel, driving a large pulley on the spit; that would slow down the rotational speed of the spit so the meat doesn't go flying off. What is the provenance of this drawing? Is it a modern drawing, meant to mislead us into thinking that it's an illustration produced in the 1700s? If the BBC didn't analyse this drawing in this article that they published, then I must also question the veracity of everything else they publish. Good catch! You can't fool all the people all of the time but if you can do it just once, it lasts for four years. - Roger Price
Dogs. A couple of years ago, I read a piece saying if dogs are told, "Go ye forth and multiply as ye will," after a few generations all dogs would be yellow village dogs.

Reality is racist. That is why race crusaders only communicate in the form of falsehoods. Beware the nuclear reactors built to government specs.
No power company would want them. They are largely wastes of money and a distraction. |
