We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Unfortunately, we're all central planners now. The government must do something about this problem! Never mind that the government has proven over and over and over again that they are incompetent, over-bearing, and more expensive than we can bear in addressing any problems we face and we'd be better off if they just left bad enough alone. It's so easy to see how government could help solve a problem if they'd just do the right thing, expecting self-serving politicians and bureaucrats and government contractors to do the right thing is as useful as expecting flying unicorns to wave a magic wand.
