What is interesting about the Havanna Syndrome story is that a likely candidate isn't even mentioned. Given the ingredients of a diplomatic mission in a hostile country with close historical Soviet ties, the historical symbioses between the intelligence services and diplomacy, it's surprising that it is not even mentioned that the whole episode could be a psychological operation, psy-ops, designed to gain strategic dominance by sowing uncertainty and confusion. It certainly looks like they've achieved the desired effect, either way.

I was just running an errand, listening to NPR reporting on the Southwest Airlines flight cancellation debacle. They reported something like 2,000 flights cancelled. They had a 'lady on the tarmac' interview - she's 'missing the wedding'. They reported on the limited delays from air traffic control issues, but that those 'were mostly over on Friday'.

Nowhere did they mention the pilot's union or the current tension between Southwest and the union, which has been steadily escalating, or the union's injunction filed last week against management's vaccination mandate. Nowhere did they mention that Jacksonville's ATC crews are believed to have walked off under a similar protest. Vaccination mandates were not mentioned at all.

In other words, they reported all of the incidental facts without even addressing the main one: Why were the flights cancelled, [i]really[/i[?

NPR has truly earned its PRAVDA credentials and strives daily to preserve its PRAVDA accreditation.

Of course Southwest's corporate office is in Dallas, so....it would appear that Gov. Abbott has given them a way to circumnavigate the pressure being put on them by the Biden administration.
