We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Speaking of breaking barriers: Gov Newsom is requiring Covid vaccine for K-12 school children. Strangely no mandate for teachers yet. My question is: Is the vaccine safe for children? If not and the child becomes ill or dies can the parents sue Newsom/California?
I suspect Newsom did this in retaliation to those who opposed him because of his mandates. He won the recall and now it's payback time. Doesn't matter if some children are harmed the more important thing for a lefty is that you do damage to the right
Yeah, but that's not what they did. They built a car that could be driven to the grocery store (not a likely occurrence, of course) and made it capable of also going over 300 mph. Putting aside the intrinsic value of successfully completing such a monumentally difficult task, you don't think anything was learned during that process?
In 1968 was driving 138 mph on the Autobahn in Germany. That was as fast as my car would go. Two lanes I was in the left lane, just cruising along, no one behind me. Suddenly a car caught up with me and flashed his lights so I pulled into the right lane. He passed me like I was standing still in a red Porsche. He had to be doing 160 mph.
