Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Can we have sex back?
Sheesh, this is "conservative"? It's more than a little ironic that the push to teach sex to the "ignorant" started with the baby boom generation, the generation whose parents demonstrably had things figured out very well. This academic is yet another who things way too highly of herself. The mechanics aren't a secret, and intimacy is by definition not taught to a classroom of students. "Diplomas for all" is just a demonstration of the cargo cult mentality among so many people. "Look, these are the nice things the middle class have so if we give these things to the poor, they'll be middle class as well!" No recognition that it's the middle class values that led to them to becoming middle class and if you want the poor to join the middle class you're going to have to instill middle class values in them. And one of the more prominent middle class values is that you have to work for what you want, that you're not going to just be handed these things. So when the state just hands the poor these things instead of requiring them to work for these things, well, you see the problem here, don't you?
QUOTE: Indictment of Campaign Lawyer Demonstrates How Hillary Clinton Is The Most Systemically Manipulative Politician Of Our Lifetime. William A. Jacobson: Much like the fabricated Steele Dossier . . . Much of the Dossier has been verified, including that Russia was actively working to interfere in the U.S. presidential campaign. William A. Jacobson: The Trump–Russia collusion narrative was essentially a fabrication of the Clinton campaign that was peddled to the FBI Except that Trump’s campaign manager provided internal campaign documents to a Russian agent, knowing that Russia was actively working to interfere in the U.S. presidential campaign. Do you have any clue to how obvious it is that you are full of shit. It is clear now that the dossier was pure fiction and a crime by the Democrats and here you are still trying to breathe life into it. We see you, we know you are lying. Be smarter and change the subject, maybe that will work. LOL
OneGuy: It is clear now that the dossier was pure fiction
The claims that the Russians were interfering in the election to help Trump and damage Clinton, and that the Trump campaign knew about and welcomed that interference, have been confirmed by both the Mueller Report and the Republican-led Senate investigation. Other claims have not been confirmed, and can only be considered raw intelligence. QUOTE: The Committee found that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the Russian effort to hack computer networks and accounts affiliated with the Democratic Party and leak information damaging to Hillary Clinton... QUOTE: The presidential campaign of Donald J. Trump (“Trump Campaign” or “Campaign”) showed interest in WikiLeaks’s releases of documents and welcomed their potential to damage candidate Clinton. QUOTE: Taken as a whole, Manafort’s high-level access and willingness to share information with individuals closely affiliated with the Russian intelligence services, particularly Kilimnik and associates of Oleg Deripaska, represented a grave counterintelligence threat. The KiddieZ are trying so hard with their unproven allegations it's laughable.
Allegations against Trump that have been proven to be without merit. Bwaha! Lolgf ! QUOTE: The Trump–Russia collusion narrative was essentially a fabrication of the Clinton campaign that was peddled to the FBI (among other government agencies) and to the media by agents of the Clinton campaign — particularly, its lawyers at Perkins Coie — who concealed the fact that they were quite intentionally working on the campaign’s behalf, and that they did not actually believe there was much, if anything, to the collusion narrative. It was serviceable as political dirt but would not amount to anything real for criminal or national-security purposes. https://nypost.com/2021/09/20/dem-plot-to-steele-the-white-house-anatomy-of-a-political-dirty-trick/ Go away KiddieZ. You' re full of shit. Kiddiez: Except that Trump’s campaign manager provided internal campaign documents to a Russian agent, knowing that Russia was actively working to interfere in the U.S. presidential campaign.
Except the KiddieZ can't prove that. Just like every other false allegation they bring up. Bwaha! Lolgf! Support for the claim was provided in the reply to OneGuy: an investigation by the executive branch, and an independent investigation by the legislative branch.
"Support" is not you repeating your points. You are a liar. Every day you post it's evident.
DrTorch: "Support" is not you repeating your points.
We didn't merely repeat our claims, but provided two independent investigations that supported our position. You ignored that support. Let us know if you decide to address the evidence of those investigations.

The Mueller Report and the Senate Report the KiddieZ mention were proven to be political hit jobs.
One wonders why the KiddieZ missed that. It was in all the papers. Bwaha! Lolgf !!!

The Z Man: The two most important features of the long-running culture war in the United States are that the left has won every fight and the right has never learned from failure.
The political center has been moving left since the Renaissance, albeit, not monotonically. For instance, abolition and women's suffrage are hardly controversial today. The Z Man: The reason that the right never wins is they insist that facts and reason are the solution to the conflict. After the tumultuous tantrums of the Trump era, that is hardly a defensible point. The Z Man: The reason is the people on the right side of history support {more} open borders, so he supports {more} open borders. No, it's because the notion of egalitarianism doesn't necesssarily stop at the border. The Z Man: As a result, all political arguments are moral arguments. As politics concerns people, and people are moral beings, politics concerns morality, at least in part. The Z Man: If the conservative mind is incapable of framing right-wing arguments in moral terms, then there can be no such thing as a conservative in a liberal democracy. Conservatives often speak in moral terms, such as being against abortion or homosexuality. The conservative argument is that stability is a better for people than the anarchy that follows from too rapid of progress; and that traditional institutions and mores shouldn't be discarded for light and transient causes. "The political center has been moving left since the Renaissance, albeit, not monotonically. "
So the political center has been moving left, except when it hasn't. This is a meaningless statement since the "politically left" is an ill-defined, often ambiguous term. "For instance, abolition and women's suffrage are hardly controversial today." They are in some parts of the world. As usual, you are wrong. It's trivial to demonstrate this with your posts. DrTorch: So the political center has been moving left, except when it hasn't.
Yes, that's what "not monotonically" means. In any case, the center has been trending to the political left, that is, towards a more egalitarian society, since the Renaissance. What was once progressive or radical in previous times are ordinary today. It was only in 1965 that legal segregation ended in the U.S., the same years as the Griswold decision. Believe it or not, segregation was an acceptable and often common viewpoint before that time. DrTorch: They are in some parts of the world. Abolition and women's suffrage is far more widespread than in previous generations. So you agreed that your points were meaningless.
That's the only time you're right. Yet you continue to spew further nonsense. "A fool loves to hear himself talk." DrTorch: So you agreed that your points were meaningless.
Noting that there is a trend, while also noting the trend is not monotonic, is not a meaningless statementt. Let us know if you decide to engage the topic.

Useless diplomas for all
This whole story is framed as one of incompetence rather than one of fraud. Imagine if parents had to write a check for $20,000 at the start of each school year. Everyone would see the situation as the criminal enterprise it is. Those running the fraud all get a big payday and a lifetime of paid retirement while the students receive nothing of value. That so many people view school as free, distorts their perception encouraging them to think first of incompetence rather than criminality. Everyone at school and up the chain of command should be charged as members of a criminal conspiracy and jailed. I realize this will never happen. I realize will that be entire thing will be swept under the rug. I realized it everyone will keep their job and their lifetime retirement. But that all just confirms how high the criminal conspiracy reaches that the soldiers at this level never receive punishment. Right no Australians are fighting back against the draconian covid restrictions that the politicians and police have been enforcing with violence against their own citizens. Some would call it an insurrection. There are those within our own country who insist we simply comply as the Jews did in Germany and wear the star of David or mask or whatever. It is an interesting observation that when a government first begins to oppress that it starts of slow and seemingly "reasonable" and that many citizens even agree that some of the oppressive mandates make sense. I imagine that if the Jews in Germany in the 30's rallied and fought the early oppression that they would have been viewed as insurrectionist or worse. In the early stages of fascism the government hides behind a fear, real or contrived, and convinces many citizens to support the extreme measures to fight against what is feared. Then at some point those citizens become a little blood thirsty and demand even more oppression and punishment for everyone who disagrees. Today thanks to the internet we get bots with strange, even biblical names to push this fascism and try to give it cover. Fascism requires deception until they have absolute power. Fascist leaders need the support of the media to push their propaganda. Without that support or worse with an honest media they would stand naked for all to see. But it is so hard to believe that here we go again...
It is sad when someone dies too young and especially when they leave behind young children. It is shameful that you use them as part of your propaganda.
Most people who have gotten covid in the U.S. did so while they were under the covid protocols to wear a mask, stay 6 feet apart and get vaccines. I won't search out for some poor soul who died from covid after abiding by all the "prevention" protocols because that would be needlessly cruel to the families. But we all know it's true. Most people in this country who got covid and/or died from covid were following the rules in place at the time. THAT is the nature of a virus; that it spreads and it is extremely difficult to prevent the spread. BUT, you completely missed the issue at hand: civil rights and freedom. What the government should do is strive to give the citizens the best advice they can, build up the health care system to accommodate more sick people and search for ways that can mitigate the harm from this pandemic. What they should NOT do is suspend civil and constitutional tights, destroy lives, arrest people for failing some protocol while simultaneously breaking those same rules themselves. We are adults and free citizens and we will and should actively rebel against these despotic and unconstitutional mandates. I cheer the Australians on and hope they take back their country from these little Eichmanns. I sincerely hope that Americans wake up too and take a lesson from Australians and take back our country. Anon: Most people who have gotten covid in the U.S. did so while they were under the covid protocols to wear a mask, stay 6 feet apart and get vaccines.
Most people hospitalized with COVID have not been vaccinated. https://www.sciencenews.org/article/covid-coronavirus-vaccines-hospital-cases-rates-unvaccinated Anon: BUT, you completely missed the issue at hand: civil rights and freedom. The power of government during pandemics is deeply rooted in common and statutory law. People just don't have the freedom to spread diseases through the community. Most people who contracted covid got it before the vaccines were available but they were complying with all the existing protocols.
The Supreme court has stated numerous times in the past that no "emergency" situation allows the government to deny any constitutional right.

Were they? Do you have a citation for that? Social protocols in the U.S. were very uneven in practice. Quite amazing about the vaccines, though. Anon: The Supreme court has stated numerous times in the past that no "emergency" situation allows the government to deny any constitutional right. In upholding the power of the state to compel vaccination, the Supreme Court held in Jacobson v. Massachusetts that "the liberty secured by the Constitution of the United States to every person within its jurisdiction does not import an absolute right in each person to be, at all times and in all circumstances, wholly freed from restraint. There are manifold restraints to which every person is necessarily subject for the common good."

Jacobson v. Massachusetts predates Mein Kampf. Indeed, the power of government during pandemics is deeply rooted in common and statutory law. Regardless, you made a claim about the U.S. Supreme Court which was false. The Supreme Court has found that all rights to have limits.

Angelo Codevilla has passed away. He was one of my favorite essayists and a brilliant mind.
https://amgreatness.com/author/angelo-codevilla/ Struck by a drunk driver? Does any know the whereabouts of Hillary Clinton at the time?
When I see a Morning Links thread with 15-20+ comments, it's a good bet that Zhithead is wasting our time by zhitting through his mouth again.
As Scott Adams has pointed out, Trump's super power is that he understands it is about the "energy" not the facts. Conservatives foolishly believe the Left who fetishize academia and credentials are then devoted to facts, rational thought and the scientific method. They are not. To be a Democrat is the believe what you are told, not what you see, hear, feel, experience.
QUOTE: Purges are the necessary consequences of the philosophical foundation of Marxian socialism. If you cannot discuss philosophical differences of opinion in the same way you discuss other problems, you must find another solution—through violence and power. This refers not only to dissent concerning policies, economic problems, sociology, law, and so on. It refers also to problems of the natural sciences. ... For instance, if there is a difference of opinion with regard to science or genetics, it must be decided by the "leader." This is the necessary unavoidable consequence of the fact that, according to Marxist doctrine, you do not consider the possibility of dissent among honest people; either you think as I do, or you are a traitor and must be liquidated. --von Mises, Ludwig (1952).
