Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Regarding Ocasio-Cortez, someone more insightful than I already said it, but it bears repeating, that her remarks intentionally and hilariously highlight the fact that she believes it apparently takes the capitalist economy of the Untied States to support the socialist paradise of Cuba. Of course, she is too stupid to recognize the truth of what she says.
Actually, the time to get serious about nuclear energy was about 40 years ago. But, of course, the Greens real agenda isn't to get rid of fossil fuel energy and replace it with clean energy, it's to get rid of fossil fuel energy and replace it with nothing. Human beings are a cancer upon the Earth and need to be punished for their sins against Mother Gaia. Their intent is to see the human population reduced by about 95% and the remaining humans living as hunter/gatherers.
And speaking of getting serious, Devin Nunes is a non-serious hack, a political opportunist pushing whatever agenda might be most beneficial to himself and his career. There never was a "Durham investigation", it was simply a stalling technique created by Bill Barr to convince the easily-fooled Donald Trump that Barr was "doing something" besides protecting the DoJ from political interference like a good bureaucrat. Barr was George Bush's AG for Pete's sake, do you really think he had any love of Donald Trump? Your first paragraph is the Cliff Notes for Paul Ehrlich, The Population Bomb.
It’s worth repeating that Bill Barr ran the interference for the Ruby Ridge killings; doing Pro bono work for the sniper that killed Vicki Weaver. Bill Barr, along with the Clinton administration, took great strides in destroying the bonds of trust between citizens and their government. Helping to turn the FBI into the lawless organization that they are. Trump picking such horrible people for top cabinet posts, were his biggest mistakes. I guess he didn’t know any better. I think Trump has always relied on experts to provide good advice to him - I think this has steered his business successes. I think he has faith in his experience and his instincts, but I think he over-valued his limited knowledge of the DC political world, basing it upon his social interactions with it and maybe assuming it to be similar to his experience dealing with politics and politicians in NYC.
He did not anticipate the depravity or the sycophantic personalities that are drawn to the nation's power structures, or the capacity for treachery that is endemic inside the Beltway. I feel sure it was probably the most intense learning experience he has ever had. Just an FYI observation. With an M1 chipped MacBook Air running the latest build of Firefox, I find that the Farm Belonging to Maggie takes nearly a minute to load, whereas other favorite sites like Instapundit, Powerline, Real Clear Politics, BBC, etc. load almost instantaneously (i.e., a second or less). Am I the only reader having this issue? Can you hazard a guess as to cause? In any event, your site is worth waiting for. Thank you.
I've noticed the same thing. I use a 2018 Air and typically use the Dissenter browser, and it usually takes Maggie's 7 or 8 seconds to load. Same with Bill Whittle's website. Both are worth waiting for but when most site's load in a second or less, the wait seems endless. Dissenter is the Gab browser, but other sites load in a flash so....it's curious.
Just tried Safari (which I try not to use much) and it took Maggies 20 seconds to load, but Bill Whittle was less than 2 seconds. My 5-year-old MacBook Pro, and my new one from just this month, both load it instantly. I haven't tried an Air.
"AOC breaks silence on Cuba protests, calls for end to 'cruel' embargo"
Fucking dingbat. Moon Wobble: I'll be loooooooooooooooooong dead before the moon wobbles enough to fall over.
WaPo complains that Tucker didn't cry: The WaPoo WaPoops. Students confused to see 'controversial' American flag flown by Cuban protesters: It's a "learning" experience, if, and ONLY if, they can get their heads around it. "Officials in Australia are rebranding shark “attacks” as “a negative encounter” as experts argue the former had given the nautical predators a bad reputation not based on science.
I'm curious, how many of these 'negative encounters' were initiated by the human biting the shark? 2022: Predicted first appearance of the phrase: Anthropogenic Moon Wobbling. It makes sense if you realize that "science" means "feelz."

Actually, thirty years ago was the time to get serious about nuclear energy, but better late than never. re AOC breaks silence on Cuba protests, calls for end to "cruel" embargo
Permit be to play Devil's Advocate for a question. Why is it good to embargo Cuba while we trade with China? China is a serious threat to the USA. Cuba is not. If Cuba can't be a trading partner because . . . reasons, shouldn't we end trade with China for those same reasons? Good questions.
Not only did we trade with China, we blessed them with most favored trade status. Why? Yes I'm bein' followed by a moonwobble
