Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

"Just 25 'mega-cities' produce 52 per cent of the world's urban greenhouse gas emissions—and 23 of them are in China"
But the Leftist media won't mention this inconvenient truth because - say it with me - It's Only Bad When White People Do It. Ten rivers are sources for 90%+ of all the plastic pollution in the oceans. Eight of them are in China.
Maniac: "Just 25 'mega-cities' produce 52 per cent of the world's urban greenhouse gas emissions—and 23 of them are in China"
Of course, that doesn't mean China produces 52% * 23/25 = 48% of global emissions. China produces about 28% of global emissions and accounts for about 13% of cumulative emissions. For comparison, the U.S. & E.U. account for 47% of cumulative emissions. What is interesting about MartyrMade's thread is how quickly some of the 'conservative' press is scrambling, trying to corral this Wrong-Think by assigning it to the 'Trump Fanatic' crowd, as if nobody else should pay any attention to those dangerous feelings of recognition and understanding, when reading it.
The funny thing is, Daryl Cooper (MartyrMade) isn't really a Trump conservative at all. He expanded on his thoughts in a subsequent essay that re-hashes many of his Twitter thread points and explains his real purpose in writing it - he was trying to show his Leftist friends why Trump Republicans are ripe to be influenced by Leftist ideas. It's under Glenn Greenwald's Substack: https://outsidevoices.substack.com/p/author-of-the-mega-viral-thread-on Some of the comments are quite revealing about how wrong the 'conservative' press really is. They really, really suck at interpreting and influencing the thinking of mainstream American conservatives. Thanks for that link. It was an interesting read. There was a lot unsaid. I think he is naive to the span of time that the right wing has been distrustful of major media. I believe the trust began to evaporate during the Vietnam War coverage, and the Obama years wiped out any remaining belief that the media was not a propaganda mouthpiece for the democrats.
He fails to analyze how the Obama regime fully weaponized the federal government against those of us that hand out pocket Constitutions to kids. The writing was on the wall when we found that even the IRS was used against us. How much time did Lois Lerner get? Maybe there is another thread, but I fail to see how his analysis of: “These people are not demons, and they are ready to listen in a way they haven’t in a long, long time.” What message from the left am I ready to listen to? What I want is a smaller government, and that ain’t what the left is selling. I think the last time in America, that the left paid any sort of price for their insurrection, their continual treason, is when the Rosenbergs were executed. Yes ... after all those items he listed in his Twiiter thread detailing all the ways **leftists** in government, tech, and media targeted Trump and his supporters including arrests for purely political reasons, plus the constant parade of lies and marginalization in every way possible ... there is zero chance any of those people are willing to listen to any leftist on anything ever.
Great thread though. You would think a light would go on in his head .... I was on board with that thread for quite a ways, but thought it was weaker at the end. He was mind-reading why (or mind-reading the conservatives mind-reading) the judges reached the decisions they did: fear for themselves or fear of violence erupting. That could be true, but I generally reject argument from suspected motives without a lot of solid evidence.
What evidence would that be? The intimidation and threat of violence is what buys the silence.
Seems to me that this is exactly how and why witness and judge intimidation works, knowing that the target is highly motivated to keep it out of the public eye and cannot go to the cops because bad things will happen to their family. I believe there are times to wait for evidence before deciding what happened, and times you cannot afford to do that for reasons I describe above. I thought the essay weakened toward the end as well, no real new thoughts expanded upon past the original Twitter thread. I'm not sure how one would go about collecting evidence of judge intimidation, outside of judges admitting that they're cowards. I do think quite a few are, though, based on the kind of decisions they hand down.
Darryl Cooper is a youngish guy, bright, with a strong sense of historical relevance. I was just watching the first part of a podcast he did on the Armenian genocide with Jocko Willink that I thought was pretty interesting. I don't know much about either one of these guys, so it's something new - thinking warrior types. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6TqQM5M-8Y xposted from Legal Insurrection
MartyrMade: Most believe some or all of the theories involving midnight ballots, voting machines, etc, but what you find when you talk to them is that, while they’ll defend those positions w/info they got from Hannity or Breitbart or whatever, they’re not particularly attached to them. Sure. That’s exactly how preconception works. Force fit the facts to the narrative. MartyrMade: 1) The FBI/etc spied on the 2016 Trump campaign using evidence manufactured by the Clinton campaign. Not manufactured, but the collection of raw intelligence. You would certainly expect the U.S. to investigate reports that Russian agents were attempting to infiltrate a U.S. political party — which they were. MartyrMade: We now know that all involved knew it was fake from Day 1 (see: Brennan’s July 2016 memo, etc). Um, no. That’s not what the memo revealed, but unconfirmed intelligence that Clinton was going to distract from the email kerfluffle with talk of Russian collusion. MartyrMade: This was true with everyone, from CIA Dir Brennan & Adam Schiff – who were on TV saying they’d seen clear evidence of collusion w/Russia The Trump campaign did collude with Russia. We know that the campaign manager provided internal campaign documents to a Russian agent knowing that Russian agents were involved in election interference. That’s collusion. We also know Trump obstructed the investigation, so there is probably other instances of collusion. MartyrMade: We know as fact: a) The Steele dossier was the sole evidence used to justify spying on the Trump campaign That’s false. The impetus for the investigation was a tip-off from Australia’s High Commissioner to the UK that a foreign policy advisor to Trump said that Russia had dirt in the form of emails stolen from Hillary Clinton. MartyrMade: Many of them don’t know for certain whether ballots were faked in November 2020 Of course, there’s no evidence of any widespread election fraud; and multiple audits, recounts, and investigations have confirmed the results. MartyrMade: Re: “fake impeachment”, we now know that Trump’s request for Ukraine to cooperate w/the DOJ regarding Biden’s $ activities in Ukraine was in support of an active investigation being pursued by the FBI and Ukraine AG at the time, and so a completely legitimate request. No. What Trump requested was a public announcement, contrary to best practices in an investigation. Ukraine said there was no investigation of Hunter Biden at the time, because the corruption issues occurred before Hunter Biden’s involvement in Ukraine. MartyrMade: But when the four critical swing states (and only those states) went dark at midnight, they knew. Knew what? The latest conspiracy theory or the one before that. To reiterate, there is no evidence of any widespread election fraud. MartyrMade: It’s a fact that governors used COVID to unconstitutionally alter election procedures (the Constitution states that only legislatures can do so) to help Biden to make up for a massive enthusiasm gap by gaming the mail-in ballot system. That’s not correct. Most legislatures have delegated discretion to the executive; and when there was a dispute, the courts adjudicated based on the relevant law. MartyrMade: And what judge will toss millions of ballots because a governor broke the rules? There’s the problem right there. Disputes concerning the rules must occur before the election. It Cannot Be That Liberals Are Wrong About Everything: OK, there could be a multi-quintrillionth of something they got right...

https://twitter.com/heckyessica/status/1414779411208052736 LOL So what part of "The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America." does Nancy Pelosi not understand? As Speaker she has no authority to directly authorize any actions outside the purview of the House's half of the Capitol building.
what's it going to take to get standing to sue in court over this blatantly unconstitutional power grab. "Most Voters Want Schools to Teach Traditional Values"
We aren’t trying to prevent schools from teaching about racism. We are trying to prevent schools from engaging in it. QUOTE: Remembering What Was Done to the Trump Administration. An argument fails when it is based on a false basis. QUOTE: The {Steele Dossier} was the only relevant predicate for ordering FISA warrants against Carter Page and other American citizens. That's false. As the Inspector General found, the impetus for the investigation was a tip-off from the Australians that a foreign policy advisor to the Trump campaign had said that Russia had thousands of emails that would embarrass Hillary Clinton. QUOTE: The {Steele Dossier} was a tissue of lies and fabrications. While it was raw intelligence, the primary allegations, that Russia was interfering in the U.S. presidential election and was attempting to infiltrate the Trump campaign, have been confirmed. Aggie: You already said that, and we already didn't buy it.
Actually, that would be the actual warrant application, the Inspector General, and the bipartisan, Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee who said it. |
