Sad to see Ted Cruz calling the defeat of the voting bill a huge win for democracy. No, it was a huge win for federalism, which is not democracy. Our Founding Fathers rightly abhorred democracy as mob rule and the tyranny of the majority and put specific checks in the Constitution to guard against democracy. To the extent that Nancy Pelosi et al are attempting to "fundamentally transform" this country by removing these anti-democratic checks from the Constitution and re-make this country into a democracy (all the while singing praises to democracy), they are specifically anti-American traitors to the Constitution, the same Constitution that they took an oath to defend and preserve.

It is common in language for words to take on meanings beyond what Webster defines. Most people think of Democracy as a good thing and what we in the U.S. actually have. Yes the exact definition means that Democracy is actually the 51% ruling over the 49% and that is not good. But don't confuse the exact meaning of democracy with the popular meaning of "democracy" as used. Look at the context.

Don't be that person who insists that you forgot a comma or should have used a different word or other nit picking.

Cruz is good at rhetorical arguing and terrible at charismatic speaking. He should have said that the defeat of the bill is a huge win for the voters of all parties and beliefs, and huge win for our electoral system, and then hit the high points on issues that have overwhelming support - like Voter ID for instance.

The fraudulent president Biden said that he would use the military to defend his government from the citizens and would use nukes and bombs to do it. Biden's child like mind repeated these things but like a child repeating what is heard in their home where do these ideas come from? This implies he is repeating what his staff and handlers are saying. I find it a little frightening that our government in secret or out loud would say such things. I sense a purge of Trump followers is being planned.

Why Hollywood is So Liberal. Hollyweird actors are talented at pretending to be somebody else, on pretend sets, reading pretend scripts. Per Rogan, they have pretend political opinions. Of course as liberals, they will not take equal shares with the staff in the profits of their productions. Why should they share with the peons who do the real work on the sets. Pretenders deserve the greater share.

Britney Spears is fighting to get back control of her money and her life. Without knowing all or many of the facts (almost everything you read is pure BS) I hope the judge restores her full control of her life and money. Clearly there was a time when someone had to intervene in her life and her dad did. She has been treated for her mental illness (more proof that the intervention was necessary) and perhaps now is competent to take back full control. Bi-polar is far more common that we know. People who are bi-polar usually destroy their life and typically the life of their friends and relatives. I suspect Britney has just begun destroying.

She is not providing evidence she is able to run her life again. She is just complaining about how much she doesn't like having other people run it. Well, none of us would. That's not the point. Althouse has been covering this and I wrote at greater length there.

Maybe you can explain some of the less believable claims, for example:
Brit claims she cannot get married. How is that possible? Just walk into the local government office get a marriage license and find someone to do it. How can this claim be true???

She also claims that she has a birth control device that she is forced to have. I have heard that women have removed it themselves so how can they force this???

Another complaint she has is that when her father took over her finances she was worth about $2 million and now she is worth $60 million and she is angry about that. Why???

I'm not really a fan of train-wrecked celebrities, but... if we truly believe that the rights of the individual are God-Given, not State-conceded, then shouldn't her conservators be the ones having to prove their case to the satisfaction of the judge in order to perpetuate it? They should have to do this anyway, given the financial incentives they are positioned for by virtue of the arrangement.

She doesn't have to come across as Dagny Taggart to be someone entirely capable of managing her own affairs, however messily. I think having this level over control over someone's life, professional choices, and biological functions is sick, and if it was necessary at some point, shouldn't
it also be the prime objective to have the exit of this conservator arrangement mapped, with aachievable/measurable targets? The whole idea ought to be getting Ms Spears back to a self-governing adult level, normal celebrity millionaire, right?

It's by no means over. First, remember that Biden has a "pen and a phone" like his socialist predecessor. He can promulgate regulations and executive orders that carry out the bill. (Remember the flurry of orders he issued on Day One?) Given our court structure, it will take years of legal challenges to invalidate those.

Second, remember the Left's favorite tool, the collusive lawsuit. The Biden administration and its progressive supporters will fashion a complaint to be filed against the federal government in a friendly federal court that will demand that the court order the federal government to carry out the specifics of the bill in the guise of protecting some fundamental constitutional right. The Harris-Biden administration will then have the DOJ roll over and not defend against the suit, or maybe even enter into a collusive settlement agreement not only giving the plaintiffs everything they want, but also paying their attorney's fees and giving them large amounts of money to "implement" the resulting judgment against the U.S.
