Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. I don't know what to make of the medical journals or why they felt it was so important to jump prematurely on the WHO/Chinese bandwagon? Did someone believe that the journals were so prestigious that their pronouncements would be the end of any suspicions and derail continuing research? Were they so certain of their claims, they never imagined the possibility that they could be challenged and have to retract? BTW over time, even to an ordinary person like me, this virus seemed kinda weird from an evolutionary point of view, so it wasn't crazy to be suspicious?
I don' know if I have a point; I am just kinda musing. Who benefits from a cover up, other than the obvious, China? Are the prestigious international journals Anglo-American? Why would scientists from Denmark, Poland, India, Japan, to name a few, run cover for China, or for the US government, if it's true the US funded "gain of function" research in Wuhan?
To assume the PTB are ALL corrupt, coopted, narcissistic, pathological or out to get Trump just doesn't fly for me. I know that Dr Kory and Dr Weinstein believe that the system is broken and that probably money is at the heart of it. Maybe but if the PTB are wrong and contributed to the death and suffering of 100s of thousands of people, they're risking their reputations and more. It is equally puzzling that they didn't give alternate therapies a fair hearing.

That folks was a Chinese internet troll. They are called "wumao" (五毛) which means "fifty cents." They are paid by the CCP (hence the name) to monitor the internet and post comments either in favor of the CCP or to attack people who comment with anything negative to the CCP. Usually they are hit and run, or alternatively, a whole group may attack a site to spam all the comments and essentially shut down the commenting.

Any American who is “disturbed” by the American flag displayed anywhere at any time is informing me they are clearly on the other side.

This is a far simpler issue than they think it is. 1) See American flag. 2) Thank God you were born here in the 20th century. 3) Move on with your day.

It’s not a symbol of “Trumpism” (whatever the hell that idiotic term is supposed to mean), or racism, and if you think it is, that’s a “you” problem.

It goes back well before Trump. That the progressive tribe themselves do not remember their own history shows their devotion to mere fashion. The linked discussion including Vietnam does not change this so much as emphasize that some things take on mythical status regardless of the underlying facts. Vietnam would be one of those things, as would Woodstock, the McCarthy trials, Gandhi, and MLK Jr. These are merely terms of incantation now.

So yes, they are not antiwar, they are just on the other side. They believe that being internationalist is morally superior to being nationalist, and so True Patriotism should be internationalist. So no flags, please. Sounds nice, but it is sort of like saying that if you are a real Cubs fan you should want what is good for baseball even more. And not just baseball, but pro sports in general, and hey, really, American culture in general, and shoot, now that we think of it, internationalism in general. So if you want to be a real Cubs fan you have to be an international socialist. I, obviously, think just being a Cubs fan is clearer thinking.

Not all Israelis are Ashkenazi, as you well know, and they pull the numbers down. Once we have absorbed that general, unspeakable principle, we can look at all the other countries and ask ourselves "What's up with Northern Europe? What's up with NE Asia, especially those places that select for excellence via immigration?" Ashenazi scores remain well above average, at 112-115.

IQ as tested is not always what you think it is. Many countries only test or count the IQ of the students who excel, because the poor students do not continue in school they are relegated to learn a trade not to school. Japan and China are good examples as is India.
The U.S. tests everyone and everyone is averaged into the national IQ.
Some cultures cherish learning and children will spend their waking hours learning both in school and at home. They do really well on IQ tests but are likely no smarter than children in cultures that do not force their children to spend every waking hour learning. Is this good? or bad? Not sure but I am so thankful I grew up without a tiger mom and learned a more feral set of skills.

Keystone pipeline transports oil at $10.00 a barrel. Warren Buffets rail lines transport the same oil at $30.00 a barrel.

If I recall correctly, the purpose of the Keystone line was to transport Canadian oil sands produced oil to refineries in the US. Since the cost metric has now profoundly changed, I guess it will become more likely that the Canadians will figure out a way to refine their oil in country - so that would be a loss to the American economy, jobs, so forth. They have their own big hurdles to overcome, though, as Canada is even more pigheaded about where their heat and light comes from.

Shipping by rail will invite inevitable spill disasters, of course. Nobody will make a connection between protests and consequential oil puddles though, except those paying attention. Meanwhile: Hey! It's more expensive! What a great way to attack those rich people.
