We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

I notice a lot of these foodies that are so excited to be creative with the cicada horde, they're whipping up nouvelle and haute cuisine dishes to showcase their culianary skills. The results are very photogenic; I don't notice anybody digging in at the end of these videos, though. I'll limit my indulgence of 'crunchy outside, chewy center' things to tollhouse cookies, thanks.

This overlapped with my profession as a psychiatric social worker dealing with acute emergencies (suicide attempt, criminality) for forty years and I agree entirely. They aren't the other sex. They are sad and desperate and feel like outcasts and can't figure out why. The attempted suicide rate is just short of 50% with this group. Using their pain and sadness as a weapon for people who want to use this politically is like putting them in a line at the slaughterhouse. The advocates do not care about these children. they are utterly narcissistic and care about themselves. The kids are just meat.

You might discern that my hatred for these people in enormous.

Somehow, everyone seems to have forgotten that tomboys are quite common in young children but grow up into quite normal teenage girls once puberty arrives. I remember some from my childhood and my older son had a good friend who preferred playing with the boys not the girls. They all grew up fine.

This all smells like the ADHD hysteria of a couple of decades ago where the standard understanding of small boys was lost and they were expected to behave like little girls instead of their normal rambunctious rowdy selves.

Let's call support for transgenderism what it really is - homophobia. Look, if you've got a little boy who thinks he's a girl or a little girl who thinks she's a boy, they're probably going to grow up to be gay, right? Therefore, by supporting them switching genders, you're forcing them to become heterosexual! How dare you! You're a bigot!

Hey, if anything and everything can be twisted into being a manifestation of systemic racism and unconscious white supremacy, I say we fight fire with fire and accuse them of bigotry in the same way - it's rather easy if you try.
