We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Bah. A moderate level of fitness is fairly easy to gain.
Money you have to have a mix of hard work, smart work and luck to get anywhere past middle class.
To be fit you just have to spend an hour a day --40 to 45 minutes doing the thing, and the other 15-20 to get ready/get back etc. People spend WAY more time than that watching TV every night. Put a rowing machine, bike or treadmill in front of the TV and in 2-3 months your heart and lungs will SO much fitter you won't believe it. Do that, and spend 40 minutes a day lifting weights and stretching and you'll be next level.
You're not going to bet big like Arnold that way, but given how many people don't, you'll be in the 95 percentile for health and fitness, because most people *won't*.
To be financially "successful" you have to have some mix of working long hours for years doing something intellectually (or physically) challenging, and you have to be lucky in that that thing is still valuable.
