We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Well there you have it. If climate change is what is causing the crisis at the border then it doesn’t make much sense to visit the border and she and Joe are already working on their green new deal so that crisis is being adequately addressed.

Two amendments that would kill the "infrastructure bill":

1. No employment or offer of employment, nor any preference in the awarding of contracts or subcontracts shall be made conditional on a person or entity's membership in, affiliation with, or mandatory payment to a labor union or organization on any project funded under this title.

2. Contractors and subcontractors employing exclusively US citizens and resident aliens shall be exempt from any state, federal, or municipal prevailing wage regulations for work provided under this title.

Net neutrality turned out to be a bogus issue. It wasn't the ISP's that were regulating net traffic. Its the social media platforms themselves that are regulating traffic by engaging in censorship. Any net neutrality regulation that does not break the power of the tech giants to censor content is, by definition, meaningless.
