I have become cold hearted in my old age, to the point of hoping companies like Epicurious join the sports franchises. Coke etc. go broke due to pushing the lefts political agenda.

I should have added that we don't even eat beef any more due to some health issues, but many people do eat beef.

I eat beef.

And I'm happy to stick with grilling steaks w/ some Montreal seasoning. Or traditional burgers.

Epicurious Will No Longer Publish Recipes With Beef To Stop The Climate Emergency

I saw a recipe on Epicurous for imported mineral water. Imported mineral water uses a LOT more fossil fuel energy to get to your table than tap water. But as imported mineral water is chic, it gets a pass.

Epicurious stated that vegan recipes are more "sustainable" than beef recipes. I am reminded of a blog discussion I got into about Cuban agriculture. I pointed out the collapse of Cuban agriculture under 6 decades of Castroismo. The blog owner's reply came that in terms of sustainability, Cuban agriculture ranked VERY high. Yes, but 50-70% of Cuban foodstuffs are imported, so that is not an accurate "sustainability" matrix. The blogger shut off comment before I could make that reply. Facts are not nice.

That is the most depressing thing I have seen all month. A four star general mouthing diversity. As long as you don’t speak or believe in those conservative things; that’s not the diversity we are looking for.

Re Epicurious: the "money" quote - "For every burger recipe we didn’t publish, we put a vegetarian recipe into the world instead; rather than articles about ground beef, we talked about alt-meats from brands like Lightlife, a sponsor of this collection of recipes." ...brands like Lightlife... it's a grift. Had "The Beef People "sponsored" some recipes, you know dang well they'd been run.

I use a plant based diet; the bovine eats the plants and I use its milk and meat. The animal can eat plants that I can get no nutrition from. If the world only had plants for human consumption, it would lose plant diversity. You either have diversity or you don't.

I heard a state health official speaking on the local NPR station this morning. I like to call this station "Radio Free Radical". Anyway, he was saying things are looking better, why it's almost getting safe enough to be outside without a mask on, and maybe OK to go to inside events, provided you are wearing a mask.

Indoor masking may be permanent in some places, but not where I live. "The pandemic theater was always there, but we did not go to it any more."

Mask wearing has been pretty much optional in NW Fl since Christmas. I ignore corporate mandates and employees ignore my rebelliousness. During Mass, masks have been optional for months. We started greeting with a handshake (rather than waving) others before Easter.
We're not dying in droves.

In dog training they say to cut back on meat and protein to make the animal more docile and submissive.

As far as voting? I have my sticker for voting in 2020 for my President trump.....last time I will vote. Once the crooks have complete, unchallenged control of all mechanisms of government, there is no going back.
