We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The names get changed as / when it becomes impossible to answer the increasing numbers of people asking to review the evidence supporting the claims. It's a dead-end argument and they're running out of credible descriptors. Hard to build up desperation when this iteration is "Emergency" What's next, "Climate Catastrophe", "Climageddon" ? Michael Mann's 'Hockey Stick' prognostication has been debunked, and now dismissed, because he refused to share his supporting data, even when court-ordered. The only "Emergency" in the climate crisis world is the looming loss of meal-ticket grants.
COVID: We're in a 'Perpetual Pandemic' With No End in Sight
"Pandemic" means a world wide event, a concept that escapes the myopic view of most here who can't see beyond how muh rights are violated by masks. Covid will remain a pandemic for years until vaccines are widely available world wide.
In the US it will become an endemic disease with infections from visitors to the country, illegal immigrants and from the virtue signaling muh rights crowd, but not a serious epidemic because, thank the gods that the internet is not a reflection of the actual public and the vaccination numbers and recovery immunities are climbing, which will keep the waves down to a manageable level as the country reopens.
The real "truth" about John Schnatter is that the pizza delivery business is based on an illegal business model. Young people are victimized by Schnatter. Let me explain: People who work for Uber or Lyft are covered by the company's auto insurance when they make a food delivery. Plus they receive a fee for the service they provide. But people who deliver food for Papa John's and Dominoes are forced to depend on their own car insurance, even though they are making commercial deliveries. Those pizza companies tell the drivers to take the sign off of their car as quickly as possible if they get into a car accident, and not to tell the Police the truth.
Schnatter takes advantage of young people, so I don't really care what happens to him.
