We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
What's with a CARD? Just put all that junk on an RFID chip, stick in your neck, and tattoo a bar code over it so they know where to scan you. You could even get a little matching star-shaped badge to wear on your coat.
The premise behind this idea is, of course, is that the government is sovereign over the individual. That idea has led to most of the horrors of the twentieth century. But hey, why not try it again? /sarc
Just got my new U.S. passport in the mail yesterday. A notice included with the passport indicated that because of "embedded electronics," I had to be careful on how I handled and stored the passport. So all this is already put in your passport, or rather I assume can be uploaded in the cloud and revealed when they scan your passport.
