We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
They recommend that men have no more than two drinks per day and women no more than one, so yes, they are overcautious. You have to take them for what they are. Both liberals and conservatives have forgotten this because of C19. They have always represented one extreme. Liberals in the last year have taken the view that they are some evenhanded pure-science group whose word should be taken as law. Conservatives have treated them as a surprising new cowardly arm of the federal government which has ramped up enforcement of crazy levels of caution. They are neither. They enforce little, they recommend, and they always recommend with utmost caution. Starting last February we should have taken them with a "That's very nice, we'll take that into consideration" attitude.

No a word about those who had the virus. Do I need the vaccination; what does the science say?
There was a study linked over at Insty that a single dose for those who have had the disease improved immunity to almost 100% levels. If I link I get regarded as spam, so you'll have to poke around. I also did not spend any time evaluating the study to see whether I thought it any good. I clicked over and scanned it, clicked out. Good luck.

They are playing this by ear. They are cautious because they don't know the answers. They are often wrong but never sorry. They couldn't find their ass with two hands and a search warrant. They, their advice, has destroyed the economy, destroyed people's lives and gotten tyrants elected who intend to bring this country to it's knees and destroy the middle class. The "unintended" consequences of Covid will be far worse for us than Covid.
Finally got our first Pfizer shot yesterday. Didn't really want to get one but with really lungs my specialists said it would be really bad if I should catch it. Had to sign a consent form before the vaccine and it says " I understand that the FDA has authorized the emergency use of the Pfizer-Biontech vaccine, which is not an approved vaccine". Really made us feel confident. We were also advised to keep our vaccine cards as they thought you might need it in the future to do "things" around the country.
