Everybody knew this about iPhones

Except me. Well, I call them iCameras but whatever. When they refuse to recharge wirelessly, turn them off and turn back on. Then they will happily recharge. I thought my wireless rechargers were broken.

There are too many things in life that I do not know.

You're correct about that name, iCamera. People use them to take photos way more often than to make phone calls.

The world has passed me by. Eventually it does it to everyone.

BTW, I know people my age that can't even run a PC, and some that can but still don't do email.

The first step in restoring proper operation of anything with a microprocessor should be a hard reset. These days that includes just about everything.

In the old days we would just slam our fist on top of say, the TV or radio. I think it knocked the dust off of the transistors.
Same with people. Now we shock them when their heart stops, in hopes it will re-boot correctly. We used to THUMP them on the chest.

That's not the "old days"! The old days for TV's was vacuum tubes. Those old TVs would roll the picture, horizontal hold I think it was called. And, yes, banging the top of the TV usually stopped it. A "shock" to a vacuum tube did in fact result in a measurable surge in output.

All computers, including phones, should be restarted weekly. I admit, though, I restart my home and work computers about once a month or less.

I didn't even know you could recharge phone wirelessly. My spends most of its time plugged into my laptop, or else into my car.
