Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

What the Left thinks of Peterson:
How dangerous is Jordan B Peterson, the rightwing professor who 'hit a hornets' nest'? Since his confrontation with Cathy Newman, the Canadian academic’s book has become a bestseller. But his arguments are riddled with ‘pseudo-facts’ and conspiracy theories https://www.theguardian.com/science/2018/feb/07/how-dangerous-is-jordan-b-peterson-the-rightwing-professor-who-hit-a-hornets-nest "We don't have any way to refute what he's saying, so we're just going to say it's badthink and be done with it."
re Kevin W: I was on Morning Joe today, and I mentioned a point also made in this morning’s column — that Joe Biden’s decency-and-honesty shtick is baloney.
He also wrote this: Witless Ape Rides Helicopter QUOTE: Memo to MAGA and all its myriad fellow-travelers: maybe turning your party over to Generalissimo Walter Mitty, his hideous scheming spawn, and the studio audience from Hee-Haw was not just absolutely aces as a political strategy. Think on it, Cletus. I know this whole thing still sounds like your idea of a good time — how’s that working out for you? You Trumpish Republicans sneered that Joe Biden was too corrupt and too senescent to win a presidential campaign, that he was one part mafioso and one part turnip. That turnip kicked your dumb asses from Delaware to D.C. So you rioted. Real smart move, Cletus. https://www.nationalreview.com/2021/01/witless-ape-rides-helicopter/ Flashback: New Video Emerges Of Riots at Trump's 2017
https://legalinsurrection.com/2021/01/flashback-new-video-emerges-of-riots-at-trumps-2017-inauguration/ Two questions:
Why would anybody bother to watch, let alone be on, “Morning Joe?” Why would anybody care what someone who was invited on that show would have to say? No offense taken mudbug. My link was just a reply to our host's link.
I guess the point here is that Williamson is dissing both Trump and Biden, so what does that make him? A Never Trumper to be sure, but there were only two choices for POTUS. If he is glad Trump is gone and thinks the 74 million toothless, inbred rednecks that voted for him have got their comeuppance, then he must be glad Biden is president, yes? And yet he is critical of Old Joe. This is why I don't read Williamson any more. He seems to have abandoned his core values and will write whatever his paymasters tell him to. At least that's the way it looks from here. I agree completely. Some people don't understand that democratic systems don't necessarily present the best choices but it's up to you to pick the best of the choices presented (or become a candidate yourself). Apparently, Williamson has not figured that out yet.

Democrats aren’t going to subsidize the Never Trump crowd any more. They’ve outlived their usefulness.
Now the Never Trump crew needs to get Republicans back on board to support them. So they’re offering some limp-wristed criticism of the man they campaigned for and helped “elect.” Because then you might give them money.

Cancelling the pipeline is not a gift to China or anyone else, except maybe Warren Buffet's railroad. Cancelling the pipeline simply will mean that the oil is moved in rail cars, instead of safely underground. The demand will be the same; the supply will be riskier and more environmentally damaging. Trust the Science, Joe!
The real question is, how come it isn't finished yet? That's what I'd be demanding to know, if I were a shareholder. We tried, but a couple of states were very obstructionist, so couldn't get shovels in the ground. Too bad, as those were good jobs which weren't happening.
Trump signed a Memorandum to re-start work his first week in office, and then an EO in March '17 to reinvigorate the permits. An Obama - appointed judge ruled 3 times to stop all work after that. And of course the pipeline company didn't do a very good job of getting its act together professionally either.
But it's been a game of harassment from Environmentalists from Day 1. They don't object to pipelines; They object to oil consumption of any kind. They would rather see it transported on trains, because a derailment would be a nice photogenic mess. That is precisely how concerned they are about the Environment. They would prefer a crisis which can be leveraged to suit their purpose. Learn the tactics and use them. Just for fun, a couple of old ads.
This ad probably reinforced my thinking that a simple hamburger and fries diet was preferable to expanding my culinary horizons. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qdfMYFl0Ic And this was just a fun one with a WWII theme: https://www.oddballfilms.com/clip/90005_43108_05 #2: I trust NOTHING from the National Review. They are the original NEVER TRUMPERS. I'm pretty certain the Dems don't trust them, either, though they'll USE them.
Baltimore: Soooo, buy them out...or shut up. About the Coronavirus, the New York Times Argues With the New York Times: Just one more reason for me to say that I despise, detest, and totally distrust the NYT (the WaPoo, too). Even More COVID-19 Narratives Shift as New Administration Takes Charge: Of course, they'll STILL be blaming TRUMPP!!!111!! Federal Court Blocks Obamacare Mandate Forcing Doctors To Perform Transgender Surgery: YAY!! Profs effectively seek to ban books from Trump admin officials: Why are they so FRIGHTENED of that? The Politics of Personal Destruction: The Dems are a mob. As I keep saying, I don't know if the media is/are a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Dem party, or it's the other way round, but it's OBVIOUS the they are in CAHOOTS. Biden’s Purported Decency...is a lie. Re: Joe Biden, the new Santa Claus
Now that we have a Democratic President, all the blacks and women and union-members and old people are going to be waiting with trembling hands, to grab all the cash that Joe's going to be giving away. It will be Christmas from now on. But those vote-selling minorities don't realize that there's no such thing as a free lunch. That money has to come from somewhere: either payroll taxes, or newly printed money from the treasury. The truth is that any payroll tax above five percent is theft, and also, inflating the currency is also theft. But blacks don't care. They have made a career out of stealing money, and they're not going to stop now. It's also worth noting that President Trump has pardoned some people who were convicted of financial crimes. He had to do that. https://abovethelaw.com/2021/01/former-biglaw-partner-gets-a-trump-pardon/? Remember that when the treasury creates trillions of "new" dollars, it has to go through legal intermediaries, before that money reaches the black freeloaders. So if a guy a steals twenty million dollars in illegally printed money, that's just the price to be paid for distributing a trillion dollars in stolen tax money. That's why Democrats aren't complaining. After all, what could they say? Only that a small-time crook stole money from big time crooks. The Military and the Unions and the Blacks want it all. So the real issue isn't the money. It's the so-called "Civil Rights Legislation" which Washington D.C. uses as a justification to print that money. https://www.city-journal.org/bidens-inaugural-speech-words-of-division Before we can fix the Washington D.C. crack-whore spending problem, we first need to take all those bullshit laws off the books. Nobody ever agreed with the concept of "Civil Rights". In America, you have the right to work, and to pay your bills. You don't have the right to sit on your ass and smoke marijuana all day, at taxpayer expense. And you don't have the right to "bill" the tax-payer for the cost of your children. "Tell ya 'bout them Sobbin' Wimmen, that lived in the ROman days. It seems that they all went swimmin' when their men wuz out to graze. Then a Roman troop came ridin' by, and saw thwem in their 'me-oh-my', so they took 'em all back home to dry. Least that's what Plutarch says.
Baltimore suing over climate change...they must have pissed away all of their tobacco money and need more "feed" funds. They have definitely advanced beyond the need for doobies. Where's Hunter?
