Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Not betting on this, and not depending on the GOP to "look after its voters" - sounds too much like herding to me.
Need to get outside this box... If you understand what has happened then you will understand that no Republican will ever win the election for president again. And the same will be true for Republicans gaining control of congress again. There will not be a Trump running in 2024 or anyone who believes in American and democracy. What you will see in it's place will be the looting of America so that those in control can become millionaires and maybe even billionaires. All of those people who resigned because of what happened on the 6th did so because they want to keep their careers and stay at the trough. It was not some great stand of honor it was to keep from being canceled. NO ONE in Washington gives a fig for you and now that they rule everything they will make all the illegals citizens and bring in more immigrants and replace you. One day, not too far in the future you will not be able to go outside and walk around if you are of European descent. You are of no value to them anymore and that is exactly how they will treat you in the future.
"Who will stand up for everyday Trump voters..."
My shotgun; it's standing up, just leaning against the jamb at the front door. Everyday Trump voters. They voted for him because they perceived, rightly, I think, that there was nobody else who would. What the Professional Talkers still don't understand is just who all of the everyday Trump voters are. I don't think the Professional Talkers are capable of understanding this because they are so bound to their own premeditated self deception.
No one.
1/2 of Americans know their bast*rds won, but they don't care, because their side won. The other 1/2 are too weak to do anything about it. It isn't just the conservative Christians who are going to shun politics and "pop" society anymore. "Donald Trump thinks almost exclusively about Donald Trump"
Carlson better watch his mouth. His ratings are collapsing along with his network and he'd be wise to understand why. I agree. I am so weary of self anointed people who fancy themselves mind readers. They almost always get it wrong IMO.
I do think Tucker has a handle on other Middle America issues. I long, long ago lost patience with those of a reasonable persuasion who nevertheless peppered their support of the president (or, at least, his performance) with "qualifiers" of whatever sort --- objecting to the tweets, his style, etc. What ridiculous, moralizing clowns.
The GOP establishment seems to be following the lead of Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul, by disowning Trump and his America-first agenda. So I don't expect the GOP to stand by anybody who doesn't similarly disown Trump.
As for possible runs in later years, either by Trump or by other America-first candidates such as Ted Cruz or Don Jr., I suspect they may need to do it as independents or under a new third party, unless they can come up with so much money that they dominate the GOP establishment's donor list. Grateful for the concern, but I can look after myself very well, thank you. And I find time in the day to help people that are struggling to do the same.
There will probably be election reforms arising from 2020. Consider getting involved! Consider doing more than just voting; Plenty of doom-sayers are out there saying things like, 'there's no voting our way out of this' and so forth. I eagerly await news of their successful efforts, expecting none. If you're not figuring out how to get your unsuitable political representation primary'd, or are not registered as a voter in one party or the other, than you should question whether you are part of the status quo. If you are not making a pest of yourself to your Congress-critters, then how dissatisfied are you, really? "...they may need to do it as independents or under a new third party..."
Like Teddy Roosevelt and his Bull Moose party in 1912, that will only cause a split on our side and give the race to whomever the Democrats run. More likely they will avail themselves of local party establishments, much as the Left have, and play a long game. The Republicans are collapsing as a credible force almost as quickly as the media. A good many Trump supporters, being used to dirty jobs done well, are unlikely to shun the chance to clean up and clean out the bankrupt shell when the opportunity arises. In the meantime, the Democrats will be subverting and purging each other as they wrap up the three-decade-old struggle for control of what's left of their own swamp.
With a bit of patience and perspective, along with a great deal of hard work, the Trump supporters could well have the last laugh. If the pull it off, it will be a grand laugh indeed. How cute! You think that the election fraud hasn't already assured that Democrats are going to "win" from here on out.
Re: Who's watching out for Trump voters. Certainly not the same sorts who said, "Charles I? I never REALLY supported him! May I help sharpen the axe, Ollie, old buddy, old pal?" What sort of creature deserts a sinking ship?
Yeah. Who will look out for us? It's why I put this scene from the movie Waterloo up yesterday.
The scene is from the end of the battle. Napoleon has left the field and his Imperial Guard is being cut down by the British. The British call a Truce and ask The Guard to surrender. They are answered with defiant silence and a jeer. So the British massacre them with grapeshot. https://youtu.be/0F5zEHVl3tE?t=7405 The similarity I see is this, Trump is leaving the field of politics, but we deplorables are still here, just like the Imperial Guard. And we are losing the fight. Our choice is to submit and save ourselves or be wiped out. It won't happen as fast as it does in the movie to be sure, but make no mistake it is the Left's intent. We stand in the way of the Left's dream of Utopia, and they HATE us for that. I changed my voter registration to independent 3 months ago in preparation for this.
Voter roles are public information and if you don't think they won't be used to target Republicans, especially ones that supported Trump openly you're kidding yourself. And even if I am wrong, best safe than sorry. Trump and Trump voters stand up for Trump voters. There is a reason they still are trying to remove Trump even with less than two weeks left to his first term. It aint over...Yet. And they truly fear him.
"Who will stand up for everyday Trump voters facing retribution from the left?"
As a famous San Francisco police inspector once said, "Smith & Wesson" We need an American Brexit. Amerexit. Federexit. Republexit. or maybe just going Galt. It's over! You think I'm wrong? I can hear your eyes roll. OK! Wait awhile and get back to me.
We don't have a party and the only one looking out for us and who I call leader, is the last president of the united states republic, Donald trump.
Thats what the peaceful patriotic protestors were doing on Wednesday. THey were thinking of all of us.
Has it really just dawned on Tucker that the government class does not care about anyone but themselves? Sensible people keep that fact in mind and plan accordingly.
I will just go my own way, being retired...with recaps on my tires, out in the boonies.
We have nowhere else to go? I assume you are speaking about political parties. But everyone, and I truly mean everyone, had best realize that NOBODY has anywhere else to go.
If the Left wants to start playing the retribution game, there is going to be tit-for-tat retaliation. And there aren't enough private security firms to cover for all of them. Bosnia 1992, here we come. There is an analogy here between our laws and due process, and locks on our doors. Like the saying goes, those locks on my door aren't just for my protection so much as they are for yours. Take away my lawful rights, and you're stuck in here with me. And I don't believe in taking prisoners. |
