We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Organic farming is not always what it purports to be. If you think that chemicals and pesticides are not being used, think again. It is a case of making sure you read the fine print. It is highly regulated now, and some of the regulations might surprise you.
When I think I can tell a clear difference in taste or quality, I'm happy to shell out for the Green label. Otherwise: I'll take the proletariat fare, thank you.
It kills me when the market is out of the regular stuff and I have to spring for the organic. I'll often change menus on the fly rather than do that.

I stopped believing in organics. They do contain chemicals.
We raise butterflies in the summer from the tiny caterpillars
that are on the parsley, there favorite food which we feed them when we put them in containers. Store bought organic
parsley killed them. My favorite is bananas, I retrofitted
a banana processing plant, to ripen them they are infused in
a big controlled box with something marked " flammable ".
The organic bananas in the supper market are treated by
the same process.
Have to laugh, at the local Organic farmers, that want our "un Organic" cow manure. The hoops they have to jump through to "certify" how the soil was treated for 3 years prior to certification, while ignoring the blatant elephant.
"Could you take that grass off tomorrow? It's going to be Organic the day after, so it would really help me, then I won't have to keep that segregated as conventional feed."
Fraud, plain and simple.
Sorry, can't give you any. The space ship bringing our normal Inorganic delivery didn't arrive this week.
