Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

On Stupidity perfectly describes today's Democrat party:
QUOTE: Against stupidity we are defenseless. Neither protests nor the use of force accomplish anything here; reasons fall on deaf ears; facts that contradict one’s prejudgment simply need not be believed – in such moments the stupid person even becomes critical – and when facts are irrefutable they are just pushed aside as inconsequential, as incidental. In all this the stupid person, in contrast to the malicious one, is utterly self satisfied and, being easily irritated, becomes dangerous by going on the attack. re “This country faces a pervasive, growing attitude of intolerance and hate — what I have referred to in the body politic as an American cancer,” Cuomo wrote in his approval message.
What??? Yes. That's quite true. And it's emanating from Cuomo and his political party. He is incapable of introspection and misses the irony in signing the bill into law. The left created the meme that the confederate battle flag was racist and now they demand that the flag should be banned because... it's racist.
Ironically the BLM flag, slogan and mission is openly and intentionally racist. But the irony is lost on Cuomo. re On stupidity:
Merriam's defines stupid as: not having or showing an ability to absorb ideas readily https://www.merriam-webster.com/thesaurus/stupid Under that definition I would oppose Schneiderman's opinion. These people have readily absorbed the ideas and beliefs of the Left. They are NOT stupid. If you see the Left's positions as articles of faith in their religious dogma, then they are not any more stupid than those of us who believe that Jesus walked on water, turned water into wine, healed the sick, fed the multitudes with the loaves and fishes, and came from a virgin birth. If you are a True Believer in something, your attitudes and positions could well be based on faith, and if based on faith, it will be very difficult to turn those positions with science and logic. I have not been able to find People's Pundit in the last week, have you? I did subscribe to Locals.com to follow VivaFrei / Robert Barnes_ Law. https://twitter.com/Peoples_Pundit
https://www.bigdatapoll.com/blog/ https://www.peoplespunditdaily.com/polls/2020/12/16/reliable-polls-show-voters-do-not-trust-vote-by-mail-expansion/ Hope this helps. I don't follow him all the time so I don't know what might have changed - I know his wife was kicked off Tw*tter just before the election. Thanks for trying. I was watching PPD podcasts on YouTube; the last upload was just before YouTube began it's censorship effort. A few days ago Robert Barnes on Viva said he'd be doing "What Are the Odds" the following day with Richard Baris, but nothing appears to have been uploaded. I guess we just have to wait to see if Baris changes platforms. If I find PPD, I'll post.
Didn't realize you were referring to YouT*be. You might try their chat on Parlor or also Rumble, which more people are now starting to use. I didn't see the PP / BL podcast anywhere either.

A theft likely happened and from what I understand, not a single judge is interested in any evidence concerning this potential theft. This would be intolerable if the theft was a car or money. Some have already gone through that this past summer with the riots where prosecutors refused to charge and released people allegedly responsible for massive destruction of property. But this theft is of something much more valuable - our government “of, by, and for the people.” That theft was an earth-shattering event. It may require an earth-shattering response. I’ve been reading about people who have advised Trump to declare martial law in order to hold new elections in contested states. That has seemed to be extreme but the potential damage to the country of legitimizing a fraud (and likely perpetuating it) would be worse. I'm thinking every day about the appropriate response...but I just can't accept this preliminary outcome because it doesn't make sense, and much of the evidence I've read about indicates there is no way Biden won fairly.
I am not interested in a solution for the next election - I want 2020 corrected. Why doesn't Biden want this cloud removed - shouldn't he also be interested in resolving this dispute? There are more than 74 million who believe he wasn't elected but selected...I am not going away, I want to know the truth, and the left is underestimating the danger of ignoring me. Not all people who voted for Trump agree with you on this, so the 74M is not accurate.
Maybe... maybe not. But we are 100% sure that all the Biden votes were not real. And THAT is the point.
If not now, when? There is a sizable number of Democrats who think the election was stolen.
17% of Democrats think the election was stolen. 62% REpublicans, 28% Independents. So about 40% of the country.
However, whether people think an election was stolen is not any measure of whether it actually was. For that there needs to be evidence. And all the proposed evidence has melted away under scrutiny. The Democrats did game the system with mail-in voting, and probably did about the same amount of "helping" elderly people fill out ballots or overlooking problems with ballots that they always do. That is all. Everything else has been debunked, even on conservative sites.

THIS article follows on from my original piece in The Conservative Woman last week which discussed a large number of concerns which I have with the precipitous UK rollout of the Pfizer vaccine. This follow-up stands on its own, but is best read after the first article.
Pfizer have no idea if the vaccine can prevent symptoms or transmission https://www.conservativewoman.co.uk/more-serious-questions-about-the-pfizer-vaccine/ Here's the problem with the vaccine
"The trial data on the vaccinations released so far have not addressed the issue of transmission of the virus. That is, the data are based only on symptoms and COVID-19 testing, not on transmission to others." https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2020/12/covid_vaccination__warp_speed_ahead.html I agree! I think we should wait until everything is perfect no matter how many people must die while we wait.
Is there a statement that better incapsulates Obama and his sycophant followers, the left in general, than, IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE A DEMOCRACY IF PEOPLE DISAGREE WITH YOU? Which implies that you really don't even want a democracy. Obama, and the left, want to rule. What they say and think is the rule.
Obama also babbles on about the First Amendment, claiming that it is based upon the tolerance of government. Are you kidding me? Notice that government always comes first. His lack of understanding of the ideas that this country was founded upon, is abhorrent. We the people do not derive our rights from the government! The government does not grant us rights. We the people grant the government the right to exist. The left willfully ignores these basic facts of American law. A not-so-loony look at 2020 election results in battleground states: Devine : The battle has been lost, but the war continues. The battle has been lost, but the war continues.
If the battles and war are waged at the ballot box and the other side neutralized your ballots with fraud, how do you intend to wage this war? By winning beyond the level of cheating as we have always done. We await good answers (that will come to late, but be worth knowing) on Dominion, but other than that, this is the same level of gaming the system and bending the rules they have always done. Kennedy stole Illinois and West Virginia. Kerry stole Wisconsin in 2004. This is not new, or worse. Except, I grant, that Antrim County suspiciousness which still needs to be explained, and the nonsense about mail-in voting which Trump should have done something about instead of just shouting about it months ago.
I disagree. The level and the coordination is much higher than I've ever seen. We expect a few thousand dead people voting, maybe hundreds voting twice, etc. When do you remember counting being stopped, poll observers kept away from the counting process (even after a judge ordered observers back in), We used to hear about a box of ballots in the trunk of a car, this time we got a van load of ballots at several counting installations. There was every kind of fraud committed, the regulations on accepting signatures were relaxed or eliminated. Justice Alito ordered late ballots to be segregated in case they were to be excluded but they weren't, vote postmarks were backdated and many ignored. There were unheard of voter participation in only the important cities of the important states...
The statistical case sounds really bad. The GOP won every tossup congressional seat yet failed to with the presidency (Trump had coat tails but no coat?), Biden under performed Obama by winning only about 15% of counties but the most votes in history!? I think there is good evidence that Trump did win beyond the (previous) level of cheating. The Republicans are going to have to learn to cheat better than the Democrats.
That will further corrode trust in our political system, but barring any concrete fixes to the electoral process, I see no other alternative.

Sadly, I think you're right, feeblemind. We don't have the support of the MSM or social media so it's hard to make an argument to a mass audience. Pretty much, the only thing left after that is chicanery.
I don't think the MSM and social media dons realize the effect of what they are doing. But then, I don't think they care either.

"LGBT Activist Calls For All Children To Be Put On Puberty Blockers
Well, it would save parents a lot of trouble..." LOLOLOL The first item is the Mission Objectives statement:
QUOTE: Venezuela's "law against hate" is suddenly a key tool for Nicolás Maduro to repress dissent, particularly online. A Reuters review of over 40 recent arrests found in each case that authorities used the law to detain critics of the president, his aides or allies. The remainder are Progress Reports: QUOTE: 1. The district’s renaming committee decided Lincoln is not worthy of keeping his name on Abraham Lincoln High School because ‘the majority of his policies proved to be detrimental to [Native Americans].’ QUOTE: 2. California Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein is being canceled in her native city of San Francisco. The Dianne Feinstein Elementary School in the San Francisco Unified School District is going to be renamed after a lengthy social justice review determined that Feinstein was insufficiently woke at one point in her past. QUOTE: 3. The new law — effective immediately — prohibits the sale of hate symbols (Confederate Battle Flag) on public grounds including state and local fairs, and also severely limits their display unless deemed relevant to serving an educational or historical purpose. But Cuomo said the rule likely needs “certain technical changes” so the Empire State doesn’t get caught treading upon free speech protections codified in the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment. QUOTE: 4. "The First Amendment doesn’t require private companies to provide a platform for any view that is out there. At the end of the day, we’re going to have to find a combination of government regulations and corporate practices that address this," Obama fussily declaims. "New Canada Tourism Ad Urges People to Visit Canada to Enjoy Its... Stultifying Social Justice Warrioring"
First, notwithstanding the silly hyperbole of the Ace of Spades HQ site, Canada is no more a totalitarian state than the US is. Those who make such claims really have no idea about what it really means to live in a totalitarian state. Secondly, my very first thought as a Canadian when I watched that ridiculous and indeed stultifying ad was that it had been made for absolutely the wrong target audience. It was very clearly made for Canadians. And not just any Canadians, but the kind who harbour particularly delusional conceits about our country and its place in the world. Thank you for this. My two adopted sons were born in Communist Romania and we went on many mission trips there after the Iron Curtain came down. We saw it when the paranoid habits of communism were still normal in the villages We have many friends (and hair-raising stories) telling us about what it was like, even at the end when things were loosening. To call the US or Canada a totalitarian state is nonsense, and dangerous nonsense.
Conservatives are arguing like liberals more and more, on the basis of how bad they feel about things, as if their impression of how bad things are is a reliable measure. The data is weak, but they nod knowingly. It makes me crazy. There is a subset of conservatives who are just liberals turned inside-out. Back in the day, had an offspring studying in eastern Slovakia (we flew there through 9-11 but that's another story). This was an interesting experience, as there were still vestiges of Communism seen in societal decrees, not to mention a shrine to same just south of Hlavna. One of the main differences we noticed was with respect to donations. Offspring had various chem, etc., texts sent over for first year, after which they were donated to the university library. Apparently the library had never had donations before. In the grad year, we happened to pick up a batch of texts which were donated to the local library but which were specific to offspring's degree. We hauled them all over, along with a "donated by" stamp, and had offspring stamp and donate them. Weren't the most recent books but were in English and offspring had noticed frequently that textbooks from Canada were more recent than those the profs were referencing. Again, the library staff was amazed we would bring these books over for them.
Fast forward a good ten years, and the uni is commemorating the 25th anniversary of the beginning of the English language program. So offspring and I headed out for a very enjoyable few days. Offspring had managed to get hold of a very new edition of a particular text, so we quietly passed this on to the assistant rector on the way out of the opening ceremonies. Much to offspring's dismay, this became a big deal with formal presentation to the rector and photos which were displayed on the uni website. Obviously, donations still don't occur there. "A Thought for Today-- on Stupidity"
I immediately thought of P.J. O'Rourke's line: "Seriousness is stupidity sent to college." So Andrew Cuomo gets to decide what is and is not hate.
Gee. If we only had some sort of Amendment which prohibited a-holes like him from doing that .... It goes something like this:
"You can have your Amendments, and file your suits - We'll supply the judges" Amazon has a variety of F--k Cuomo flags available. I now have one on order. I've never flown the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia. It's going to be flying just below the above mentioned flag.
My wife has wanted me to fly one for years. She's a native Marylander. I've always associated the flag with an unwarranted rebellion- and have firmly refused. Now, doing what only misguided liberals can do. Dictator Cuomo has turned it into a pro-free speech and pro-first amendment symbol. BTW- I have direct ancestors on both sides of the fight. And some distant Southern cousins who fired upon my Union direct ancestor at the Battle of Drewry's Bluff. Forgot to mention- I have 3 flagpoles. What will be flying will be- the two just mentioned, the 50 star flag is being replaced with the Bennington 76 flag, the Navy flag will fly below that, and a generic Christian Flag with the Gadsden Flag beneath it. The first two will fly until a judge overturns the obviously unconstitutional law. The Bennington Flag will fly until our next Republican POTUS.
