Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

You know, unless those Covid vaccine side effects include a high likelihood of death, I'm thinking the trade off is worth it. Perhaps they're trying to talk people out of having the vaccine so they can keep the people control systems in place (lockdowns and such).
Overall, a very depressing set of links today.
MF is not wrong for posting them. Many are important. It's just that they make one despair. sigh . . . On the New Mexico Governor shutting down supermarkets: "....That’s right, any business that reports four or more positive COVID-19 tests in a two week period must then shut down for two weeks, essential business or not."
How long will it take for some jape to report their local hospital... Watching the Babylon Bee.... How To Survive ‘Climate Change’ At Thanksgiving: Sit down and gobble, gobble, gobble. CLEAN YOUR PLATE.

Incoming Biden NSA said U.S. should encourage China’s rise in 2017: Commie lovers... "How To Survive ‘Climate Change’ At Thanksgiving: Sit down and gobble, gobble, gobble. CLEAN YOUR PLATE."
Heh. Reminds me of one of P.J. O'Rourke's great lines: "Everybody wants to save the Earth; nobody wants to help Mom do the dishes." If you have ever watched patients screw up their treatment because they didn't like the side effects of the procedure or medication you wouldn't fault providers from hitting that warning hard. People want magic without cost, and real life seldom offers that. Best to know up front what to expect.
I can't help but suspect that blaming misinformation campaigns for the election losses is an effort to hide the real problem. After all if a majority of voters voted for Biden because they didn't know all the facts that is absolutely not breaking any laws and the courts won't touch it. It looks like this will be the Democrat mantra to avoid the real issue of massive voter fraud. Evidence now shows that congressional races in most states were also stolen or at least attempted to be stolen.
OMG! When are you people going to get it? WA State does not believe in clean elections. They (the daughters and sons of great wealth) have not allowed a clean election in at least 100 years. No one--not ever stepped into to tell them "NO". In 2000, the women decided they were "agents of change" because they have the power to: force homosexuality on Protestant churches;put a black man in office (his mommy grew up there);encourage all schools of journalism that investigative journalism was no longer to be taught, but rather our media systems would become programs of community bulletin boards. What you have all missed over the past 25 years is the decline in journalism curriculum. You refused to notice--you notice now don't you? You and your county Bar Association refused to confront in the courtroom in front of a jury--might have been the best contribution you could have made--to make sure those issues were challenged in court. Now who you gonna take on -- you big talkers. You wouldn't even show up to demonstrate because most of MF have degrees and white people with degrees don't march in protest. Bet you wish you did now! It is the only tool you have left. Microsoft and Boeing just bought your legal system, and you're freedom.
Re: Textiles
There's a really nice weaving school in Louisville. They have a collection of wooden looms, and a variety of classes. The artists there really make a wide assortment of textiles. And it's a great historical lesson, too. This kind of activity would be great for any school; kids love to make things, so they could take home some cloth, or an alpaca wallet for Dad. http://littleloomhouse.org/llh1/wp/?page_id=127 The blue turkey of South America
The link informs us that the ocellated turkey is found in Mexico's Yucatan and in northern Guatemala. Last I heard, these are not part of South America. I have had the good fortune of having eaten Kak-ik , a.k.a. turkey soup, for Christmas meals in Guatemala. I also witnessed the killing of the turkey. It wasn't the blue/ocellated turkey, though. Outside its range. Thanks for the reminder about Jordan Peterson's book. This time I may buy multiple copies for my family. Extra delight that somewhere a lefty is crying because it will be on the best seller list. And even to those lefty's I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving. Much to be thankful for in the middle of all this.
Re. the editors who broke down in tears.
What the business owner should do is pay attention! This should be grounds for firing. It would be like a bank owner hiring bank robbers. This desire to censor is the antithesis of the business they are in. Ditto for librarians and politicians. It should automatically make you ineligible for the job. Next I expect to hear that waitresses break out in tears when they are told we will no longer allow you to spit in the customers order if you dislike their politics. Jordan Peterson “12 More Rules for Life”'
>>> “He is an icon of hate speech and transphobia and the fact that he’s an icon of white supremacy, regardless of the content of his book…” The epitome of Cancel Culture: No need to read the book, who cares about content. That you dislike (hate!) the author, is sufficient reason to thwart publication. >>> “We publish a lot of people in the LGBTQ+ community…(will)…these authors...feel…supported by a company that is supporting somebody who denies their existence.” Why worry whether they feel supported, or not. Certainly you don’t pity them for possibly having hurt feelings, right? Perhaps it’s because they’re liable to leave your publisher and take their profits with them? Whoops, sorry, capitalist profits are immaterial, except they make your paycheck possible. >>> All of the workers who spoke to VICE World News said if the book isn’t cancelled, they would like Penguin Random House Canada to consider donating the profits from the book to LGBTQ organizations. I’m sure they have considered the idea, now that it’s been put forward. Since I haven’t heard of any of the authors or publishers of LGBTQ+ material donating their profits or advances & royalties to LGBTQ organizations, I would understand if Penguin balks at this idea. Trump Surrenders to the Deep State
With his presidency on the line, President Trump has folded like a cheap suit. And he doesn’t wear cheap suits. His decision to begin the “transition” to a Biden “presidency” means the Deep State has won. http://noisyroom.net/blog/2020/11/24/trump-surrenders-to-the-deep-state/ It's not over yet. I'm waiting for the punch back to happen in the next 2 weeks after the Dems get comfy then (hoping) pow the counter strike. There are several cases left throughout the country. At least my state, Florida, didn't screw up this time.
