Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

It is about the $. The media folks are simply actors reading from a script. The management of the news orgs dictate the how things are presented. The national media folks make salaries far beyond their talent of value. They're not going give up the $ for principles.
Joe Biden Presidency:
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but, if Biden prevails, I anticipate global corporatism continues apace. Lots of Republicans are down with it. Donald Trump and his supporters are/were the obstacle. “Build Back Better” is not original to Joe Biden; It’s just the latest rebranding of crony capitalism. At the end of the day, it is just top down government with the bureaucracy allied and coordinating with corporations. It is far more in sync with CCP values than American values, which they view as an inconvenient impediment. Bolstered by shallow neurotic chumps, the opportunists and sellouts win. Maybe it will be soft fascism, maybe not. Don’t be deceived; they do not wish Middle America well in any way, at all. They will once again open up the import of cheap labor and the import of cheap goods. No future in that for most people other than politicians like Biden and corporatists like Wallyworld and Google.
In Georgia the GOP is a huge threat to democracy. Democrats such as Andrew Yang have announced they are going to register to vote in the two upcoming US Senate runoffs. They can do this because there is no residency requirement to register, only an “intent” to live in Georgia.
The Republican Secretary of State continues to maintain a website so that anyone anywhere in the world can register, then get an absentee ballot sent anywhere. Yesterday Republican Governor Brian Kemp and Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced they are not going to do anything about the situation. This is a clear violation of the civil rights of legitimate Georgians, and the Republican Attorney General Chris Carr is also doing nothing. Maybe we should all declare our "intent" to move to Georgia (eventually) and request our absentee ballots.
why are you lying?
you made up a story thinking that no one would fact check. GA voting eligibility: https://georgia.gov/register-to-vote https://registertovote.sos.ga.gov/GAOLVR/beginRegistration.do QUOTE: Make Sure You're Eligible To register to vote, you must: Be a citizen of the United States Be a legal resident of the county Be at least 17 1/2 years of age to register and 18 years of age to vote Not be serving a sentence for conviction of a felony involving moral turpitude Have not been found mentally incompetent by a judge Yang said he was actually moving to Georgia, not taking advantage of an imaginary loophole that exists only in the imagination of jan paxety. QUOTE: Entrepreneur and former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang announced Monday he will move to Georgia to work for two Senate candidates in runoffs that will determine control of the upper chamber. https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/525115-andrew-yang-moving-to-georgia-to-help-democrats-win-senate-runoffs I watch almost no news now on TV and consume a limited amount of it online. For the past week, I've decided to completely tune out the news, and instead watch only news trends to see what I can identify. It has been a little surprising.
Themes are being relentlessly pushed, and I think they're designed only to move opinions, not actually provide useful information - and this in stories that are presented as news, judging from headlines and lead-ins. I've read Sharyl Attkisson's books but it's still alarming when it sinks in. It's like a low-grade version of the Roddy Pepper "They Live" sunglasses moment. I think there is a strong effort right now to demoralize and push people into accepting the Democrat's declared result if they aren't in that camp already. It's a lot sloppier than it should be. Don't do it, whomever you might have voted for (or not). Instead, every time you hear it mentioned, demand a comprehensive audit of the election in all of the battleground states, ballot by ballot, in a bipartisan fashion. The sanctity of election confidence cannot be amortized. It's not about winners and losers; people will argue candidates until blue or red in the face. Act on your beliefs, not someone else's. It's about elections - and with that stubborn refusal to accept on those grounds, we will insist until we get the real result. My wife, an immigrant, has been writing the President and the Supreme Court. She's disgusted. We should all be. Take action and engage your local, state, and national leaders and don't relent. General Flynn speaks on the election without mincing any words (From NewsMax).

Yes, I confidently expect to suck it up with at least as much grace as their example taught me.
Which Suck It Up shall we try first?
The 4-year Russia Election Interference/Collusion SIU? The Emolluments Clause SIU? The 25th Amendment Impairment SIU (probably not a bad choice)? The Chase-Them-Down-And-Beat-Them-Bloody SIU? The Run-Them-Out-Of-Restaurants SIU? The Logan Act A'int-Gotta-Case SIU? The Redneck-Deplorables SIU? The Daily Leak-it Wall-Closing-In Bombshell SUI? So many different ways to suck it up.... Deep resentments in politics..."Fair" is what most states hold in the fall of the year. And this year most of them canceled the fair. The only other fair is fair trade and the Donald covered that in his MAGA program.

Biden pledge: I will not declare victory until all the votes have been independently certified As of today Biden actually only has 224 electoral votes while Trump has 232. Something the media won't tell you. Election's not over yet, won't be until someone gets to 270. Roll the tape please, Chris

What Gen Flynn did ------------------------------------------------------------- There is a difference. Trump was already the admitted president-elect when Flynn talked to the Russian ambassador (Hillary having conceded). Biden is not even president-elect yet, he is just pretending he is. (Plus Biden was talking to the Palestinians even before the election.) The president has fundamentally changed the way politicians communicate with voters.
No mention of advancing world peace? --------------------------------------------------- Yesterday I was listening to a well-known British medical commentator (Dr. John Campbell) talking about the status of the vaccine(s), and in passing he said that the rapid research and development of vaccines was due in large part to the large amounts of money the United States has put into the effort. He didn't say it but of course he meant Trump. Who'll never get credit for doing that either. |
