Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Why is it always "Hitler! Hitler! Hitler!"
The Germans killed SIX MILLION Jews according to their count. The Communists murdered FIFTY MILLION across Russia and Eastern Europe. But those do not count, since they were mostly only Goyim, What was the Communist version of Kristallnacht? And why dare nobody speak of it??????????????????????? My retarded observation: Don’t leave out the 80 million or so that Mao killed in China. How many dead in Cuba? Venezuela? Commies gotta commie. They lie and kill people. It seems to be their special gift.
Chuck Schumer: “We’ll take Georgia, and change America!” Obama: “Fundamentally change America.” Fundamentally change it into what? AOC on the Trump accountability project: “Is anyone archiving these Trump sycophants for when they try to downplay or deny their complicity in the future?” AOC and the squad, are not the only ones calling for a Truth and Reconciliation panel. Gee, what could that possibly lead to? What could possibly go wrong? Oh, these are the caring tolerant lefties. All they want is for you to renounce your beliefs, bend the knee to their power. Joe Biden promises to gut the first amendment: “The idea of ‘religious freedom’ as a reason to allow discrimination has stoked divisiveness in this country.” The Communist Chinese are out and about gathering consensus to eliminate Taiwan as an independent government. Who thinks that Biden will stand with Taiwan? He’s bought and paid for. A dark Dilbert strip.
A harbinger of things to come? https://www.arcamax.com/thefunnies/dilbert/s-2436786 As far as I can tell, the tribe was NOT intimately involved in those murders in China, Cuba, and Venezuela. They were, however, neck deep in those in Russia and Eastern Europe.
Don't forget what the Khmer Rouge did to their own people in Cambodia. Directly murdered 2.5 million people out of 8 million population. It's why the median age in Cambodia is something like 25 years, because most of the older people were murdered by the Communists. Which they only embraced because their King, Norodom Sihanouk, vouched for them. The King totally sold his people down the river. Fortunately the present King seems like a decent chap and actually cares about his people.
QUOTE: My retarded observation: Don’t leave out the 80 million or so that Mao killed in China. You know yourself best. What do deaths in China have to do with Kristallnacht? Try to keep up, Henry. Mr. Matis brought up the total deaths from Russian communism. I am making sure that all those killed by the evil, repugnant marxist ideology, are not forgotten.
The article is called "Kristallnacht: Nov. 9-10, 1938; The Night The Holocaust Began," not "My Obsession With Communism."
You can read? you did read the original article, didn't you? Or are you just hijacking the thread? If you and "Mr" Mattis are upset that there weren't more Jews killed, you can take comfort in knowing Hitler murdered another five million others. So WTF do Stalin, Mao, et al have to do with Kristallnacht?

I don't mind perspective on the horrors of other ideologies. However your comment, and your follow on, seem to say that you consider the 6 million unimportant. It is fitting and proper for the world to remember a key event in the unfolding of a tragedy of the last century. If people bring up the Armenian genocide or the Rape of Nanking that is reasonable. The way the thread progressed, it seems that people are singling out the Jews as ones who should not be remembered. I hope that is accidental to the expression of the conversation and not what people are really thinking.
Before jumping to conclusions about how I just don't understand how terrible communism was and how this Holocaust thing is oversold, you should know that my third and fourth sons were born behind the Iron Curtain, so I have likely rescued two more people than any of the rest of you. Jew lie!
The tribe screeches incessantly about their "Six Million". But not ONE DAMN WORD about the FIFTY MILLION they helped murder. The real shame is that the Germans were not more efficient. The world would be FAR better off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought that was where you were going. They did not "help" murder those 50 million others. Jews were part of the population in Russia and were on all sides of the conflict in the revolution and following. They were not overrepresented among the Bolsheviks, for example, and were killed by them as often as any other group. If you think differently, it is because you don't know history. And if you have this much information but still don't know history, it is because you are choosing first to be anti-semitic, then going looking for data to support your point.
I made my living for forty-two years working with the paranoid, and I know there is no reasoning with them. They just know and facts do not penetrate. In daily life, it is best to just let them rant unless they start talking about hurting other people. In a public forum, however, they need to be refuted with simple data. For those who want good data, I recommend Timothy Snyder's Bloodlands:Europe Between Hitler and Stalin. I don't like his politics much, but he is a good historian. Perhaps because he's a little paranoid himself. It's always "Hitler! Hitler! Hitler!" But never "Stalin! Stalin! Stalin!"

re: quarantine for Thanksgiving
If the author were in my family I would talk to everyone else and come up with a plan that leads her to believe we were all having Thanksgiving via Zoom. And then make our plans without her. RCP Marks Pennsylvania As “Undecided”
This is not a change, as near as I can tell RCP never declared PA for anyone. One can look back in Google and Bing search 'cache' option and over the days that the RCP site was saved, and once it got to the current numbers it has not changed in days. I check RCP every day, and I too am unable to recall seeing that 254 count ever move upward--but I'm not 100% sure.
It's odd, too, how the House and Senate counts haven't moved in many days. Are the remaining states making any progress at all in counting ballots? In AK they've reportedly reverted to the way they counted before 2016, which is to count on election day the:
• in-person votes on election day and • early in-person votes that were cast before October 29 Early votes from October 30 onward are held back for counting beginning today, as are mail-in/absentee ballots, so that they have time to cross-reference and be sure that none are from voters that voted on election day or early-early in-person voting. In NC, there is a super long window for postmarked-on-time but delivered late ballots to arrive, so counting is essentially on hold until the deadline. I can't see that anyone seriously believes that there would be enough to change things, but D-party and postal union have been making a stink for months alleging that USPS management were deliberately slowing ballot delivery and return. . . . over the days the page was save at the internet archive is what I intended to type.
https://archive.org/ Anyway, Sean Spicer has issued a correction: https://twitter.com/seanspicer/status/1325993610840584193 If you love this country as much as you have claimed, and want to express your anger at what has been done to our election process--this coup d'erat by big money and the press, here are some things you can do.
1. STOP BUYING ON AMAZON--use your lazy finger and go to the website of the actual manufacturer of the product, or a store that sells it. Most likely you will have to eat the $5 shipping, but that is a small price to pay for our Democracy--don't you think? 2. DO NOT BOOK on ALASKA AIRLINES (it is also Seattle owned) pay a little more and fly another carrier. 3. DO NOT SHOP AT COSTCO. For gosh sake if you need a case of something go to your local chain and buy a case--they'll give you 10% off! 4. DO NOT BUY new computer unless you absolutely must! If you must purchase a new computer because yours has gone for good--buy APPLE--STOP the flow of cash to Microsoft. It is after all, MICROSOFT that just gave the "Biden Campaign" 50 million dollars. How it was distributed will never be clear, but my thought is probably to the various press and media. If we all start to do these simple things today the power structure that has denied the citizens of WA State the right to clean elections for many, many years, will know that they cannot do the same thing in the rest of the country without feeling some pain in their pockets! Remember: 1. NO AMAZON purchases 2. NO COSTCO purchases 3. NO ALAKA AIR purchases 4. NO PC purchases START TODAY! Let's help these ego maniacs feel the pain! Not buying from Amazon, or Costco also sends a signal to CHINA!
Stay out of our government! My family are having Thanksgiving together, and there will probably be a few drop-in friends as well, nobody will be wearing a mask, and nobody will be quarantining. We've caught on to the scamdemic, thank you very much.
You mean like these folks?
https://wjla.com/news/local/been-to-delaware-lately-you-cant-visit-dc-right-now-per-the-citys-covid-19-rules All nonessential travelers coming to D.C. from coronavirus hotspots elsewhere in the United States will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser announced during a late July press conference. The order went into effect Monday, July 27, and lasts through October 9. It does not apply to neighboring states Maryland and Virginia. https://www.fox5dc.com/news/dc-mayor-muriel-bowser-trip-to-delaware-for-biden-speech-considered-essential-travel Delaware is on the District’s list of High Risk states, which requires those traveling from a state on the list for “non-essential” reasons, to quarantine for 14-days. Those who travel for “essential reasons” are told to self-monitor to self-monitor for 14-days, or self-quarantine if they show symptoms. The Mayor’s office tells FOX 5 the trip is considered “essential travel” because the Mayor met with members of the Biden-Harris campaign in her “official capacity” as D.C.’s Mayor while there. This explains why they let Joe sit in his basement.

If the vaccine covers strain 123, are you protected from strain 213 or 321 (to the infinity of mutations)? If you already survived Covid, are you better or worse off getting vaccinated? If you have already survived Covid, should you even need a vaccine? Logically, in this crazed environment, don't you need to quarantine after getting the vaccine? 'Cuz if you don't, then why can't we just go ahead and catch it naturally? What happens in the 10% it doesn't "protect"?
Same as with measles - we don't need to get to 100% immunity in order to effectively stop spread, and couldn't anyway because of people a) allergic to the egg base used to cultivate the vaccine b)immunocompromised individuals who shouldn't be given more stuff to 'fight', c)etc. We won't have the egg-allergy problem with the Pfitzer vaccine. The wikipedia article on 'herd immunity' is actually pretty good, but don't try typing those two words together in a facebook or twitter post. If the vaccine covers strain 123, are you protected from strain 213 or 321 (to the infinity of mutations)? From what I've read so far on the Pfitzer mRNA vaccine, yes If you already survived Covid, are you better or worse off getting vaccinated? Better off. Your level of protection depends on how hard you were hit, in many the post-covid antibodies are unmeasureable, and we still don't know for sure how long post disease immunity lasts (or post-vaccine, for that matter . . .) Logically, in this crazed environment, don't you need to quarantine after getting the vaccine? No, because althogh the vaccine gives something for your immune system to fight, it is not the virus and is not in any way communicable. |
