Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Polls: I don't know, but according to the People's Pundit (YouTube channel), there is a substantial ice berg off Biden's bow.
We can only see the tip. Based on that, we know it is big, that it skews Trump, and that it ranks high on enthusiasm. Yikes, I omitted the description of voter block who make up the iceberg: Working Men.
"I am a never-Trumper..."
...that article demonstrates that even sincerely religious people can get caught in the false dichotomies and framing of the Left-leaning media/academia. And develop their own version of virtue signalling. Clearly, a lot of people don't realize that Trump is the symptom not the cause, and that he is a stand in for the Normies of Working America, enduring the abuse meant for the rest of us. I can't tell if the Prog fixation on Trump is out of stupidity, obtuseness, or if it's down to cynicism by the Left. By cynical, I mean the Left knows that Middle America rejects the creepy, self destructive, Prog agenda, so they make Trump the issue and the focus. It's deflection. OTOH, maybe the Dem rank and file isn't capable of thinking beyond shallow personality cult memes. It must work, or they wouldn't be doing it.
Regards : Im' a never trumper:
I stop reading when a blogger whom I'm never heard of starts: "This is a post about my feelings, and if you aren’t too thrilled with these feelings, welcome to the club." Why should we care about some unknown's feelings? It's another person halfway there. When the writer is picking apart the Democratic case, there are citations to prove & emphasize the point. On the other hand, when it comes to describing the Trump administration, no citations, just the 'feelz' and lots of emo-adjectives. But that's OK, as long as they're thinking critically about something. They're waking up.
It'll be all COVID, all the time - for the next week, with the disease coming into season and no other Trump objections left, that make any sense. The networks are dutifully complying. Don't forget to vote early and stay away from crowds (RIP ol' Remus) Fully reopen schools...Why, oh why do we continue funding politicized public schools, with politicized employees, and a politicized agenda that turn out brainwashed and propagandized students in which few students are capable of dealing with reality. And then we wonder why the public institution is failing and can't seem to find a way to fund alternate education institutions that are not run by the public bureaucracy and driven to satisfy the parents and students demands.
Charter Schools are coming with School Choice, and so are teacher evaluations. Trump is already shutting down Critical Race theory and the 1619 Project, and priming the pump for the Firing of the Incompetents in civil service.
There will be a big dose of schadenfreude when the public teacher's unions cut their own throats by refusing to allow public schools to open.
Reminds me of how the steelworkers helped gut the nation's steel industry in the 1970's by demanding too much, and creating a market opening for foreign imports, while bankrupting US steel companies who were already struggling with new environmental regs. There aren't many/any furnaces running in the Pittsburgh area anymore. Lots of jobs lost. Friends and relatives of Michael Brown claim he told them he was having conversations with angels days prior to his death. If he was having schizophrenia episodes it would explain all of his behavior.
Never-Trumpers: I Pity Da Fools (THANK YOU Mr. T!) These folks are all "Nobody Likes Me, Everybody Hates Me, I'm gonna go eat WORMS." Poor, POOR, pitiful them!
What Killed Michael Brown? Fentanyl is what I'v read. President Trump makes a bold move to weaken the swamp's power: Shoulda done it earlier, but "now" works for me. Clinton: ‘No Doubt’ I Would Have Handled Coronavirus Better Than Trump: ‘I Was Born For That’: Still lying to us... ROGER SIMON: I’m Ready to Be Reeducated, Mr. Reich.: Seems to me, that the DEMS need reeducation faaaaaaaaar more than he does. Atlantic: Progressive who label Trump a ‘fascist’ don’t seem as upset by the real thing in China: I don't care what the ATLANTIC says; I don't trust it. The New York Post endorses President Donald J. Trump for re-election: The NYT, however....is/are idjits. White House Watch Biden 49%, Trump 47%: Basement Joe doesn't know how many Trump supporters are out in the wild, cuz they don't talk to pollsters. Media Firemen Scramble to Save Biden Candidacy: As I keep saying, I don't know if the media is/are a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Dem Party, or if it's the other way round, buu it's OBVIOUS that they are in cahoots. Feeling Pushed Towards Trump: "The message I am getting from the left is that I am a target they mean to destroy. I’m not real comfortable with that." ANNNNNNNNNNNND, you shouldn't be. THIS is your epiphany. "This is the only way for a pluralistic society to survive. What I am seeing is that the Left which Biden and Harris pander to cannot tolerate this pluralism." You've just noticed????? VOY, eh? What killed Michael Brown? Incredible cultural stupidity, low IQ, and drugs.
I am sick and tired of the police treating these rioters and looters with kid gloves. Shoot the looters. Shot any rioter with a brick or other weapon in their hand. Stop indicted good citizens who defend themselves against these stupid hordes of looters. Instead reward them on national TV. My suggestion for an appropriate reward is an AR-15 given to them by the local sheriff or police chief. Hot Air re the Atlantic article: "portraying China as an enemy, since this is what Trump has done—often with considerable resort to xenophobia and without distinguishing between the Chinese regime and the Chinese people." That is really not true...prior to the Covid-19 outbreak, China spoke with respect of the Chinese leadership, saying that they have been better negotiators than their American counterparts but that that is their proper role. Acknowledging that you have a competitor doesn't mean that you hate him, even having a country as an enemy doesn't automatically mean that you hate all its people.
And he hasn't 'failed to distinguish between the Chinese regime and the Chinese people' any more than the Democrats have distinguished between the Russian regime and the Russian people. The pandemic will miraculously end as soon as Biden wins the election. The sun will start shining, schools will open up, and everything will be all right again.
At least that's what the mainstream corporate media is telling me. re: What Killed Michael Brown?
I watched this documentary last weekend on Amazon Prime Video. (They initially refused to carry it, then relented.) Recommended. Shelby Steele has an interesting perspective and life story to bring to bear on race matters, and he finds and includes many other perspectives that one does not see in the MSM. He spends about the first half of the film making the case that it was NOT racism that killed Michael Brown. In the remainder of the film, he makes the case that it was the paternalistic liberalism that began in the 1960s. The last 12 minutes or so bring it all together. The film is 1:49 total. Quote from about 1:38: "The liberalism that came out of the 60s has proven to be a more insidious oppression than either slavery or Jim Crow segregation. Those oppressions confined your person. Liberalism wants your very soul. It wants you to be a grateful and mindless captive, but a captive nonetheless." Government Cameras Hidden on Private Property? Welcome to Open Fields
Government employees can legally trespass onto your property and set up cameras to spy on you. No warrants needed. The courts have ruled you have no privacy on your property outside your home. https://www.agweb.com/article/government-cameras-hidden-private-property-welcome-open-fields If I found a camera with no identification on my property I would remove it. If I knew it belonged to the government and that they would invade my home if I removed it then I would simply put one of my cloth masks on it.
I used to fish. It wasn't my life but I enjoyed it. But the regulations became so complicated that I just gave up. I have seen wardens hiding in the brush watching the fishermen. I don't agree with anyone breaking game laws but why do they have to be so complicated. It is almost as though the intent is to make it impossible to not break game laws. And then they slink around in the grass to catch you. I have always thought regulations were made complicated precisely so that people could be caught violating them.
As for the camera, one wonders if there is a RFID chip in them so the government knows precisely where to look for it? I think if I came across a camera, well, the camera might be theirs, but the tree and branch is mine. I would probably have to take the chainsaw and trim that branch and burn it. Not my fault if I didn't see the camera before I burned the limb. I didn't know it was there. This is old but it is a great Halloween prank.
Dog disguised as giant spider terrorizes the unsuspecting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoB8t0B4jx4 Watching Tucker and Bobolinski tonight, it is clear that Biden MUST get elected or he is going to jail. But Biden didn't do all this without Obama's allowing him too and obviously the CIA and FBI would have to have known about this. There is NO WAY that these powerful people are going to let Trump win, Their lives literally depend on Biden's presidency and the power of a presidential pardon. I would not be surprised to wake up tomorrow and discover that Bobulinski committed suicide. This shit is getting real.
