Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Wednesday, October 21. 2020Trump’s Campaign Is The Worst I’ve Ever SeenTime will tell. I am not sure what the campaign is about this year. Not clearly defined, because Trump has already solved many of the problems. Seems as if Trump is running on "America" and Biden is running on "Bad Orange Man Made Virus."

President Trump has my sympathy. For those of you who don't know, the President is not free to discuss anything he wants. He's got a staff of people who consider every issue, and then recommend a course of action. And you can be sure that they don't recommend any discussion of our budget deficit, inflation, the huge cost of our military, the huge cost of our elderly, and the huge cost of black people, and their complicity in the HIV epidemic. So that limits what the President can actually talk about.
Read this: "When the president ... mocks a governor who just dodged a kidnapping and murder plot aimed at her, do you suppose that’s a net winner or net loser for him electorally?" Well, there's a chance that the government manufactured the whole story. You know: Evil white men who kidnap people!!! But the President, for all intents and purposes, is being held captive. He's not allowed to question that story. Or to question the budget. Or to question feminism. Or to question communism. He is surrounded by people who are planning a coup d'etat. Washington D.C. is preparing to initiate a lockdown; with rationing, and work assignments. The President is not allowed to talk about that, either. Trump's campaign is centered largely on his rallies. The major thing you come away with after watching them is that he talks TO his audience (and all of us by extension). They are not a speech but more like he's sitting in your den talking to you.
We need more more campaigns like that! Luntz doesn't mention Biden's campaign which for the most part consists of him in one of his basements snoozing. I wonder what Luntz thinks about Biden's campaign. Trump is holding rallies all over the Country before massive crowds - several per day sometimes. How is that a "bad campaign"? He's killin' it.
I'd say Biden's campaign is the worst I've ever seen ... if he was actually running one.
I suppose you're gonna DISS Biden's 15 (you read that right, FIFTEEN) car rally last week in FLA?
As opposed to Trump's 30,000 (you read that right, too, THIRTY THOUSAND) car rally, also in FLA! I am so tired of frank luntz.
He was wrong in 2016, so he comes back as the new and improved frank luntz. How was the new coke? Luntz works for fox which doesn't want trump. Luntz is still mad about Trump calling him a "low class slob".
Trump's campaign isn't perfect, but it's better than Hillary's was, and Biden's as well. The virus, the MSM, and pretty much all the governmental institutions working for four years to get rid of him is tough to overcome. Remarkable he still has a shot at all. I watch the People's Pundit, a YouTube channel. Rich Baris is a private pollster, not a poll reader. There is a Big difference. Based on the many surveys he has reviewed, he thinks Trump would be killing it, if the electorate wasn't so worn down by one crisis after another. It's naïve to think these crises, admittedly manufactured by the media, haven't taken a toll on the president's support. Trump is naturally optimistic which is important, but Baris urges him to emphasize to the electorate that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that we, the People, will get there. Don't give up, don't lose the progress that has been made. Don't let them win. Don't let them destroy the Bill of Rights, or replace our government with top down unaccountable regulatory bureaucracies, or reduce our jobs to dead end, temp service jobs, or make us energy dependent, or subject us to Chinese domination......
Luntz grew a beard thinking it would make him look like less of a jerk
Luntz is struggling for relevance now that polling, like much of the nonsense that is connected to the media and reporting, is irrelevant. Almost nobody responds truthfully to polls. People are tired of the endless gaslighting, and the way they fight back is to screw with the perpetrators. I trust a tarot card reader more than a person in the media because they are honest about what they are doing.
Without exception all the Democrats and never Trumpers, Rinos and the MSM only want Trump to succeed so of course they all give him the same advice, for his own good, don'tcha know. If Trump would just stop tweeting and calm his rhetoric and act presidential all would be well. I'm sure their advice is sincere. All these groups and people have never lied to us before, right?
Mr. Luntz made the exact same prediction in 2016. He's lost a lot of credibility.
“Based on the many surveys he has reviewed, he thinks Trump would be killing it, if the electorate wasn't so worn down by one crisis after another.”
Frustrating but true. Trump is likely going to lose because the news media just spent the last four years ignoring good news and screaming at people that the world is ending. Luntz needs to distract from Hunter Biden emails that show Luntz to be a complete fraud, on sale to highest bidder, etc. What a putz.

I think Trump's strategy is clear. Since the Left decided to make the election about Trump and ignore the issues; Trump is counter attacking by making it about Biden. Is that a winning strategy? I don't know; but Trump has more ammunition. Of course Biden has more allies, including the Never Trumpers who call themselves Republicans but are willing to sell out to the Left due to TDS. I think Trump has for the most part given the electorate credit for being able to see, and understand, everything that has happened during his first term. If he is making a mistake, it may be in giving the electorate too much credit. Not playing by the "standard" rulebook that was written by one's enemies.
That's what he's been doing all along. It's a great strategy that jiu-jitsus the advantage of the Dems owning the media. He is a grown up shmoozer/negotiator/businessman who saw these immature people close up at Wharton, as a New Yawk socialite, and as a TV personality. He knows that the media cycle is driven by novelty, and is making the greyhounds chase the rabbits of his choosing - while revealing themselves in all their ugliness. He is taking his message where the eyeballs are, in a memorable way. Tweets and rallies - cutting the opinion makers out and forcing them to relate to what he is saying as much as possible. The handwringing about him not being conventional is betrays incredible lack of media savvy. The idea that we should fret that he's less dignified than a Biden, Harris, or Clinton - or a raft of Congressional Dem clowns - is laughable. I am reminded of the clod-hoppingly provincial kibbutz-bred Lefties in Israel who simpered that Begin - and then Netanyahu - wasn't presidential enough. Not bred for leadership (like that nice man Krushchev and his shoe...). That he was supported by the "deplorables" in the outer burgs. Please stop letting lefties wind you up. Or frame us and our guy with their expectations. this whole thing is about dragging their projected, self-deputized taste-making authority up into people"s consciousness, where it - and what "everybody knows" - can be debunked, exposed, and rejected. That most definitely means not playing by their rules. That discomfort you feel? For 70-100 years the Left has assiduously shaped an imaginary left-leaning Everybody that lives rent free in most American's heads. Even moreso in the college educated. With the help of Trump and other patriots, conservatives and clear eyed folks, that dybbuk is finally dying under its own contradictions and failures. That is the cause of your unease - and hard Leftist's rabid fury. If you don't get this - vote, pray, then sit back and stop complaining. |
