Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

The Progressive Left "believes in Science!" - and they do this by nominating experts who believe in their chosen Policy. Having appointed the Expert, they then demand that All must believe the demands of Settled Science as per the Expert - and of course obey this Policy.
Normal people witness policy attempts - like COVID Mask policies, fr'instance, or COVID Shutdown policies, for another - and conclude that science is never settled and always subject to new lessons. And that policies should reflect an understanding of common sense, and shift accordingly. Reporters all seem to believe that their self-involved bubble can be extrapolated to represent the entire world; This one read a book and is now qualified to condemn the demographics of the oil business. I drilled an offshore gas well once and we had about 400 people working on the project, coming and going offshore as needed. We had 32 different nationalities represented as far as we could determine. Mostly not white. Almost all male. To call this reporter clueless is to insult stupid people. Numbers from August Biden raised more, but Trump started out ahead. https://www.npr.Org/2020/05/20/858347477/money-tracker-how-much-trump-and-biden-have-raised-in-the-2020-election The maps and Top 10 counties down the page tell an interesting story: Since 2019 the Democrat Elite have really pegged on donations: NYC, L.A., Seattle, D.C., SanFran, Chicago, Baltimore, Boston, Silicon Valley, Silicon Valley. By that listing (Top 10), the Democrats have out-raised Republicans by almost 40%. Wealth Inequality, anyone? Shall we talk?
And yet including all counties in the US, the Trump campaign has outraised overall by about 35%. Yup, lots of interesting stuff there.
Campaign committee fund raising Biden Large dollar (>$200): $95,191,697 Trump Large dollar (>$200): $29,196,905 A whole swath of the country between the Mississippi River and Rocky Mountains from the Gulf Coast to the Canadian Border where Biden has received little to no money except for scattered pockets. Cities Cave to Senseless BLM Rage: Trump should tell all mayors and governors that they will get NO FEDERAL FUNDS to rebuild their cities if they haven't or don't jail the rioters, or didn't even try to stop them. Why Americans Can't Just 'Listen to the Experts': Because they don't all agree. Democrats have no case against Amy Coney Barrett — but that won't stop them: She's not a Dem, so she's CLEARLY double-plus no good. Trump Nominated for His 4th Nobel Peace Prize — This Time For His Work in Ending the Era of Endless Wars: The HORROR!!!! The horror.... Dems SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BUMMMMMMMMMMMEDDDDDDD. Is 50+ Years Of Failure Theater Finally Catching Up To The "Palestinians?" Well, is is looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong overdue. "Signs that Trump isn't going to win"
Trump is going to lose. The Democrats will steal the election blatantly right in front of us. It is easy to steal the presidential election. It will be decided by a mere five swing states. Within those states typically it is one county that determines the vote for a state and within that county it is typically one city. At best the Democrats only need to stuff ballot boxes in five cities. They will do this and it will be obvious to anyone watching it but the MSM will try to hide it and the Republicans will simply not do very much at all to stop it or reverse the effects. Fakest of the Fakey FAKE NEWS :
"Strapped For Cash, Trump Yanks TV Ads In Key States As Biden Spending Surges" Dumb enough to believe that??? Then....Keep your face diaper on and stay alone at home, even through the election! And remember: Even those MAIL-IN ballots can carry Covid into the heart of your home and KILL YOU!.......LOL! Re: Now New Evidence Shows Masks Are Ineffective
Now that the CDC says masks are ineffective and only 6% of deaths are from COVID alone (99$ of all cases are mild), even the WHO says lockdowns are counter productive, there are effective treatments for COVID (e.g. Chris Christie who is a poster boy for comorbidities), and there is a vaccine on the way, can we get back normal NOW? Re: Pope Francis
Mrs. mudbug and I had been going to a Methodist church for almost twenty years. They are supposed to be pro-life but in all that time, we did not hear one word about abortion - even with NY state voting for unlimited abortion and Gov. Blackface (or is it KKK?) of Virginia suggesting that after a child is born, the mother and doctor would "have a conversation..." We did hear a lot more about LGBT+, immigrants, and guns so we are in the process of leaving. We considered taking catechism and joining a Catholic church, like our daughter, because we think they are serious about not killing babies but this pope is a disgrace. There's no way we could have anything to do with him. We're still looking... We basically left the Methodist church when they left us with their liberal leftist leanings. Researching a group of female "ministers" as to where some our church givings were going, we found it paid for leftists/lesbian women marching in DC for causes against biblical teachings. Also, when our minister at the time basically told us to vote for Obama and scowled at the other side. Need to find another denomination but The Roman Catholic Church is not the one for us.
The Pope has very little to do with a Catholic parish, almost nothing. The bishop will have much more influence, but even then, if you have a good priest and active parishoners you'll find that political ideology doesn't play a part.
Abortion, on the other hand, is often brought up in homilies. And it's not just rants against abortion. The Church takes an active role in offering alternatives to young women who realize they have made mistakes. Housing, education, adoption, free ultrasounds, counseling for women who have had abortions, etc. It's a totally different culture from much of society. re Pope Francis Declares That The Catholic Church Will No Longer Accept Donations Earned Via Capitalism
It's from The Bee. I marvel at how close they can come to reality. Blush!
Thanks for the correction, feeblemind! I should have checked the link but as you say, the Babylon Bee is becoming more predictive than satirical every day. After all, USA Today factchecked an article in the Bee not long ago. That aside, the Pope has still lost me. Maybe Mrs. and I will reconsider when there is a new pope. A priest trashed capitalism in a sermon last March. If he'd done this about some of the immoral or unethical consequences of capitalism, I'd get it. But it was a wholesale condemnation. So we've redirected the 10% of our income tithe to a women's resource center.
You cannot believe what the Dems are doing in MT. Yes, you are right they only have to steal the two college towns and they will win big (one senator, and the only congressman, plus the governor, etc.) Our local paper says that Montana has received more ad money than any other state of this size. They are hideous here--the nazis from Seattle moved in about ten years ago. I see that they are now moving into SO. Carolina (Boeing has moved a huge plant to SC and with it will come the marxists!
Lots of sleeper links in there today to find out who reads the articles and who reads the headlines.
Well, initial recommendations not to wear masks were done out of concern for first responder and health care workers needing all the masks available back in Mar/Apr, which was long before the great mask production ramp up began. That was when masks completely disappeared in the retail market and were rationed to hospitals and other users who really needed 6-10 one use masks per day but ended up with 1 mask/week.
I'm not sure where you are going with that. Are you saying they lied then or they are lying now?
