Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Reparations:
I say to the Moonbats, "What's stopping you? If your ancestors benefitted from slavery that's on you. If you feel obligated to compensate the descendants, do it. Set up a foundation, donate your money and distribute it." Leave the rest of us, who didn't benefit, which is most of us, alone. "'We Can't Wait" Any Longer For Slavery Reparations"
Though I somehow suspect that Danny Glover, a well compensated actor worth somewhere around US $50 million, can indeed wait forever. Why doesn't the Democratic party pitch in for reparations? They were the organization that supported slavery, instituted Jim Crow, and formed the KKK.
They would apparently prefer to continue to lie about their involvement saying: "For more than 200 years, our party has led the fight for civil rights..." (https://democrats.org/who-we-are/our-history/) As the theme of today's links indicates, and as Angelo Codevilla writes - we are in the middle of a revolution from above. A long read but very well worth the time.
americanmind.org/essays/revolution-2020/ Debates: I don't think that Trump's tactics worked for him. He couldn't shut up long enough to let Joe flail and slip into his geezer stories.
As for Wallace, we all knew it wouldn't be a level playing field. Some of his questions were phrased to incorporate false premises. For Those That Thought Wallace Was Bad: Look at the scheduled moderators, an' hold muh beer!
The whole false binary is built on false premises. What actually happened no longer pays the freight, particularly in the style to which they've become accustomed.
I think the Biden tactics were more effective than Trump’s. Trump was bombarded with false or half baked claims and the Wallace questions were framed to incorporate false premises. Though, I understand Trump’s impulse to refute them all, it resulted in him appearing too defensive, too reactive, too disruptive and less coherent. I really thought Trump danced to Biden’s tune more than vice versa.
Is Trump, presidential? Hell no, and his base doesn’t care. What impact did the debate have, hard to say. I’ve said for four years, It’s not about Trump; it was never about Trump. It’s Middle America fighting back. Many voters reject the assault, by the Dems, on Middle America and the undermining of what makes America, America. They especially reject what the so called “elites” want to put in it’s place. It ain’t a better mousetrap and is enormously destructive to working Americans. That’s what the Left and the media, has failed to grasp and why most attacks have failed to make a dent in his base. The Trump voters have nowhere else to go. IMHO CRT and HR:
It's more of the same. A new industry of fake, make work jobs that do not grow the pie. It's foisted on businesses for reasons of liability. Game changer; I don't think more tests change anything. Especially since there are so many false positives and negatives. If you take the test and it is negative what does that mean tomorrow? Are you still negative? If you take the test and you are positive that means you cannot even leave your home and yet you may not have it. The test serves no purpose except if you are sick and them to rule out other causes.
So why would Chris Wallace ask if the president would disavow the white supremacists? What white supremacists? Yes, I know, they claim that the Proud Boys are white supremacists. The Southern Poverty Law Center has declared that the Proud Boys are white supremacists. But that is exactly what the SPLC does and they do it because they are a far left organization whose purpose is to smear any right wing organization so that the MSM then has an excuse to refer to them by their smear. What has the Proud Boys done that makes them "white supremacist"???
Maybe Democrat George Wallace was a white supremacist or maybe Democrat Robert Byrd was a white supremacist. I haven't seen one since them. I have seen a lot of black supremacist. What do you think it is to stand on the flag with a raised fist? What do you think it is to walk into a restaurant and attack white people because they are white? EPA questions legality of California's attempt to phase out sales of gas-powered cars: Oh, no! Let California do that! Because without gas-powered cars means no gas stations for anyone coming in from outside! Which means, they likely won't go
more than 100 miles into Cal. "KILL KALIFORNIA ECONOMY" I would be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO down with that! Calicide!!!! re EPA questions legality of California's attempt to phase out sales of gas-powered cars
One wonders if Biden's puppeteers will have a President old Joe enact a nationwide ban on the sale of new gas burning cars at some future date? EPA and California. EPA back off; states right to make and live with its decisions.
I have electric car and solar panels. Love love them both. No stink into the air to affect your children and marvelous ride. I agree ns.
If California can ignore federal rules and regs they disagree with, the rest of the states should be allowed to do the same. Let's ignore federal firearms regulations for openers. Re Phasing out of Gas Powered Cars
"Newsom, when he announced the initiative, said it would help the state meet its climate goals, and also help create jobs in the state." That's great. So what exactly are the "Climate Goals"? Are they listed on a website, so that we can read them? And how are electric cars going to create more jobs than gasoline powered cars? Is that plan on a website so that we can read it? The answer to both questions is "No." Governments are based on non-performance. It doesn't matter if the plan succeeds. It only matters if government employees get huge salaries to enact the plan. That's the plan. |
