Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

How many of those folks think that Covid has killed more people worldwide than the Nazis killed Jews?
Curse you, Bird Dog!
I was all set to wheedle a Certified Official Microaggression Whistle from the Columbia wokesters, and then I see that it's only one of the Prophecies of Babylon Bee. If I had one of those whistles, I'd blow it on you! I did a spit take on the microagression whistle too. But then I thought, What a great experiment! Give 'em out to everybody. You won't be able to hear yourself think for the first few days and then they would all end up at the back of the student's sock drawer by the end of the semester.
Plus, I think the devices would be self-stigmatizing, making it to easy to identify the true snowflakes on campus. I wonder how many Democrats really think that, if their side loses the Presidential Election again, they'll be making life miserable for society for another 4 years until their next opportunity.
If they've been so completely furious for the past 4 years, then why didn't they field a better set of candidates to win this time? They've had 4 years. They've got two obvious losers out there - flawed to the point where there is almost nothing to like about them. Is it because they've been so busy planning their tantrums, they forgot to develop an election plan? Are they imagining that long-suffering Republicans, who have been the targets for public humiliation and ofttimes physical assault for their freely-held political preferences, are going to be satisfied to put up with 4 more years of this treatment, only worse? After they've won again, twice?? Principles of karmic reckoning suggest a different outcome. While I agree that such behavior is abhorrent to to a mature polity like the US and wouldn't mind the police to break a few heads, the fact that you people have taken it for years and not done anything but complain suggests to me and affirms to your BLM adversaries that you're going to continue bending over, taking it and liking it world without end amen.
re The Scramble to Defuse the 'Feral Swine Bomb'
Poorly written article with some half truths, but there are a couple of things one can take away from this article. 1) The porkers are indeed highly intelligent and procreate at a rapid pace. This does lead to a rapid expansion of territory. 2) The Bureaucracy must be in 7th Heaven over the problem. Conferences, meetings, seminars, travel, rules and regulations decreed . . . . and the problem only gets worse and won't go away. A bureaucrat could make a career out of solving this problem. Some things not mentioned. Pigs instinctively root the ground with their snout for food. This in effect makes them four legged rototillers. That's why they are so destructive. They don't have many natural predators and woe to the animal that attacks a baby pig. One doesn't want to be in the path of a sow (momma pig) if one of her piglets is attacked. Fifteen years ago when I was working, a small heard of feral pigs wandered into our back yard down below the deck. My wife grabbed our .357 pistol and took aim on one of the smaller ones. From 30' away, she shot it through the spine at the base of the neck. When I got home from work, she had it dressed out and in the ice chest. God I love that woman!
Few things tastier than a smallish (30-40lb) feral hog fattened on a diet of pecans and acorns, smoked to perfection on mesquite. Yum! Watch out for mama hog though.
Re: THE HARRIS ADMINISTRATION?? and Atlantic: If Trump Wins, Democrats Will Respond With ‘Mass Unrest’
Well, whatever. It's pretty clear to me the Democrats have no real intention of running a democratic campaign. They don't really campaign, they don't answer questions, and they probably won't debate. They are not interested in promoting their policy proposals and they are not counting on convincing voters of the superiority of their views. They don't actually care if you vote for them. They are counting on the chaos that will likely erupt from their vote by mail scheme and the violence from Antifa and BLM. If they win the chaos and violence, that's what our country will look like for a long time and we'll end up like Venezuela. Re: Stanford Journalism Prof Rejects Objectivity in Journalism
Stanford Communications Professor Emeritus Ted Glasser: QUOTE: “Journalists need to be overt and candid advocates for social justice, and it’s hard to do that under the constraints of objectivity.” So Glasser admits that "social justice" can't be supported by reporting the truth. Good point.
Similarly, if hate crimes are such a problem, then why do so many feel the need to lie about hate crimes? Fake Hate Crimes.org OK. Let's begin here. If the left wants to live in harmony with the folks on the other side--let today be the day that congress moves to ban all food imports from China. That will of course be a problem for Costco and the rest of the Seattle corporate marxists! Or, you know what seems really acceptable---just mandate that food products from anywhere be labeled as produced in . . . When I look at a label and all I see is "distributed by" I know somebody is hiding something!
re Country of origin food labeling
FWIW: Country of origin labeling (COOL) (or mCOOL [m for mandatory]) is a requirement signed into American law under Title X of the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002 (also known as the 2002 Farm Bill), codified at 7 U.S.C. § 1638a as Notice of country of origin. This law had required retailers to provide country-of-origin labeling for fresh beef, pork, and lamb. The program exempted processed meats. The United States Congress passed an expansion of the COOL requirements on September 29, 2008, to include more food items such as fresh fruits, nuts and vegetables.[1][2] Regulations were implemented on August 1, 2008 (73 FR 45106), August 31, 2008 (73 FR 50701), and May 24, 2013 (78 FR 31367). The 2016 Consolidated Appropriations Act is the latest amendment to the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946. This act forms the basis of the current COOL requirements. On December 18, 2015 Congress repealed the original COOL law for beef and pork, as a part of the omnibus budget bill[3] because of a series of WTO rulings that prohibited labels based on country of origin on some products. COOL regulations exist for all other covered commodities such as fresh fruits, raw vegetables, fish, shellfish, muscle cuts and ground lamb, chicken, goat, peanuts, pecans, ginseng, and macadamia nuts.[4] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandatory_country-of-origin_labeling_of_food_sold_in_the_United_States What food products are you talking about? Just wondering. If it's something exotic, isn't it Buyer Be Ware already?
It's odd things. Up here in Western Canada, it's fresh garlic which - it appears - only China can supply. However, one does well to check out the source of frozen fish. A friend has advised that anything coming from Vietcong may well have grown up in a seriously polluted river and carry with it unwanted nasties.
Dem Hack Chuck Todd ‘Uncomfortable’ With Historic Middle East Peace Deal…
The Palis are also uncomfortable that the Arab League, by refusing to condemn the peace deal, has shown the Palis that their Arab "allies" no longer have unlimited patience for Palis' seventy years plus of NO. No, this doesn't bring peace to the Middle East, as the Palis are still in their NO mode. But the peace deal does show the Palis that they are losing support for their NO policy. re Pennsylvania Will Accept Mail-in Ballots Whose Signatures Don't Match
Can Trump win by enough votes to over come the cheating? It's going to be especially tough this time because there will be Broward County style late vote counting going on in the big Democrat counties for weeks after election night. They will know how many votes they need to 'find' to overturn the results and they will find them. It might be necessary for conservative areas to find reasons to not report their totals on election night.

There's video out there showing Biden getting off his jet in Florida and waving to an empty field. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bt1HqwiW9nU I'm sure Biden has re-imagined his fans outstanding in the field.
The notion that we can resolve the current differences of opinion that have the country split into two totally opposed worldviews, between one species of animal whose modus operandi HAS to consist in the genocide and extinction of the other and the other that is dancing around over its own footprints, dilly dallying in inane dilettantism and refusing to see the obvious genocidal maniacs in its opponents, by voting or, in more general terms, by any kind whatsoever of peaceful means, might be just a little itty-bitty teensy-weensy minuscule insignificant microscopic tad on the side of overoptimism. /s?
On the Boeing thing: I think they lost sight of their mission. The fiasco has all the signatures of committees unable to make a decision.
I think it is incompetence, pure and simple. Incompetent people have affirmatively been hired to fill jobs that require competence. It will get worse.
