We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
A wonderful design and terrific sail. I campaign a Soling, a similar one-design racer, on Lake Michigan. Its a little lighter with a larger sail plane and a lighter "blade" keel so it sails differently. We've seen and sailed with Shields at Vineyard Haven. Very nice.
Of all the sports I've participated in, none beats the challenges of competitive sailing! Courage when reaching with a storm chute or freeing a masthead sheave underway, cunning and discipline when rounding the mark in close quarters, strategy when when engaged in an up-wind drag race with another boat. Truly one of the most exhausting and exhilarating things a person can do!
