We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The worst thing that could possibly happen to America's children would be the reopening of the public schools. At public school, the children are prisoners. They are simply shuffled from one room to the next, so that they can be lectured. The schoolbooks are a disaster, the teachers are a disaster, and the curriculum is a disaster. The kids learn nothing. So what the government really wants is to reopen the children's prison camps. After all, America is a prison camp. The kids need to learn unquestioning obedience from an early age. High taxes are not open for discussion.
Here's a quote from the article: It cannot be stressed enough that private schools must compete for business, charge about half of what public schools do, and importantly, are not unionized. Thus, children—not a political agenda – are their focal point."
