Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

It's interesting that they and Planned Parenthood are only now canceling their founders when this information has long been known.
One wonders if it will be enough to keep their organizations from being canceled or if they will have to reorganize as a "new" organization under a different name? ‘Walking On Eggshells’: 62% Of Americans Are Afraid To Express Political Views, Survey Finds" Who, as a conservative and voting for Trump wants to have their house firebombed and their life threatened? Friends had their car damaged for having a Bush sticker back in the day while lunch in a leftist area. The leftist are violent and aggressive people, just look at what is going on in the cities run by Dems..
Remember two axioms of current Leftist thought:
1. Words are violence (well, not their words, just people who disagree with them) 2. Violence can be answered wit violence (well, their violence is legitimate expression, so not really violence) I would also add you can be fired for holding the wrong political opinion.
If I worked in corporate America, I wouldn't have an opinion on anything. And I sure wouldn't be on Facebook or Twitter. For "regular Joes", life has always been about getting along and not causing a stir in order to earn a living, something would-be young revolutionaries only really begin to understand once they settle down, get a mortgage and two kids.
Hence the primordial importance of the secret ballot. It is the one means the ordinary citizen has of safely voicing an opinion. Five years ago, I got into an argument with a man over the second amendment. He was a hunter, so I thought we would be on the same page. Well it wasn’t long before we were disagreeing on just about everything - within the same conversation. I had been doing quite a bit on contract engineering with him. After that conversation, he never called again.
Lefties are the same everywhere. They are vindictive. They never forget, and most troubling of all, they have no forgiveness. Most republicans I know, let things roll. If you have a disagreement, no matter how heated, things are back to normal the next day. We can live with people that have a difference of opinion. Not lefties. Agree with them or suffer the consequences. "the political climate today prevents them from saying what they believe.". I am no longer welcome at a good friend's house because of a light hearted comment on immigration angered his wife. A contractor no longer calls me for work because I said illegals get food stamps. I'm not surprised. They are all 'Karens' now.
Coronovirus, Opening up schools and the Economy.
Dr Sheult (Medcram) has an update exploring the idea put forth by a Dr. Mina of Harvard. As you know, effective testing has been an obstacle in establishing protocols for public safety. The CDC is hungup on having a 99.999% accurate test. In a very abbreviated and over broad explanation by me, what Dr Mina has proposed is using the less sensitive, but relatively cheap, self administered antigen test, based on a drop of saliva wiped across a test paper. This test measures for infectivity over a certain threshold. If the test is positive the student or worker just stays home. Even if it is missed the first day, so what, it can be picked up a day or two later, the point is you have many potential carriers self isolating greatly reducing the public viral load and exposure. Again the point is don't let the perfect by the enemy of the good or the good enough. These test are already available. Nevermind, says my sister, too little opportunity for graft. And, she says that there are too many whiners and inadequate people who would find even this too hard.
If the error rate for these tests is random, it looks like we could just test twice. The odds of two wrong answers in a row would be severely reduced. But maybe that's wrong, and the error is repeatable for a particular patient's biochemistry?
There is no such thing as "coronavirus." This a communist plot bought and paid for.
re Know What We Really Need? A Department Of Climate
Of course. We can always use another cabinet controlled department staffed with thousands of bureaucrats consuming salaries and curtailing our freedom with rules and regulations. Perhaps this will be added to the Dems to do list if they take complete control of the Federal Government in November? Trouble with insisting on a 'new cabinet' is that they'll have to do something to justify their existence.
Something. It doesn't have to be relevant, effective, or even sensible - but they'll have to do SOMETHING. Which will likely be expensive and restrictive. Just what the climate needs, right? I’ll believe Durham and Barr are going to indict someone of significance when they do it. No excitement without indictment.
DeBlasio blames corona for crime and murder. Corona does not murder or commit crime...He has BLM and the blue ghetto for that result.
We don't need a department of "climate". We desperately need a department of "Antigovernment" that spends all their time shrinking government employees and government programs.
" Trump campaign jet fuel? Republicans pin hope on Durham Russia-hoax investigation"
Hopefully they are proceeding by ignoring there even is a Durham investigation going on. They need to press very publicly for obvious low-hanging fruit, like prosecution of Kevin Clinesmith. It may well be hes cooperating with Durham, but that will never come to light without public pressure for him to be tried for what they already have evidence for. The swamp is world famous for slow walking "investigations" into the sunset with no resolution, and Barr and Durham are Swamp products regardless their reputations. 62% of American’s are afraid to comment on politics....none of them are on FaceBook or Twitter.
Earth, moon were bombarded by asteroid shower 800 million years ago: I'M Gonna SUE them damned asteroids.
Star of David taken down by Twitter, citing 'hateful imagery': Why I now despise, detest, and distrust Twitter and all its twits. The Left’s Never-Ending Purity Implosion: Of course! Those haters will hate most everything. Portland Mayor Attends Portland “Protests”, Gives Stamp Of Approval To Attacking Federal Property And Employees : Getting Crazier and Crazier. ‘Walking On Eggshells’: 62% Of Americans Are Afraid To Express Political Views, Survey Finds: Leftists don't DO "anger management". De Blasio Blames Coronavirus For Spiking Crime, Murder In NYC: It's not HIS fault!!!!!11111!!!!! Oh, noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. If a POC falls in the forest and there is no one else there is it still the fault of white people?
I just want you to know I have no opinion whatsoever on any of this.
" Earth, moon were bombarded by asteroid shower 800 million years ago"
Yes, and a billion years ago, and 1.2 billion years ago, and 1.x and 2.x billion years ago. And probably within the NEXT thousand or two thousand years, it'll happen AGAIN. UNLESS we figure out how to deflect or capture such bodies. Because it's STILL HAPPENING. Archaeologists have been investigating a dig site called Tall el-Hamman in Jordan, just northeast of the Dead Sea. It was a thriving Bronze Age city about 3700 years ago. Some of the pottery shards excavated show signs of intense heat; enough to turn one side of the shards to glass. The area may have been destroyed by the explosion of a meteorite, with the equivalent energy of a 10 megaton nuclear explosion. https://www.universetoday.com/140752/a-meteor-may-have-exploded-in-the-air-3700-years-ago-obliterating-communities-near-the-dead-sea/ The name of the place? Sodom. Here's another place that may have very interesting Biblical implications. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burckle_Crater |
