We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Nut glut - I'm not too worried for these folks. Prices were high in the US, so there is demand here. If there is excess, prices will drop and consumers will indulge.

And that doesn't even consider there is are increasing product lines for these: almond milk, almond butter, almond flour. All products growing in popularity.

And with kids staying at home, I'm sure more PB&J sandwiches will be made than previously.

I would put it to you that it’s the other way around. I think that most people are a mix of conservative and liberal views. While I am conservative on the rule of law and the Constitution, the bedrock of American culture, I am liberal on quite a few social issues – probably having a bit to do with my upbringing.

But we rely on our intellect to get through life, no matter what our station. And no intellect can view the varieties of madness that have overtaken the Democratic Party and conclude that it ought to be made stronger with votes. Most people aren’t crazy; they can see riots, looting, violence and mayhem in the streets and know enough to stay away from it, and comprehend enough to connect it to the impacts they are feeling in their own private life economies. And they know that the circus they are seeing is in reality a small number of people being amplified by good camera angle and production values with viewership in mind.

I conclude that there are plenty of people with liberal ideas in their head that routinely vote Republican because they know the alternative is suicide.

And the Republicans, for their part, are mostly quite happy to have the votes and quite happy to be politically slothful so they don’t upset the apple cart for their voters – or themselves.

Good addition. I know liberals in each cohort.
The description in the OP should be a good catalyst for honest introspection.
Both passages printed together on a single page amplify the dissonance. I plan to share them with friends at tonight’s cocktail hour & will report back on reactions.
Hopefully it will not cause “kinetic” social distancing violations!

This is because the left choose the language and they are good at this scam. Black lives matters is a Marxist/fascist group formed by and supported by foreign communist nations but the name tells the casual American all they need to know. What could be wrong with a group who are trying to save lives? To put it simply; Democrats/leftists are way better at lying than Republicans/conservatives are.

Democrats are better at lying than republicans? Are you sure about that? I’m strictly talking about politicians in what I am about to say. Democrats are pretty honest about what what they want. Their promises of a better life through their policies, is certainly a lie. What I find worse, is the republicans that campaign on conservative principals, get elected and cast votes contrary to what they promised on the campaign trail. Which is the worst lier?

I don't understand that Insanity Wrap video. The officer seemed to get off multiple shots at point-blank range, but the guy didn't go down. Were the shots missed? He did go down eventually, when his knife appeared to be close enough to strike the gun, but I never saw any bullet holes, and he never really seemed to be pushed backwards by the shots.

The cop made a stupid mistake. He should have "set himself" after getting out of his car and steadied his hand before shooting. Instead he backed up and from the way it looked backed up very unstabley and carelessly therefore his bullets missed the mark. If the perp had had a gun the cop would be dead. Honestly it appeared that this might have been the first time this cop ever experienced a threat.

Imagine if he was black.

"Unarmed black man killed after traffic stop by white cop." (Only carrying a screwdriver and utility tools)

"Unarmed black man shot multiple times in the back by officer as he was trying to flee after being repeatedly harassed."

"Black man clearly trying to put his hands up and surrender while being gunned down. Eyewitnesses say he was not a threat and was saying 'don't shoot'."

"Black man apprehended and killed based on bare suspicion he might have been connected to earlier crime."

"White cop fails to use non-lethal alternatives, leading to suspect's death."

"Police officer fails to first shoot at suspect's legs to try immobilize him, indicating police brutality."

"White officer failed to render appropriate medical assistance as black man lay dying."

An observation about the shooting, the officer was a woman with over 22 years of experience and she did a fantastic job of clearing her pistol and putting the final rounds in the bad guy. She hit him numerous times and with a pistol round it takes a hit to the central nervous system to stop any critter fast, shooting the chest including the heart will take a couple of seconds for the blood to stop pumping and it appears the attacker might have been on some type of drugs to be stupid enough to attack an armed police officer. That was good shooting by the officer and it ended up with a dead attacker.

It did end well, I was just trying to figure out why we didn't see any bulletholes in his center mass. She must have hit him there, it was point-blank range, and he did (finally) go down.

Precisely. Drug-addled or psychotic is a very good assumption based on his prior attack at the market, and both of those can have surprising effects when confronted with lethal force.

This is just a very good life example/instruction on why you never let a bad guy with bad intentions get within 15 or 20 ft of you. With the right training, such a person can get to you whether you are trained or not. And close up, a knife can be just as quickly lethal as a handgun.

Gosh, would this be a case of presenting an aspiration / justification as if it were a result? But wouldn't it be much better to prove your point with actual results, say for example the complete absence of recidivist crime by released-for-COVID convicts, so far during the pandemic? Oh, that's right. Murder, rape, and mayhem would prevent that kind of announcement.

I would 100% agree that any group that based their belief system on lies is corrupt. However in this we have precedent. Other states AND California have recently released violent criminals after stating that the criteria disallowed violent criminals from the program. They say one thing and do another.

So now examine the left claims that Kayleigh McEnany wants to ignore science so that children can be sent back to school. The press/left lied. That is not what she said. Her entire statement in context says something very different. But the left/Democrats HAVE to lie all the time.

It is my opinion that the well documented steps that were taken in all the African countries--the actions taken which resulted in all white communities in Africa being removed from their culture, their property, and their control of their government-- those same steps are being taken here in the USA.

Step 2, etc.

The same people that organized the take down of so many white communities on the African continent are at work today doing the same thing in every state in America.

The whole prison system is a scam. 90% of the guys in prison could serve their time at home. They give the guy an ankle GPS. And then he has to answer the phone a couple of times a day. That's it. Prison is for the guards and the lawyers. Not for the prisoners.
