We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
"In his first and exclusive interview for Polish media, Elmer Yuen, an influential Hong Kong businessman, reveals the true motives of the CCP for the #NationalSecurityLaw in Hong Kong, the #CCPVirus pandemic, Chinese influence in the Vatican and much more."
The man (now speaking from NYC, I think) is completely unreasonable to imagine that the US has any interest in interfering with the sad future of Hong King. His speculations about the Vatican's links to China are also strange, but who knows?
I didn't hear him say anything implying that he imagined the US has any interest in interfering with the sad future of Hong Kong. What he did say, and it is true, that there are many Americans (and others around the world) angry over the CCP refusal to accept responsibility for the pandemic and that lawsuits are sure to follow, as they should.
As to the "Vatican's links to China are strange". It is rather about the Chinese Communist Party's infiltration of the Vatican and that the current Pope is an Argentine Marxist willing to negotiate with the communists.
Here's a link to read about it;

It's very similar to the CCP infiltration of The WHO. Tedros is a Marxist. Communists install their fellow travelers into key positions of authority and tell them what to do. The puppets obey. Biden is one such puppet.
The Epoch Times says one of their reporters in Hong Kong was threatened with being sent to the Mainland as a "live organ donor" if she didn't comply by wearing a CCP uniform.
In addition to destroying Hong Kong, their leaders are trying to control various markets including rare earths necessary to most hi-tech products and appliances (especially GE) sold in the U.S., regardless of where they are manufactured. How could OUR politicians and Chamber of Commerce (Hey, Tommy Donahue!) allow this monstrous control of technology and materials within a Communist country.
We may not be thinking too much about Hong Kong but make no mistake almost 8 million Hong Kong residents are thinking about us. And our politicians will likely invite them to come here as asylum seekers. We (the U.S. citizens) are too stupid to resist the efforts that will be made to provide them all with homes and care for the next 50 years or so not to mention bring all their relatives in after we give them citizenship.
Actually the track record for successful assimilation into American society is quite high among Asian immigrants. Your assertion about .gov giving them housing and care for 50 years is just not accurate. They arrive, perhaps receive some aid and then they assimilate and prosper, because they value education and they keep out of trouble.
I would much prefer an industrious immigrant from Asia than any of the imports of say, sub-Saharan Africans or middle-east practitioners of the "religion of peace".
I totally agree with you. But many of our problems are exacerbated by our large and growing population. With 330 million citizens do we need more? My preference would be that we get everyone off welfare and working. all legal immigrants speaking English, assimilated and working and all illegal immigrants deported BEFORE we bring more here.
The overmatch that enabled the United States to overcome the tyranny of distance in the Pacific is fading. According to one commentator, “The Pentagon has reportedly enacted 18 war games against China over Taiwan, and China has prevailed in every one.”
I didn't make it through all of the video, but one of the points he made needs to be amplified.
The Chinese have used a portion of the trillions they have made from the West to undermine institutions, to spread propaganda, to bribe, and buy influence.
I don't know how to measure it, but it has clearly had an effect.
