Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

I've lived in Atlanta for 15 years now, and I've never seen anything like what is happening now. It breaks my heart to see people so angry and afraid.
What that article does not mention is that in the last two weeks the shootings and murders that were historically limited to the poor neighborhoods in SW Atlanta have moved north into Edgewood and Midtown, both completely gentrified neighborhoods. Things are far worse here than that article shows. Last Saturday one of the kids who has started aggressively selling water to cars stopped at traffic lights was murdered in broad daylight in Midtown. Last Sunday a man was shot in Piedmont Park at the 14th street entrance. Two days ago another teenager was shot to death in a nearby skate park near to the Beltline by Ponce City Market. All of these shootings and murders happened in affluent, previously safe parts of town. They embraced a culture that denigrates personal responsibility, respect for others, and education - and emphasized the worst aspects - anger, violence, impulsiveness, envy, drugs and unreason.
Only way out of it is to become what they ostensibly 'hate' - acting 'white'. Dumping the 'authentic' ways they've learned, emphasizing education over ignorance, self-control and planning for the future over 'being real' and 'in the moment'. Don't know if they can. Don't know if they will. Don't even know if they really want to. It took years to get this bad. It'll take decades to recover from. Politicians no longer have to sell themselves as experienced problem solvers. Clearly today's big city mayors aren't, nobody even works on contingency plans. They either flaunt their credentials or gas on about victimization. In the meantime, SJWs offer the pretense that privilege comes from race, but the underpinning of "privilege" is behavior and attitude. From this comes the bourgeois values described by Murray. It’s sometimes called the work ethic. It incorporates concepts like self actualization, self discipline, fairness, loyalty (though not blind loyalty), integrity, civic mindedness, reliability and accountability, courage, autonomy, problem solving, saving money and postponement of gratification, showing up, being productive and contributing to the community and the economic pie.
But it's even worse, people of today aren't even taught the standard survival imperatives. Among them are: Don't eat the seed corn. Don't kill the golden goose. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. and, oh, the big one, Don't shit in your own nest. "I've lived in Atlanta for 15 years now, and I've never seen anything like what is happening now."
You are naive. The ATL was the US Murder Capital back in the early 70s. It has never been a "safe place." Even Buckhead has had it share of grisly killings. Ever been on the west or south side of town? You've heard of Ray Lewis? Wayne Williams? Mark Barton? Are you familiar with Freaknik. Colossal cluster that was, endorsed politically until it became such a monstrosity that it had to be shut down. You may have thought that you had seen everything until you see some sweet young think lift her skirt, expose her Mound of Venus and environs to a complete stranger, and let him videotape the complete package. The ATL. It's all the things I mentioned above and more; and for only one reason. It'll be getting worse before it gets better. Fantastical utopianists wish upon money trees. The rest of us wonder what replaces the revenues from small businesses and tourism. Even if they don't close up shop altogether, businesses are going to be hesitant to invest, expand or hire. What happens to property values, commercial and residential? How do people continue to vote for this?
While I don't and won't wear a mask, Blaylock has no credibility.
I don't fault any of the decisions from early on in the pandemic crisis (like the lockdown) because there just wasn't enough solid information on the disease, including its communicability and lethality. And the Chinese were clearly panicking. I believe one should never condemn a public policy decision that is taken in good faith to protect the public.
But these same public health Powers That Be have utterly destroyed their credibility, wantonly and with disregard to their mission, by pandering to the protest rioter-mobs. And having first admonished us not to wear masks, they now demand it. I think more than a few of this realized it was initially due to supply issues, wanting to prioritize health care supplies. But the way they structured that message as a bald-faced lie reflected a profound lack of trust in the public's good will, and an even deeper lack of respect. And now they have reversed course. Our county has even issued a Gretchen edict, wear'em or it's $1000. You know what? Why not stop letting convicted murderers and rapists out of jail? Why, you can just give them a mask . Because those work. Right? T I would forgive them for making mistakes early on. But now they are doubling down on those mistakes. Mandating masks, closing businesses and using their power to control us. At the least they should be voted out of office but I would prefer lawsuits because of their unconstitutional behavior

Gee whiz, what did our leaders think would happen when we off-shored all our pharma production, medical supplies' manufacturing, healthcare research and testing, data collection, etc. to China? Talk about an accident waiting to happen! The entertainment industry has been flooding the market with their "catastrophe" movies for decades with many featuring virus attacks.
The former four administrations and their national security experts have been a bunch of dolts with Fauci among them. He's the most wishy-washy of the gang and has been since his AIDS debacle. I wish we had a way of finding out his net worth from all his shenanigans...proceeds from vaccines that now can infect entire genomes for eternity. Why does Blaylock have no credibility? He's been around for years. I used to receive his Wellness Reports - 90’s. He was to much natural path for me, but I was younger and ignorant of good nutrition leadIng to better overall health.
Do your own research but for starters he is an anti vaxer.

Michael Shellenberger: “On Behalf Of Environmentalists, I Apologize For The Climate Scare” Climate's been changing ever since this planet has had an atmosphere. Academic department calls on Penn State to require 'structural racism' courses: Why not unstructured racism? Catch as catch can! Are the wheels coming off in Atlanta? Not "coming off"; "boosted"/"stolen". I know that climate 'changes".
I can walk out on my front porch and see it change with my own eyes. I am not a climate scientist but I play one on Maggie's Farm. Climate doesn't change in a region, except over long periods of time. We are living in a fixed climate of very variable weather. Anyone who wishes to avoid variation in weather ought to move to somewhere like the Moon.
“If widespread facemask use by the public is combined with physical distancing and some lockdown, it may offer an acceptable way of managing the pandemic and reopening economic activity long before there is a working vaccine,” said Richard Stutt of Cambridge University’s Department of Plant Sciences, lead author of the study paper. The study was based on the theory that the coronavirus can be transmitted through airborne droplets when talking, coughing or sneezing. The researchers assessed vario ..

QUOTE: WHO said this week that even though there is no high quality or direct scientific evidence to support widespread use of masks by healthy people I’m not going to argue that a mask is not effective in certain situations, but I’m talking about an affective mask, not some cotton bandanna. Why the push to stigmatize everyone into wearing one, in all situations? If you want me to wear a mask in the store, more confined spaces, fine, I’ll do it. Even though I don’t think the risk is great. But get out of here trying to tell me to wear one out in the open. WHO can’t even argue for the mask scientifically. The answer, to why the mask, that keeps coming to me is the marxist utopia that is being foisted upon us. You will comply with all that is directed, and a none mask wearer is an easy target of noncompliance. An example of a free thinker; one who may just value liberty. The type of person that is an enemy to the utopian marxist state. A name that will be marked down for future reference. Mt 8:24 They came and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” He said to them, “Why are you terrified, O you of little faith?” Pray. Have faith. Be not afraid. The Lord will save us. "It may!!" Probably won't but it may! Do you really think that you can prevent infection over 12 months by wearing a mask? Sooner or later you are going to get the covid-19. It is highly contagious and is everywhere. You can put the mask where the sun doesn't shine and "it may" protect you just as much.
There is a uniquely American solution to this problem: IF you wat to wear a mask than do so. DO NOT tell others what to do. re Michael Shellenberger: “On Behalf Of Environmentalists, I Apologize For The Climate Scare”
Delingpole: Forbes Cancels Environmentalist Who Wrote ‘I Apologize for the Climate Scare’ QUOTE: At least it did, till Forbes caved to furious green activists and pulled it within hours of publication. By arguing that climate change is real – but “not the end of the world” and “not even our most serious environmental problem,” Shellenberger had been found guilty of wrongthink. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/06/30/delingpole-forbes-cancels-environmentalist-who-wrote-i-apologize-for-the-climate-scare/ College 'deeply sorry' for letting police use restrooms
QUOTE: “Let us assure you, this should not have happened, and going forward, it will not happen again.” Berklee College of Music permitted police officers to use restrooms in its performance center following protests in the area. The school is now apologizing for the action, saying it understands many members of the community felt "betrayed." https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=15027#.XvscFu1B5k0.twitter Maybe they could compromise and have a colored only "cops only" restroom? An African country still has slavery????????? Good grief, "coerced labor" exists in the 3rd world supply chain and most of you unintentionally support it. I include myself. True it is not chattel slavery but nevertheless, if the shoe fits. Globalists, multinationals (include sports and media) and financialists are the beneficiaries; wink, wink, nod, nod.
