Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Re: Barr troubled
It's hard to drain a swamp when you're up to your ass in alligators. From the piece about needing a New FBI;
"Since its founding in 1908, the Bureau has regularly infringed on Americans’ civil rights or just failed to do its job, to wit: the internment of Japanese-American citizens; the harassment of Dr. Martin Luther King and other civil rights leaders; the shooting of innocent citizens at Ruby Ridge and Waco; the takeover of the Boston Field Office by organized crime boss Whitey Bulger; the betrayals by FBI agent Robert Hanssen; misunderstanding the significance that persons connected to Osama bin laden were enrolled in U.S. flight schools; pursuing and publicly naming the wrong suspect in the 2001 Anthrax attacks; ignoring a Russian warning about the perpetrators of the Boston Marathon bombing; concocting fake terror plots; and ignoring an advance tip about the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting." With that track record, I find the author's contention that we need anything "new" from this gang. Do away with the FBI and the damn ATF while you're at it. Gerry Spence long ago wrote that he, from experience, had learned that federal agents regularly, lie under oath, fabricate evidence, destroy evidence and withhold exculpable evidence. We need to see a massive reduction in their ranks....and full on prosecution of their most recent fuckery. My late next-door-neighbor was a retired member of the FBI from the middle 40s to 60s. He told stories that made our skin crawl. The organization needs to be evaluated for its usefulness vs. its outright lawlessness. Hoover was a power hungry political animal, but it doesn't appear that his successors -- especially Bush -- have been any better. Communists have thrived and individual rights are merely words on parchment.
Downtown Seattle Autonomous Zone.
I do not think that word means what you think it means. Homeless people reportedly ate all the food in the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, situation dire. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
not bummed about this. America Deserves a New FBI: I keep saying, Mr. Trump need to don his Hercules outfit and divert the Potomac River thru the FBI building, and any other executive branch offices as he sees fit. “You’re not my brother”: The trainwreck Cornel West-Leo Terrell segment you can’t miss. re: de Blasio aide resigning in protest of excessive kindness to police-- you can't make this shit up re: America Is Not Racist-- hear hear! Oh no! AG Barr is very troubled. “For the first time in American history, the police organizations and the national security organizations were used to spy on a campaign and there was no basis for it” I don't believe that. This is the first time they got caught. I'm sure he can drag his feet for a few more months, hoping Trump won't win the election. All the trouble can be swept under the rug. What happens if Trump wins, AG Barr? What are you going to do?
COVID-19: Straight Answers from Top Epidemiologist Who Predicted the Pandemic
SORRY, I'm not buying what this public health BUREAUCRAT is trying to sell and the interviewer (from "Blue Zones", no less) in this article, clearly has an agenda in his mix of questions, as well as in his attempt at creating the interviewee's supposed expertise and political neutrality! Covid moving from >75 to #1 cause of death, yet, the overall number of deaths has remained constant, while seasonal flu has virtually disappeared as a COD? SOMEONE IS OBVIOUSLY COOKING THE BOOKS here and the good "doctor" (PhD, NOT MD) doesn't even mention that? Ha! Goodbye any credibility for "Dr," Osterholm. You're FIRED! I'm with you, Codger. Something's rotten; nothing adds up. He should be fired along with Fauci and Scarf Lady.
MOST of all, I will never take a vaccine nor inflict any friend or relative to one knowing how they can be abused by the likes of Bill Gates and his buddies in the healthcare field. FLASHBACK: Biden Touted ‘Slave State’ Delaware in Southern Strategy
Of course it's okay when crazy old Joe does it. QUOTE: In a 2006 appearance on Fox News Sunday, anchor Chris Wallace asked Biden about how he could win in places like South Carolina when hailing from a blue state. "What kind of a chance would a northeastern liberal like Joe Biden stand in the south if you were running in Democratic primaries against southerners like Mark Warner and John Edwards?" Wallace asked. "Better than anybody else," Biden replied. "And you don't know my state. My state was a slave state. My state is a border state. . . . Biden also invoked Delaware's "slave state" past while speaking in South Carolina to the Columbia Rotary Club that year, joking Delaware would have fought in the Confederacy if not for its geographic location. Delaware "was a slave state that fought beside the North," he said. "That's only because we couldn't figure out how to get to the South. There were a couple of states in the way." Yeah. Joe was just pandering, but imagine if a Republican candidate had said as much? https://freebeacon.com/politics/flashback-biden-touted-delaware-being-a-slave-state-as-part-of-his-southern-strategy/ Re: The China Thousand Talents Plan
"It is alleged that Lieber falsely stated that he was never asked to participate in the Thousand Talents Program." This is a ridiculous story, because it completely fails to mention that thousands of American companies have opened manufacturing branches in China; contingent upon the release of trade secrets to the Chinese. Tesla has a new factory in China, and you can bet that any new technology will belong to the Chinese, even though Americans are supposed to buy the cars. So here's the question: Is not telling anyone about selling American trade secrets as part of a trade deal a crime? After all, the President of an American company can do whatever he wants. So if he thinks that giving away information in exchange for access to the Chinese market is a good idea, who can stop him? Right now, nobody. And those American executives will make a fortune as their stock options go through the roof; while their American employees go bankrupt. It's a bad situation. Upper-class corporate America is selling America to the Chinese. For personal gain. "It's Time to End Qualified Immunity. FULL STOP."
