We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
That was my first response too Freddo, when I saw the headline this morning. Anything about white sticky bird poop is the last thing I want to hear about. But, later in the day I did watch the video and the part about birds staying lighter by drinking less water was somehow appealing to hear.
A few years birds, not necessarily starlings, tripped two mulberry tree in my yard in one day. The cars suffered....
But, seriously, I looked that up not even two weeks ago and posted the question and answer in a facebook group I belong to. 64 years old, and I got curious as to why white and not brown. After staring a big blob on my windshield going to work.
Banyans are real bad news too. Never park under a banyan tree or even stand under one, you will regret it. A combination of birds eating the berries which are loathsome, and they must be a laxative too.
