Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Free the people; sheepies stay home

My town, Encinitas, CA, has a hard left City Council and a recent majority that elected it. Today was a significant protest about its fear-mongering and controlling lives excessiveness shutting down the beach and walkways above the beach. I'm down there every day walking long distances, and walkers have been keeping distances and many wearing masks. I hope come November, the fear mongerers and sheepies get sent home.

I was going to attend this, but I thought it was only going to be about re-opening the park. If beaches are not open by next week, I am going to be practicing civil disobedience.

I'm just a few miles north of you Bruce, in Vista. Lots of people out walking every day: everyone polite and considerate of others. The shutdown has gotten dads out with their little kids. I think we will be OK if things start opening up around mayday.

I lived in Carlsbad, and I'm incredibly happy that I moved to Texas four months ago, but I wish you all well. You've got a huge problem on your hands with all the Lefties there, who enjoy fascistic behavior and vote it in at every opportunity!

We should all remember that today (19th April) is Patriot's Day.

245 years ago today there was a skirmish at the Concord North Bridge with the opening shot of the Battle of Concord, leading to the Revolutionary War with the British.

Not suggesting a wholesale rejection of the sensible public health measures that we desperately need right now - just a stubborn, Yankee-style insistence that American rights are God-given, not politician-granted. Tyranny has many examples and I am sure the courts will soon be swamped by lawsuits filed by ordinary people who just wanted to get the damn turnips planted.

Oddly, I miss living in Encinitas and Solana Beach. I would be paying no attention to the fools and walking the beach as I always both before the sun rose and long after it set. North from Fletcher Cove or South from there to Del Mar. I rarely saw anybody. In daylight I pretty much left them to themselves. There's something to be said for living on the beach and going when the crowds don't go. Latent vampire tendencies aside, I burn very easily even after a lifetime at sea.

Just think about it--you are witnessing one of those very few moments in time when the liberal beat the conservatives to the Bill of Rights! ;-) This is I believe what is sometimes referred to as a perturbation!

ahhh...yes...the liberal shame and insult and put down. Cult psychological techniques have been well documented for years. The unions used it first and then the media, and the feminist leaders, and the gay leaders, and the school teacher's union, and, and, and,

Trum Derangement Sydrome is exactly what cult leaders built into their "followers" as a defense mechanism. The Democrats were ready to put it into play the day after the election! You can check the Library of Congress sometime back in the late 1930's they were doing an investigation on this stuff!
