Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. So, got an email from the volunteer director - in a nutshell, they're not needing the assistance. Total TMC hospitilizations are down, and as of last night, there were just over 700 COVID patients across the entire TMC system, while the ICU number has dropped to just over 300...

I really can't do that. Fortunately I can work (IT) from home and have a heavy workload, otherwise I'd go crazy.

I just cannot sit through even a single TV show usually, certainly not a movie or a game.

I imagine if there is a way to blame the over reaction on Trump, the dems and media will try, though that would force them to figure out a way to absolve over reacting dem pols as they pillory republicans for the same offense. That might be tough, even for the media.

More likely in my view is that the "over reaction" criticism will never gain traction. The counter argument will be that 2 million people would have died, and how can that be dis proven? Furthermore the argument will be made that the economy would have tanked anyway as people would have stayed home voluntarily. Finally, it would require in what appears from the polling to be overwhelming majority of Americans, to admit they were wrong about the lockdown. All of us hate to admit we were wrong. I don't believe there will be a receptive audience for the 'over reaction' critique.

So . . . the whole sorry episode will be spun and white washed, with an entire fantasy alternate timeline developed to show "what would have happened" to justify what has been done.

Anyway . . . when things open back up, a much juicier target opens up. Trump can be hammered mercilessly for not having the economy back up to its pre-pandemic level a week after the "all clear" has been sounded.

MSNBC host: Do you know how many Americans die during Trump’s coronavirus briefings? No, I don't, and I expect MSNBC doesn't either, but it likely will pull a number out of its ass and fling it at us.

The smearing of Greg Gutfeld. It should be obvious that the left uses surrogates and crowd sourcing to embarrass, disenfranchise and eliminate prominent people who disagree with them or point out their agenda and transgressions. Do you really think Bill O'Reilly was removed from Fox for legitimate reasons? It is not too dissimilar from what facebook, twitter, youtube and other social sites do to conservative voices. It is the more "humane" version of Stalin's habit of simply killing anyone who disagreed with him.

Regarding vote by mail:
I'm guessing that this will be pushed through. I'm also pretty sure it will be used to cheat massively in the 2020 election. The Republicans need a plan B. If this passes in spite of their efforts to stop it they don't have any recourse but to just accept it. My suggestion is require a thumbprint accompanying every ballot mailed in. No thumbprint no vote. Mail in ballots have a place on the interior envelope for a signature so include a block for the thumbprint right beside it.

Also mandate that every voting district in the U.S. check at least 10% of these thumbprints. That is take the verification envelope to the residence address and compare it. Make this a precondition to accepting the vote count for that district. If there are more than 2% illegal votes in the sample the district must revote.
