Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Virus politics

Via a senior GOP aide, Schumer/Pelosi now pushing these demands amid pandemic-fueled economic collapse:


1) Unprecedented collective bargaining powers for unions


2) Increased fuel emissions standards for airlines


3) Expansion of wind and solar tax credits



This is not the time for these childish games.

This is a learned behavior that has worked consistently before. Why should they stop now?

Oh. The good of their fellow Americans. Okay, but other than that why should they? Besides, comrades, I'm sure it will be better for us in the long run.

Look at the J.H. virus map. Big US cities are the epicenters needing the most help. Are they mostly red, or mostly blue? Shaking my head at their tone-deafness, even while being furious at their reptilian callousness and relentless political maneuvering. They are the worse disease, but thankfully the cure is easy - and free.
